CHAPTER 163: CHAPTER 163: ARE YOU ASKING FOR PEACE WITH ME?

His eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Why aren’t you having breakfast?"

Sophie Sullivan stared at him strangely. He had been angry with her for no reason, and then punished her for no reason. Now, what did these concerns mean? Sophie Sullivan couldn’t figure it out, so she simply stopped thinking about it.

She closed her eyes and said weakly, "I’ll eat later."

"Still no energy?"

Sophie Sullivan impatiently opened her eyes. She wanted to rest quietly for a while. Why did he keep hovering around?

"I mean, can you just let me rest quietly for a while?"

Thomas Shannon’s eyes darkened, and his expression turned gloomy; his hands, hanging by his sides, clenched into fists.

Then, slowly, he unclenched them.

Sophie Sullivan looked at him, a hint of defiance in her voice, "You were angry. What is this now?"

"..."

"Are you trying to make peace with me?"

"..."

"I knew that wasn’t it."

Sophie Sullivan said, turning her back to him.

Thomas Shannon ordered her in a deep voice, "Turn around."

Sophie Sullivan clenched her teeth. Thomas Shannon, you big beast! Are you even a man, being so petty with a woman suffering from period pain?

"Maniac, I want you to turn around!"

"I won’t!"

"Three."

"..."

"Two."

"Thomas Shannon, enough!"

Sophie Sullivan turned around and glared at him. "Even if you want to kill me or torture me, can’t you wait until my body feels a bit better before you torment me?"

Thomas Shannon’s cold eyes stared fiercely at her. He had never seen such an ungrateful woman. She had no conscience at all!

With an icy expression, Thomas Shannon sat down at the bedside, picked up the porridge, and glanced at her coldly. "Open your mouth."

Sophie Sullivan was so surprised her jaw almost dropped.

He was going to feed her? If he wanted to feed her breakfast, he should have just said so. Why be so fierce about it?

Sophie Sullivan was still stunned and didn’t move. Thomas Shannon frowned fiercely. "Open your mouth and have breakfast."

"Thomas Shannon, are you asking me for peace?"

Her phrasing had changed from ’making peace’ to ’asking for peace’.

Other than this reason, Sophie Sullivan couldn’t understand why Thomas Shannon would show her kindness. Could it be that after taking advantage of her last night, he felt his conscience pricking him for tormenting her like this, so he swallowed his pride to ask for peace? If that were the case, Sophie Sullivan thought, she might reluctantly agree.

"Maniac, has anyone told you that you think too highly of yourself?"

"No, you’re the first."

Thomas Shannon snorted. "Right. You wouldn’t meet many people in the asylum."

Speaking of the asylum, Thomas Shannon thought of the people who had investigated her on Bali Island.

Until now, Charlie River had not found any definite information about their identities.

The asylum where the maniac had been held had also burned to ashes in a large fire.

All leads were untraceable.

His eyes, dark and deep, held a complex light as he stared at her intently. Sophie Sullivan felt his gaze making her scalp tingle, and she instinctively pulled her neck back a little. "Thomas Shannon, why are you looking at me like that?"

Averting his gaze, Thomas Shannon said casually, "Stop talking nonsense and have breakfast."

"Answer me first, are we making peace?"

Thomas Shannon stared at her with his cold eyes, as if looking at an idiot.

Sophie Sullivan insisted on a definite answer. "Tell me, are we?"

The man gave an almost imperceptible nod.

Sophie Sullivan stretched out her hand, her smile radiant. "Help me sit up."

Thomas Shannon: "..."

She really knew how to seize an opportunity!

Leaning against the head of the bed, Sophie Sullivan enjoyed the attentive breakfast-feeding service from the proud Young Master Shannon. This really is a blessing in disguise, she thought. If it weren’t for this painful period, she would probably be bullied by this bastard again.
