Pampered by My Secret Husband

CHAPTER 168: CHAPTER 168: IT’S SO SIMILAR, TOO SIMILAR...
A low chuckle spilled out from her throat.
It seemed like a smooth breakup might be impossible now...
Sophie Sullivan lay in bed all day and took some medicine, which helped her body recover a bit. The pain in her lower abdomen had eased considerably. The servants brought her three meals a day by her bedside, and she forced herself to eat a little.
She didn’t see Thomas Shannon all day, and she was somewhat curious. Sipping her fish soup, she glanced at the sky. "It’s so late, hasn’t Thomas come back yet?"
"Young Master hasn’t returned yet," said the servant.
Sophie lowered her eyelids thoughtfully. Never mind, I won’t bother about him. After all, they had made peace, and I have nothing to worry about. Wherever he goes, whether he comes back or not, it has little to do with me. Of course, it would be best if he didn’t come back; I could have some peace and quiet.
After dinner, Sophie got up and went downstairs for a walk to help digest her food. As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Amelia Shaw and Thomas Shannon walking towards the Restaurant together. She leaned against the stair handrail.
A derisive hum escaped her nose as she raised the corner of her mouth in a disdainful smile.
Inside the Restaurant, Amelia Shaw didn’t talk much. Her facial color wasn’t good, and her eyes revealed fatigue. She was wearing the same style of clothes as she did two years ago, quietly sitting next to Thomas Shannon and eating gracefully.
Thomas Shannon put down his chopsticks, his deep eyes shrouded in layers of darkness. Her face was like a blooming peach blossom, her lips pink and enticing, and a fresh, youthful scent emanated from her.
"Thomas, is there something on my face?" Amelia Shaw put down her chopsticks with a belated realization, raised her hand in puzzlement, and touched her face.
Similar.
Too similar...
Thomas Shannon took back his gaze just in time and calmly picked up his chopsticks. "No."
Amelia Shaw smiled faintly and said nothing. She picked up her chopsticks and distributed vegetables to him. "I remember, this seems to be your favorite."
"Mm," he replied softly.
Sophie sat on the sofa with her arms crossed over her chest, tapping her arm with her index finger every now and then. Half an hour passed, and they still hadn’t finished eating.
Was it the delicious dinner or the ambiguous atmosphere, after all?
Time ticked by, and she eventually lost her patience. She got up and headed outside.
「At the medical office.」
Sophie found the doctor. She hadn’t taken her medicine today and was worried about delaying the healing time of her vocal cords.
"Doctor."
"Issues with your vocal cords?"
Sophie shook her head, sat down in front of the doctor’s desk, and stared into the doctor’s eyes with her unfocused ones. "Can I take medicine during my menstrual period?"
"No." The doctor rejected her request.
"Will it delay the healing time?"
"Maniac, the healing of vocal cords is a slow process. It won’t make much difference in these few days, will it?" The doctor tried to convince her.
But he discovered that the maniac was very stubborn.
"Really? Even if I take it, there won’t be too many serious issues, right?" Heaven knew how much Sophie wanted to fix her vocal cords and face. She was anxious, extremely anxious, almost wanting to fight for every minute and every second.
The doctor shook his head, a serious look on his face, trying to scare her. "Maniac, taking medicine during your menstrual period not only has no effect but may also be counterproductive. At that time, if your condition worsens and you want to fully recover, it’ll be even more difficult."
More difficult?
Then forget it...
Disappointed, Sophie got up, left the medical office, and headed outside.
Thinking of Thomas Shannon and Amelia Shaw at the castle, she abruptly changed her direction and went to the flower garden instead.
The vast flower garden was tended to by gardeners every day, carefully nurturing these fragile and delicate blooms.
