CHAPTER 253: CHAPTER 253: TAKE OFF THE MASK

William Guillen’s words, like water unleashed from a dam, couldn’t be stopped.

Thomas Shannon had been secretly shooting him glances, signaling him to tone it down and not overdo it.

He’s even claiming she’s crying her heart out. He better not scare George Stanford off.

Charlie River struggled to stifle his laughter, his facial color turning red from the effort.

As for George Stanford, perhaps he was too worried to notice anything amiss in William Guillen’s tone. He only knew that the goddess of his heart was grieving.

She was so heartbroken that she cried all night and couldn’t sleep.

"How’s Shawna now?"

George Stanford was full of concern, completely lacking his previous imposing air of wanting to leave.

He was desperate to get more information from William Guillen about his mother, even the smallest tidbit.

William Guillen coughed lightly. "The doctor said my mother was overly sad, so she needs to rest and recuperate. Recently, she handed her goddaughter’s matters over to me, and helplessly, I had to invite you over using my mother’s name."

George Stanford stroked his chin and looked at William Guillen suspiciously.

This little brat was just like his father.

He’s got such a glib tongue! And so good at fooling people!

George Stanford shook his head, trying to remain clear-headed. He couldn’t let William Guillen’s few words deceive him. He straightened his back. "Where is Shawna’s goddaughter? Let me see her first."

William Guillen’s gaze shifted to Thomas Shannon, and the man’s calm eyes rippled slightly.

His sexy thin lips hooked up in a gentle curve. "Charlie, bring her up."

"Yes, Young Master."

George Stanford picked out a chair and sat down arrogantly.

Sophie Sullivan had almost finished eating downstairs. As soon as she put down her food plate and fork, Charlie River came to her side.

"Maniac, the Young Master wants you upstairs."

"What for?"

Sophie looked at Charlie suspiciously, full from her meal and not wanting to move.

"About your face..."

As expected, he saw a shocked expression on Sophie’s face.

Knowing what the desire inside her heart was, Charlie went straight to the point. "Now, do you want to go up?"

Sophie lifted her skirt hem with both hands and eagerly darted forward. After two steps, she turned back and impatiently urged, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and show me the way!"

「Upstairs, outside the conference room.」

Charlie politely knocked on the door and opened it. Sophie, holding her skirt hem, entered the conference room first.

There were three men inside the room.

One of them was a complete stranger.

William Guillen smiled meaningfully while Thomas Shannon gestured for her to come over.

Sophie walked lightly to Thomas Shannon’s side, instinctively holding her breath. Like waiting for a verdict.

"Old Mr. Standford, let me introduce you," William Guillen said. "This is the goddaughter my mother has acknowledged."

George Stanford glanced at Sophie. "What’s her name?"

William Guillen: "..."

How should he know what the maniac is called?

It was Thomas Shannon who named her Maniac in the first place; who knows what her real name is!

"Fiona." William Guillen smiled. "Her name is Fiona."

Sophie’s eyes widened. Fiona?

Why didn’t he say her name was Golden Phoenix? At least that sounds more badass!

George Stanford frowned in disgust. "Tacky."

Thomas Shannon chuckled lightly. "Mr. Standford, why not take a look at her face first?"

George Stanford waved his hand. "Take off the mask and let me see."

Emotionally excited and thrilled, Sophie raised her hand.
