Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 263 - 265: Do You Really Like Me Or Not?
CHAPTER 263: CHAPTER 265: DO YOU REALLY LIKE ME OR NOT?
Thomas Shannon frowned slightly. "Are you an idiot?"
"Thomas Shannon, you..." Sophie trailed off. Did you take the wrong medicine?
A flash of impatience crossed Thomas Shannon’s eyes. "Do you want me to feed you?"
Sophie Sullivan wanted to verify a bold speculation in her heart, so she nodded.
"You feed me."
Though Thomas Shannon looked impatient, he still helped her sit up, letting her lean against him. He held the water cup to her lips. "Drink."
After drinking most of the water, Sophie shook her head. "That’s enough."
He removed the cup from her lips and drained the remaining water.
So much for being a clean freak.
Sophie Sullivan seriously wondered if Thomas Shannon’s clean-freak nature could just vanish at any moment.
"What are you looking at?"
Thomas Shannon put the cup on the bedside table, lay down next to her, and pulled her soft body into his embrace.
Before, he had always found women bothersome. Just like the women around William Guillen, they were either clingy or constantly scheming for resources, luxurious mansions, and luxury cars. They were materialistic to an extreme.
He never knew that being with another person could feel so wonderful. So wonderful... that he found himself somewhat addicted.
The faint, unique scent emanating from her—her natural body fragrance—was something Thomas Shannon adored. It was an indescribably refreshing and heart-gladdening sensation.
Sophie squinted her beautiful eyes playfully as she studied him, her fingertips mischievously tracing the contours of his handsome face. "Thomas Shannon, you like me."
It was a statement, not a question. She was certain that Thomas Shannon liked her. She couldn’t explain why, but Sophie was confident that her guess was correct.
Thomas Shannon chuckled. "What makes you think so?"
"A feeling... And, you poured water for me just now."
"Just that?" She’s a little too confident, isn’t she? Daring to conclude he likes her based on mere feelings?
Thomas Shannon thought.
Sophie nodded seriously. "Isn’t that enough to prove it?"
"So what if I do? So what if I don’t?" Thomas Shannon didn’t answer directly, offering an ambiguous response instead.
"If you like me, I can be bolder. If you don’t, I’ll just have to be more restrained."
It was the truth, the absolute truth!
Hearing her mention being ’restrained,’ Thomas Shannon scoffed. He grasped her delicate chin, tilting it slightly from side to side. "Restrained? You?"
"What? You mean, you don’t like me?"
"Stop messing around." Thomas Shannon patted the back of her hand, signaling her to pull it away and stop her antics.
But Sophie Sullivan didn’t budge. Her index finger trailed down to his chest. Lifting her beautiful eyes to meet his, she gently poked his chest with her fingertip, determined to get a satisfying answer. "You still haven’t told me. Do you like me or not?"
"No."
"Liar!" Sophie’s voice rose unconsciously as she vehemently denied it.
How could he not like her? If he didn’t like her, then what did all his actions mean? Surely Young Master Shannon hadn’t suddenly developed a charitable streak, deciding to perform a daily good deed?
"You’re not me. How would you know if I’m lying?" Thomas Shannon found it amusing. Who gave her this confidence? So certain?
Sophie propped herself up on his chest with both hands. She pursed her lips, mulling it over for a moment before devising a plan—admittedly, not a very good one. "Unless you swear on your own life that you don’t like me, I won’t believe you."
"Swear what?"
