Paranoid Doctor Only Loves Me
Chapter 158 - 158 128 Visit Tongtong (1st Update)_2
Chapter 158: 128 Visit Tongtong (1st Update)_2 Chapter 158: 128 Visit Tongtong (1st Update)_2 He thought, Tang Su must find it hard to accept as well.
After all, when couples with significant age differences, even if discussed online by strangers, evoke sighs, it says even more about those who are genuinely close to the individuals involved.
Some might think, “You’re Lu Han’s son, how amazing is that, and you’re not even revealing it. If their father were Lu Maoyan, they would be infinitely honored even if he had them at seventy.”
People also found Lu Han pretentious.
For a long time, Lu Maoyan’s children from his previous marriage thought he was too pretentious, including his own sister Lu Zhu, who initially couldn’t understand him.
Lu Maoyan and Bai Wei understood him, though.
After all, Lu Han had almost entirely lacked the fatherly love that should have accompanied his growth, a situation not shared by Lu Zhu.
Lu Han not only missed out on his father’s love but also faced a lot of cold shoulders, non-violent bullying, and, being sensitive and self-deprecating, felt inferior.
Although he excelled in his studies and seemed to display only the most perfect aspects of himself to others, he was, in fact, delicately perceptive, harboring an inconspicuous sense of inferiority and helplessness.
The friends around him, except for Old Tan, were relatives—either cousins or distant family.
So, if he were to start dating or pursue a relationship actively, both his father and mother would certainly spare no effort in supporting Tang Su.
It can’t be promised about others, but certainly, none of his family would dare to bully Tang Su, that’s for sure.
It’s just uncertain whether Tang Su and her family could accept his parents’ age difference and having a group of people about the same age as her parents calling her “younger sister.”
And those not much younger than her having to call her “auntie” or something of the sort.
Not everyone can accept a change in familial standing just because of marriage.
Tang Su regained her composure and shook her head, “It’s not that, just a bit unexpected.”
“And he even wants me to act in a movie, which I can’t do and am not interested in,” Tang Su continued.
“Don’t bother with him, he won’t dare to bother you again. How much did he compensate you? Are you satisfied?” Lu Han changed the topic.
“Yes, the amount was quite fair. He didn’t haggle with us merchants and was a reasonable boss,” Tang Su nodded, for he was Lu Han’s relative, she had decided that she would be more courteous if they encountered each other on Culture Street again.
“Tired?”
“Not at all,” Tang Su smiled back. How could she be tired when with Lu Han?
“If you’re not tired, shall we go to the hospital to visit Tongtong?”
“Sure, that sounds good. The gift for Tongtong is even in the trunk; no need for another trip,” she replied.
Tang Su was always ready to visit Tongtong with Lu Han, so she had kept “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” in the trunk.
“Great, let’s go now.”
“Okay.”
Before heading there, Lu Han called Tongtong’s guardian, who might have been busy because they didn’t answer.
Lu Han then called the nurse’s station, asked them to pass a message to Tongtong saying he would bring a beautiful sister to visit him shortly.
When Tongtong heard what the nurse conveyed, he immediately knew that this beautiful sister must be Doctor Lu’s girlfriend.
“Okay, thank you, nurse sister,” Tongtong said happily, but he didn’t mention to the nurse that she was Doctor Lu’s girlfriend.
Before his parents left, they had specifically reminded him to behave, so he didn’t dare to speak recklessly.
Besides, he wasn’t the only child in the hospital; if he received a gift and the others did not, that would put Doctor Lu and his girlfriend in an awkward position.
Half an hour later, Lu Han came over with Tang Su.
At the entrance, the hardworking Lu Han finally handed the set of books to Tang Su, letting her personally give it to Tongtong.
The two entered the ward, where Tongtong’s grandmother was alone, peeling an apple for Tongtong. Tongtong didn’t want to eat, so her grandmother had to eat it herself.
Seeing Lu Han, Tongtong’s grandmother stood up, smiling as she greeted him, “Doctor Lu, you’ve come to see Tongtong?”
“Yes, this is Tang Su, my girlfriend. She has prepared a gift for Tongtong,” Lu Han said.
“Oh, Doctor Lu’s girlfriend is so pretty, thank you,” Tongtong’s grandmother hastily expressed her gratitude. Her son and daughter-in-law had mentioned this before, saying she was Doctor Lu’s girlfriend, but they had told her not to ask about it unless Doctor Lu introduced her himself.
Unless Doctor Lu took the initiative to introduce her.
Old ladies tend to be talkative, and in front of her were a perfect match, a couple that was handsome and beautiful.
“Thank you, Grandma Tongtong. Hello, Tongtong, I’m Auntie Tang Su,” Tang Su thanked Tongtong’s grandmother for her generous praise, then went to Tongtong’s side and introduced herself.
At the age of twenty-four, she couldn’t compete with seventeen or eighteen-year-old girls in youth, but she wasn’t yet thirty either.
Still, she was old enough to be Tongtong’s aunt.
“This is for you, a set of books. I hope you like it.”
Tang Su handed over the gift.
“Thank you, Sister Tang Su,” Tongtong accepted it.
A complete set of “Sherlock Holmes Detective Stories” was quite heavy, and Tongtong’s small hands couldn’t hold it, but Tang Su quickly helped her catch it.
“I’ll help you hold it, you unwrap it,” Tang Su, sitting by his bed, tenderly said.
“Mm, thank you, sister,” Tongtong sweetly said. Tang Su was so cute and lovely that if Doctor Lu hadn’t said she was his girlfriend, Tongtong might have thought Tang Su was just a high school student at most.
He really couldn’t bring himself to call her auntie.
“You’re welcome. Do you call Doctor Lu ‘brother’ or ‘uncle’?” Tang Su asked.
“I always call him Doctor Lu,” Tongtong answered.
“So is he your brother or your uncle?” Tang Su pursed her lips in confusion. Calling her sister would mean having to call Lu Han brother; otherwise, if she called Lu Han uncle, then wouldn’t calling her sister be skipping a generation?
She didn’t want to be a generation apart from Lu Han.
“Neither a brother nor an uncle, just Doctor Lu, what are you thinking about?” Lu Han walked over.
Tang Su also knew that what she was fretting about wasn’t a big issue.
So she stopped worrying about it.
Just as Lu Han was about to say something else, his phone began to ring.
“Tongtong, let your sister keep you company for a while. I’m going out to take a call,” he said.
The latter part was addressed to Tang Su.
“Mm,” Tongtong nodded.
“Go ahead, don’t worry about me,” Tang Su nodded.
“Alright.”
Lu Han turned around, his demeanor changing from the tenderness he showed Tang Su, and stepped outside before answering the call.
