30: Chapter 30 The Conspiracy of the City Lord Mansion 30: Chapter 30 The Conspiracy of the City Lord Mansion Seeing the brawny man approaching, the City Lord’s son was almost scared out of his wits.

Even Black Tiger, with his Martial Arts Sect strength, couldn’t catch the brawny man’s single axe strike.

His own Great Martial Master status, artificially boosted by external forces, was even less worth mentioning.

“Don’t kill this kid yet, he might be useful,” the shorty said to the brawny man.

“I know, I’m just scaring him.” The brawny man gave a simple-minded smile and said.

“Please don’t kill me, my father is the City Lord, I’ll give you anything you want,” the City Lord’s son pleaded for his life, quickly dropping to his knees and kowtowing.

Even a large swelling appeared on his forehead, which looked ludicrous.

It seems that under the threat of death, such family scions accustomed to flaunting their power can easily give up their dignity.

The shorty walked into the middle of the battlefield littered with severed limbs and broken bodies.

The scene of the brawny man swinging his giant axe was filled with a violent aesthetic.

Now, the site was devoid of anyone even capable of groaning.

All were dead.

However, such bloody scenes were not to the shorty’s liking.

What the shorty enjoyed was the art of killing.

The shorty gently opened the bulging pouch at his waist, and two snakes as thick as fingers crawled out.

One black and one white, the two snakes looked almost identical, like twins.

After crawling out of the pouch, they didn’t hurry elsewhere.

Instead, they affectionately crawled onto the shorty’s arm and coiled in the palm of his hand, proudly raising their heads and hissing.

The shorty stretched out a finger from his other hand, and the two snakes each bit one, forcefully sucking the shorty’s blood.

After a moment, the shorty withdrew his slightly pale fingers and pointed to the severed limbs on the ground.

The two snakes reluctantly slithered down from the shorty’s arm, and the moment they touched the ground, they transformed into two huge pythons.

They swept through the severed limbs on the ground as easily as autumn wind sweeping fallen leaves, swallowing everything, not even sparing the mounts.

Even the blood on the ground was siphoned up by their flickering tongues and swallowed.

After eating their fill, their bodies shrank slowly back to their original size and slowly crawled back onto the shorty, burrowing into the pouch once again.

Witnessing this scene, the City Lord’s son even forgot to kowtow and plead for mercy.

In that instant, he was filled with regret for venturing out of the city.

These two people in front of him were terrifying.

He knew that even the major families in the city would be like powerless children in front of them.

“What’s your name?” The shorty, satisfied with the now-clean ground, smiled contentedly and turned his head to ask.

“My name is Gao Ming, the son of Pingyun City’s City Lord,” replied Gao Ming, a man who understood the situation well.

The best approach when facing two Cultivators of such strength was to comply with all their demands.

“Is there a Mu Family in Pingyun City?” The shorty asked while signaling to the brawny man with a glance.

The brawny man nodded to show he understood and picked up Gao Ming with one hand, walking away.

“Don’t kill me, my father is the City Lord of Pingyun City, he can give you anything you want,” Gao Ming thought the brawny man was going to kill him and cried out.

“Look at you, no better than trash.

I’m just taking you somewhere quiet to ask a few questions.

Besides, what kind of Treasure could a minor city’s City Lord have,” the brawny man said dismissively, scratching his ear with one hand.

How did the Mu Family manage to cultivate such fortune to produce a genius capable of joining the Immortal Ancient Academy from such a small city?

“I’ll tell you everything I know, just please don’t kill me.” Once he heard they were not going to kill him, Gao Ming’s anxiety immediately dissipated.

The burly man carried Gao Ming to a secluded corner and gently tossed him onto the ground with a look of disgust.

“What a useless guy, pissing and crapping himself like that, stinking up the place.”

“You’re complaining?

I told you to add a bit of artistry to your killing, and look how scared he got.”

Hearing the burly man complain, the short one kicked him again.

The burly man was used to being kicked.

Judging by his demeanor, letting the short one kick him ten or twenty times wouldn’t have been a problem.

“I’m going to ask you some questions.

You better answer them truthfully, or else death will seem like a luxury compared to what I’ll do to you.” After kicking the burly man, the short one turned to Gao Ming and said.

His pair of triangular eyes, although filled with madness, were clear and transparent.

With just one look, Gao Ming knew that this man was not only insane but also powerfully so.

“Ask away, as long as I know it, I’ll tell you everything,” Gao Ming said, eager to save his life, even willing to disclose how many women his father slept with each day to these two people.

“Do you know about the Mu Family from Pingyun City?” The short one asked, upon seeing how cooperative Gao Ming was.

“Of course, isn’t the Mu Family the number one clan in Pingyun City?

Those Mu people, relying on their family’s power, have bullied me quite a lot,” Gao Ming said, filled with resentment when mentioning the Mu Family.

The son of the City Lord of Pingyun City was actually afraid of someone in his city, which made Gao Ming feel extremely humiliated.

“Oh?

So you know about a person from the Mu Family named Mu Can?” The short one asked excitedly upon hearing that Gao Ming had a grudge against the Mu Family.

“Mu Can?

Isn’t that the genius from back then?

I remember when he joined the Immortal Ancient Academy, my father even sent gifts to the Mu Family congratulating them.

But didn’t he become crippled later on?

These past few years only Mu Xing and Mu Chen ever came out to roam around, but I heard from my father that they died today.”

Gao Ming hadn’t attended the Mu Family’s wedding at noon today; he only heard from his father in the afternoon that there was a huge calamity in the Mu Family, with both Mu Xing and Mu Chen dead, and the Pingyun City Lord had ordered him to report the news to Longming City.

If he had attended the event at noon, he surely would have become familiar with the name Mu Can, a name that, as of today, became once again well-known throughout Pingyun City.

Upon hearing about the Mu Family’s disaster, Gao Ming immediately set off to deliver the message as his father had commanded.

Little did he know, he would encounter these two brothers on the way, and his entire escort was annihilated except for himself.

“Dead?

What happened?” The short one asked curiously.

Based on the timeline, Xuanyuan and his party would have arrived in Pingyun City around noon.

Could all this be connected to Xuanyuan?

“I heard from my father that someone came for revenge and killed Mu Family’s Second Master and his two sons.” Gao Ming didn’t know the details but regretted not attending Mu Chen’s wedding.

Those brothers had bullied him often, and if he could have seen them die, it would have been very satisfying for him.

“Oh, so what news are you supposed to report?” The short one nodded, suggesting that although Gao Ming did not know much, he hadn’t lied.

“My father said that the Mu Family’s Fire King Cauldron has appeared, and he sent me to report to Longming City.

Longming City’s City Lord has a son who is a Pill Master, and he wants to bring him over to help exterminate the Mu Family.” Gao Ming dared not lie and had to reveal the Pingyun City Lord’s intentions exactly as they were.

What the Gao Family desired was simple: the alliance of the two cities to eradicate the Mu Family, and from then on, the Gao Family in Pingyun City would reign supreme, truly becoming the Sovereign of Pingyun City.

With so much commotion, the notion that the Mu Family’s Ancestor hadn’t intervened led the Gao Family to believe that the Ancestor must have died.

Even given Mu Can’s remarkable performance today, the Pingyun City Lord believed this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
