CHAPTER 14: PRS 14

Time flies. It’s been a week since the Phoenix System helped Isabella Clark out of her slump after she was divorced and cruelly thrown out by the Mahendra family.

Because the past few days had been busy and there were no special missions, today, after showering and changing, Isabella sat relaxed on the edge of her bed. She wanted to check the status panel she had neglected for three days.

"Phoenix System, I want to check in today and display my status panel," she commanded calmly.

"Not bad," Isabella murmured with satisfaction, staring at the hologram screen floating before her eyes.

After a light breakfast, Isabella went down to the parking lot and sped away in her brand-new Mercedes-Benz.

For the past three days, Isabella had been busy managing two upcoming businesses. For the coffee shop, Jery helped oversee the installation of equipment and decorations. Their collaboration allowed Isabella to focus on the stationery store she was preparing.

That day, besides waiting for the goods to arrive, Isabella was overseeing the installation of additional CCTV cameras inside the shophouse. Suddenly, a middle-aged man with a thick mustache entered, his face furious.

"Who dares take my shophouse without notice!" he shouted loudly.

Isabella turned, suppressing her surprise. Despite her shock, she remained polite. "Excuse me, sir, who are you? I’m the new shophouse owner."

This response only further enraged the mustachioed man. "Presumptuous! Who are you to dare take the shophouse I’ve been eyeing for so long!" he shouted, his eyes glaring.

Isabella stared at him calmly. From his expression, she guessed the man must be one of the potential buyers who had been slowest. "Then you were too slow. I already made the purchase four days ago," Isabella explained in a flat tone.

The man, whose name turned out to be Mr. Ali, became increasingly furious. "What right do you have to buy the shophouse I’ve been bidding on for so long?"

Isabella sighed, trying to be patient. "You’ve only just made an offer, while I’ve already legally executed the transaction. If you continue to cause trouble, I’ll call the police."

The subtle threat made Mr. Ali back off slightly, but his ego held him back. "Do you have any proof that I’m threatening you?" he challenged fiercely.

Isabella was losing her patience. She tapped her phone screen, searching for the nearest police station. "Good afternoon, sir. I’m Isabella Clark, the owner of a shophouse in front of Orange Campus No. 08. I’d like to report a rioter who broke in and threatened me—"

Before she finished speaking, Mr. Ali snatched her phone and threw it, shattering it. "Y-you...!" she shouted nervously before fleeing the shophouse.

Several employees who were helping Isabella set up the shop were immediately shocked. "Oh my God, Miss Isabella, your phone!" one of them exclaimed.

Isabella remained calm. She walked over to the CCTV technician in front of the shophouse. "Is the CCTV active?" she asked.

"Yes, Miss. The footage from earlier is clearly recorded," the technician replied, showing her laptop screen.

"Good. Please keep a copy of the recording. I also want to add some camera points on the second floor," Isabella said firmly.

Shortly afterward, two police officers rushed in after hearing the report. "Are you Miss Isabella?" one of them asked.

"Yes, I reported it," Isabella replied firmly.

They were relieved to see Isabella safe and immediately followed up. Armed with CCTV footage, employee testimony, and technicians, the police immediately searched for Mr. Ali, who turned out to own a laundry business in shophouse number 02.

When the police approached, Mr. Ali hid for a while, but finally surrendered after receiving a stern warning.

Elsewhere, Olivia was forced to flee abroad with her lover to cover her tracks. She never expected Revan and his family to report her to the police simply for stealing jewelry worth hundreds of millions.

"Damn! If I’d known they were that stingy, I never would have returned to Revan’s arms," she grumbled to herself. Luckily, her beautiful face was enough to lure a wealthy, lustful man who bought her an apartment as a temporary hiding place until the case died down.
