CHAPTER 41: PRS 41

It seemed Miranda wasn’t the only one facing dismissal today.

Tamara, a young manager at MIO Entertainment, had just returned from a meeting with a client. As soon as she entered the lobby, a sight caught her eye that made her heart boil. Arjuna, the director she secretly had a crush on, was walking with a beautiful, dignified young woman into the executive elevator.

"Who is that girl?! How dare she walk so close to Arjuna! Where did she come from? How can Arjuna be so respectful to her? This can’t be tolerated!" Tamara thought furiously. Her jaw was tense, and her knuckles were clenched around her bag.

She hurriedly pressed the button for the employee elevator that happened to stop in front of her. "Damn it! If she dares to mess with the man I’m after, I won’t stand still! I’ve had my eye on Arjuna for a long time; there’s no way I’ll lose to a nerdy girl like that!" she growled inwardly.

Tamara was completely blinded by jealousy. In her haste, she didn’t even have time to check her phone—unaware that her co-worker, Miranda, had just been dishonorably discharged after publicly embarrassing the company’s new owner. Tamara had no idea she was heading toward a major disaster that could destroy her own career.

Upon reaching the fourth floor, Isabella excused herself to use the bathroom for a quick visit before discussing the company’s major restructuring plans.

"Okay, Miss Isabella. I’ll wait in the director’s office. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me anytime," Arjuna said politely.

Isabella nodded with a faint smile, then stepped into the women’s restroom, accompanied by Siva, who had always been loyal to her.

But from afar, Tamara had been watching their every move. Her gaze was sharp, filled with suspicion and hatred. She waited a few seconds, then followed Isabella’s steps toward the restroom.

"How dare that woman walk with Arjuna like that! She doesn’t know her place! Who does she think she is? A new actress seeking attention? Or a cheap model trying to seduce the director?" Tamara muttered sarcastically, her heels clicking rapidly against the floor.

Siva, who had also entered the restroom, quickly noticed Tamara’s suspicious behavior—the young woman, dressed in tight clothing and smelling of strong perfume, was standing in front of the mirror, staring at one of the closed stalls, where Isabella was.

Siva was immediately suspicious. She quickly turned on her phone camera discreetly and placed it in the corner of the sink to record whatever was about to happen. Then, she pretended to leave.

Sure enough, seconds after Siva left, Tamara stepped closer to the stall. Her gaze was filled with jealousy. "A whore like you doesn’t deserve to be near Arjuna. Experience this! I’ll teach you how to respect someone who’s been working here for a while! You think you can just come in and get special attention?!" she shouted loudly as soon as Isabella emerged from the stall.

Tamara grabbed Isabella’s hair roughly. Startled, Isabella only took a half step back. But her quick reflexes allowed her to grab Tamara’s hand and slam her hard onto the floor.

"Arghhhh! Let go of me! You’ll regret going against me!" Tamara screamed loudly.

The sound of her body hitting the marble floor echoed, causing several men who had just emerged from the adjacent restroom to stop immediately.

Some of them tried to approach, seeing a woman lying on the floor. However, Tamara was acting out. She stared at them pitifully, tears welling in her eyes.

"Why are you bullying me? I don’t know you, why are you treating me this badly? I was just passing by and suddenly I was attacked! Help me, you’re all witnesses, right? They started it!" she said in a trembling voice, trying to garner sympathy.

One of the men, feeling sorry for her, almost stepped forward to help, but stopped when his eyes caught Isabella’s face—the woman who had been sitting in the lobby just that morning and had nearly been injured by Miranda before it was revealed that she was the owner of MIO Entertainment.

The man immediately paled. Oh my God, that’s the company owner! he thought in panic.

Realizing the situation, the few people present exchanged glances and slowly backed away.

"Sorry, Tamara. I still have work to finish. The client’s deadline is really tight, I have to get back to the office," one of them said hurriedly, followed by the others who quickly pretended to be busy.

Soon, only Isabella and Tamara were left in the room.

Watching everyone leave, Tamara glared at Isabella angrily. "You think you can get me fired with one word, huh?! I won’t stay silent! I have strong backing in this company! Do you know who’s protecting me? Mr. Heru! One of the largest shareholders! He won’t stay silent if I get fired!"

Isabella simply smiled slightly, coldly but authoritatively. "I don’t need to say much. The evidence is enough. Do you think your backing will protect your bad behavior forever?" She turned toward the sink and grabbed Siva’s phone, which had been recording everything.

Tamara’s expression immediately turned to panic. "What are you doing?! Give me that phone! You can’t record me without permission! It’s illegal! I can report you to the police!" She tried to grab it, but her hasty steps caused her to slip on the slippery floor.

THUD!

She fell again, this time in a much more embarrassing position.

"Damn it! Why is today so unlucky?! Damn it! It’s all your fault! You must have made the floor slippery on purpose!" she shouted angrily, kicking a small bucket beside her. Water spilled everywhere, causing the employees passing by the restroom to stare in surprise but feign ignorance.

Isabella didn’t say anything. She simply sighed, then walked out with Siva, who had returned to accompany her.

All the employees they passed immediately bowed deeply. No one dared to whisper, let alone look. The atmosphere in the office was tense.

As soon as Isabella entered the director’s office with Arjuna, a few minutes later, small whispers broke out among the staff.

"Tamara’s luck is really unlucky today," said one of the men who had witnessed the incident in the restroom. "How could she attack the owner of her own company? She’s usually the best at trying to curry favor with her superiors."

"Do you think she’ll be fired like Miranda? But she has Mr. Heru’s backing. Maybe she can still survive?" asked her colleague.

"Of course she’ll be fired," another replied. "Even Miranda only grumbled, and Tamara even got involved. It’s clear she’s finished. Backing her or not, if she attacks the company owner directly, there’s no mercy."

Before their gossip could finish, Tamara emerged from the bathroom with a limp. Her face was bright red, her hair a mess.

"Are you guys looking around?! Go to work, you unemployed people in uniform! Do you think you’re getting paid to gossip?! Do you want me to report you to HR?!" she shouted in a high-pitched voice. Everyone immediately returned to their desks, pretending to be busy typing.

Deep down, almost everyone hoped the woman would actually be fired. Tamara was known for her arrogance. She always acted as if she was immune to regulations because she felt protected by one of the company’s major shareholders.

Meanwhile, in the director’s office, Isabella sat quietly in the main chair. Arjuna was showing her a video recording from Siva’s phone.

Arjuna rubbed his face in frustration. "Miss Isabella... I really didn’t expect Tamara to be so rude. I haven’t been able to do much because she’s protected by one of the major shareholders. Every time there’s a complaint about her, Mr. Heru always defends her and threatens to withdraw his investment."

Isabella crossed her legs, staring calmly at the screen. "I don’t care who protects her. Employees like that will only devalue the company. Starting today, Tamara is fired. And please, Arjuna, make sure she’s blacklisted like Miranda. I don’t want her bad name to tarnish the reputation of our entertainment industry."

Arjuna nodded obediently. "Yes, Miss. I’ll take action immediately. I’ll contact HR right now to process her dismissal."

Isabella then looked at him sharply. "How many shareholders are left now? I need to know the detailed ownership structure of this company."

"Only two people, Miss," Arjuna replied. "Mr. Heru and Mr. Petra. Mr. Heru owns 20 percent of the shares, while Petra only owns 8 percent. Both of them want to meet with you in person. They’ve been waiting since this morning, in fact."

Isabella nodded slowly. "Okay. I want to end this matter as soon as possible. Before I came to the capital, I already requested that the other shares be purchased by my family company. I need full control if I want to improve MIO Entertainment. No more outsiders can interfere in operational decisions."

"I’ve arranged it, Miss," Arjuna replied. "And I’ve invited those two people. They’re waiting in the meeting room. But I must warn you, Mr. Heru is quite stubborn and likes to intimidate. Meanwhile, Mr. Petra is more cunning, he likes to play behind our backs."

"Good," Isabella said, standing. "But before that, let’s discuss a few changes to the rules. I want a complete overhaul of the company’s system — everything must be managed based on performance and attitude. No more employees staying just because of connections. Everyone must be professional and have a good work ethic."

Arjuna stared in admiration. "You’re truly different, Miss Isabella. It looks like a new era is beginning at MIO Entertainment. I fully support your vision."

Isabella smiled faintly. "We’ll see. I hope everything goes smoothly."

A few minutes later, they walked into the meeting room. All the employees they passed immediately bowed their heads, including Tamara, who was quietly peeking from behind her door, her face pale.

"If he really is the new company owner, I still have Mr. Heru on my side," she thought arrogantly. "He’ll definitely protect me. He promised to always be there for me. There’s no way he’ll let that nerdy girl fire me."

But as Isabella entered the meeting room, all that arrogance slowly vanished. Two middle-aged men were already waiting inside—Mr. Heru and Mr. Petra, the two remaining shareholders.

Arjuna politely introduced them. "Miss Isabella Clark, the new owner of MIO Entertainment. And this is Mr. Heru and Mr. Petra, long-time shareholders who have been with the company since its inception."

Heru and Petra immediately scanned Isabella from head to toe. They made no secret of their disdain.

"So this is the new owner?" Petra said condescendingly. "She’s so young. She looks like she just graduated from college. Are you sure you can manage a company this big, young lady?"

Isabella simply smiled dryly. "Mr. Heru, Mr. Petra, what about my share purchase offer? Have you both made a decision? I don’t have time for small talk."

The two of them looked at each other and smirked. "If you dare to buy our shares for five times the current market price," Heru said mockingly, "we’ll let you go. But I’m sure you don’t have that much money. A young girl like you is probably just being reckless."

Isabella turned to Arjuna without hesitation. "Prepare the share sale agreement. Right now, Mr. Arjuna."

Arjuna handed over the document, and Isabella added, "As soon as you sign, I’ll transfer the money immediately—as you requested. Five times the market price. Not a penny less."

Petra looked surprised but quickly signed, and a few seconds later a transfer notification came through on her phone. Seeing this, Heru signed with a sly smile.

They thought Isabella was foolish—buying shares in a company they planned to destroy from within. But Isabella just stared at them coldly.

"Thank you for your cooperation," she said firmly. "From today on, I am the sole majority shareholder in MIO Entertainment. And I promise, this company will be much bigger without people who only care about profiteering. Goodbye, Mr. Heru, Mr. Petra. May your money bring you happiness."
