CHAPTER 62: PRS 62

Isabella, who had gained control of her goddess’s eye, was now attempting to use her mind-reading ability to extract important information from the capital of the nation of South Korea.

"Tsk, there’s nothing interesting to follow. It’s all just nonsense. They’re all hypocrites and full of lies. Not a single one speaks from their conscience," Isabella thought disappointedly as she looked at the crowd of lavishly dressed guests surrounding her.

All the guests were like actors and actresses, skilled at playing with words and expressions. Their faces were smiling kindly, but their hearts were filled with envy, jealousy, and self-interest. If only Isabella couldn’t hear their thoughts, perhaps she wouldn’t be so disgusted. Her goddess’s eye truly opened her eyes to the dark side of this elite world.

Andra, spotting Romano and James among the guests at the party, immediately whispered into her earphones in a low, cautious voice.

"Isabella, listen carefully. At 2 o’clock, the man in the black suit with blond hair is Romano. He’s the mastermind behind all their covert operations. And at 6 o’clock, the chubby man in the navy blue suit is James, the corrupt prime minister. Both of them are very dangerous," Andra said seriously.

Isabella, having heard the information from her uncle, immediately turned her attention to the two men who were conversing with their clients. Her eyes focused on their every move.

A text appeared above the two men’s heads, explaining their current state of mind. Romano, who was being approached by several people trying to curry favor with him, silently cursed.

"You idiots. They think they can gain an advantage by cursing me? You’re all just pawns in my chess game," Romano thought, maintaining a friendly smile on his face.

While James looked a little lost in thought, he was still contemplating where to send Orion to avoid being tracked by the Alegra family. He completely ignored his interlocutor, who seemed eager to flatter him with effusive praise.

"LN City might be a safe place. Or should I send him even further away? This is very complicated. The Alegra family has spies everywhere," Jonathan thought anxiously.

Isabella, finding James’s thoughts more interesting and useful, continued to observe the pot-bellied man closely without appearing suspicious.

"LN City, 10 PM. Don’t let him escape. Capture him before he has a chance to flee the city," Isabella said into her earphones in a firm and calculating tone.

After receiving the news through her earphones and seeing the code the girl had provided, the two core members of Dark Evil at the party immediately set off to pursue their target. They moved quickly, disappearing into the crowd without attracting attention.

Willi, who had been observing Isabella’s interactions with Andra and the core members of Dark Evil, was amazed and surprised by the young girl’s abilities.

"Wow, your girl is truly amazing, King. In just one day, she was able to subdue the core members of Dark Evil and gain their trust. This is truly incredible. Even veterans take years to earn that kind of trust," Willi said in awe, shaking his head in disbelief.

Everyone in the underworld knows who the core members of Dark Evil are. They are the core members of the Alegra family, renowned for their unwavering loyalty. Their loyalty has been tested in countless battles and dangerous situations.

They are not easily subdued; even the next leader, who will become the ruler of Dark Evil, must earn the trust of the core members before they can truly establish themselves as leader. This is a tradition that cannot be broken.

Andra, the fifth-generation leader, took over a year to bring them under his feet and earn their absolute trust. He had to pass numerous tests and prove his abilities in extremely dangerous situations before finally being fully accepted.

But now, Isabella, a girl who had only been discovered a few months ago and had lived in Country S for less than a day, had already subdued the core members of Dark Evil so naturally and convincingly. Of course, this would surprise anyone, including Willi and Morgan, who had been watching the beautiful girl’s movements with great interest.

"You’d better quickly reveal your identity before that girl is truly taken away by someone else. I heard she already has a boyfriend, a successful businessman from country I. You have to act fast, King," Willi said provocatively with a grin.

"That’s right, King. Isabella needs to know that she already has a fiancé, and that’s you, Morgan Elio Cromson. You are her legally-wed husband. Don’t let her continue being with another man," Devid also added enthusiastically, causing Morgan to immediately put down his glass and walk leisurely toward where Alegra’s immediate family was with confident strides.

Isabella, who was chatting with her family, suddenly felt someone watching her intently. As soon as she turned, she saw a handsome man walking toward her with a cold, flat gaze yet full of charisma. His aura was powerful and captivating.

With her goddess-like eyes, Isabella could see clearly what was under the handsome man’s black long-sleeved shirt.

"Crazy! His body is so great. This guy must work out a lot to have such sexy abs. A perfect six-pack. And wow... what’s that? So big and long!" Isabella screamed inwardly as her gaze inadvertently landed on Morgan’s lower body. Her face immediately turned bright red.

[Host, you’re getting more and more perverted. This is going too far!]

The Phoenix System’s quip suddenly soured Isabella’s mood and made her feel utterly embarrassed.

"Whose fault is this? This special ability shouldn’t be called the eyes of a goddess, but the eyes of a pervert! This is really tarnishing my eyes. I didn’t mean to see things like that!" she said angrily to herself as she tried to avert her gaze.

[But Host, you like it, right? Look, Host, that handsome man’s physique and features are far superior to your boyfriend, Alesio Xander. Objectively, he’s superior in every way.]

Isabella subconsciously nodded in agreement before her senses returned and she quickly shook her head in panic.

"No! Alesio is still the best! He’s the perfect man for me. No one can beat him!" she argued stubbornly in her heart, even though her face was still red.

Morgan, realizing that Isabella was staring at him with a blush, began to feel embarrassed and happy.

"My charm is truly remarkable. Even my fiancée can’t take her eyes off my handsome face. It seems she fell in love at first sight. This is easier than I thought," Morgan thought narcissistically and confidently.

Isabella, hearing Morgan’s voice, was shocked, as she hadn’t expected that behind the man’s blank facade, there was a very different, funny and adorable side. This also made her miss Alesio, who also had that side.

"Arghhh! I miss Alesio when he’s like this. Why does this man remind me of him? This isn’t good. I have to stay focused," she muttered to herself, letting out a long sigh.

But when she realized something very important, Isabella couldn’t help but look at the text above his head. Her eyes widened as she read Morgan’s thoughts.

"My fiancée’s behavior is truly adorable. I really want to officially marry her so I can stare at her all the time. She’s absolutely perfect. Beautiful, intelligent, and has a powerful aura. Perfect to be Queen Cromson."

What Morgan was thinking made Isabella frown deeply, her expression confused and a little panicked.

"Fiancée? Who exactly is he referring to? Is it me? It can’t be, right? This is my first time seeing him!" Isabella thought anxiously.

[Of course the handsome man is referring to Host. There’s no way he’s engaged to Host’s mommy or great-grandmother, right? They’re old. Just be logical, Host!]

Hearing Phoenix Sistem’s blunt remark, Isabella glanced left, right, and behind her, confirming who he was referring to. Indeed, only herself, her mommy, and her great-grandmother, who were women, were present. Meanwhile, her second sister, Bianca, and several of her friends were across the table, quite a distance away.

Realizing this, Isabella felt a strong sense of foreboding hit her chest.

"Damn! I forgot that a conglomerate family like this would have had a marriage vow since infancy! This is a big deal. What about Alesio? I already promised him!" she muttered to herself in panic.

It wasn’t just Isabella who was uneasy watching Morgan stride toward them confidently; Yuan and Michele felt the same way. Cold sweat began to break out on their foreheads.

They had just met and hadn’t discussed the details with the girl, including the engagement they had made to the Cromson family while Isabella was still pregnant. The agreement was made decades ago and couldn’t be broken so easily.

Given the girl’s stubbornness and her status as a deeply loved man, Alegra’s family feared that if this were suddenly revealed and Isabella strongly opposed it, it was possible they would lose her again. Isabella would certainly choose to leave her family rather than be engaged to someone she didn’t love. They didn’t want to take that risk.

To avoid any untoward incidents that could ruin the festive atmosphere, Yuan walked forward quickly and embraced Morgan with a broad smile, trying to appear relaxed despite his apprehension.

"Hello, King. It’s so nice of you to come tonight. Where’s your grandfather, Lasarus? Why haven’t I seen him around? He’s usually never absent from important events like this," he asked, trying to distract Morgan from his granddaughter with questions.

"Grandpa’s old illness has flared up again, so he can’t come tonight. The doctor advised him to rest completely. Grandpa has only left a special gift and his deepest apologies for Mrs. Berti. He’s very sorry he can’t be there," Morgan said kindly with a polite smile.

"It’s okay, King. We understand. Old people like us aren’t as strong as we used to be. Tell Lasarus not to push himself too hard in this windy weather or he’ll suffer like he did before. He needs to take good care of his health," Berti said with concern and a sincere tone.

"Okay, I’ll convey Madam’s message later, although I’m not sure Grandpa will listen. He’s very stubborn and always wants to do whatever he wants. Sometimes we all get overwhelmed by him," Morgan said, a little complaining but full of affection.

"That’s how old people are. They have their own egos. You young people need to be more patient and deal with him wisely." Berti knew her son’s friend’s temperament well enough, so she could only ask Morgan to be patient with Lasarus’s behavior, which was sometimes a bit annoying to others, but he was actually a good person.

Seeing Morgan fix his gaze on Isabella with such intense and meaningful eyes, the Alegra family members couldn’t hide it any longer. Sooner or later, Isabella would have to know about this. Better now than later.

"This is my great-grandson, King, who was just found. He’s our family’s treasure, lost for 22 years," Berti introduced proudly, embracing Isabella gently.

"Isabella, this is Morgan Elio Cromson, also known as King. He’s the grandson of your grandfather’s best friend, Yuan. The Cromson family is a respected family with long-standing friendships with our family," Berti introduced Morgan to Isabella with a warm smile.

"Greetings, young master Elio. Nice to meet you," Isabella said politely, extending her hand for a handshake.

"Elio! So that’s my nickname. It sounds so intimate and sweet. I like it," Morgan thought, pleased and flattered.

Isabella frowned slightly, not expecting her spontaneous remark to be so deeply misunderstood by Morgan. Even trying to explain it was impossible, as what the girl heard was an inner voice she couldn’t possibly share with anyone. So she simply remained silent with an awkward smile, hoping the situation would pass quickly.
