Chapter 64: PRS 63
CHAPTER 64: PRS 63
Orion never imagined his life would be this bad after Alegra’s family discovered he was an accomplice to the kidnapper who kidnapped their youngest granddaughter 22 years ago. Everything he had built over the years had collapsed in an instant.
If he could turn back time, he wouldn’t have followed Elie’s advice just for the sake of empty promises that didn’t actually benefit him much. Elie’s sweet promises turned out to be nothing but empty promises. They were all false and misleading.
The life he’d been living was now in jeopardy. The magnificent mansion, the luxury sports cars, and all the luxuries he’d enjoyed were about to disappear. He was even forced to leave the capital to prevent his grand plans from falling apart.
Orion, powerless to refuse, finally gave in and followed James’s instructions to hide in the city of LN for a while. He had no choice but to obey their orders.
"This is all for your own safety, Orion. If you stay in the capital, Alegra’s family will easily find you, and you know what will happen," James said threateningly over the phone.
Having just left the capital with a sizable entourage, Orion, bringing a hundred of his men, was suddenly surrounded in the middle of the road by unknown forces. They appeared from all directions, making a firefight inevitable. The sound of gunfire shattered the silence of the night.
In the fierce battle, more than half of Orion’s men were tragically killed. Blood splattered everywhere, forcing the man to flee in a vehicle he had stolen in the middle of the road, unable to use it anymore due to its severe damage and bullet holes.
"Quick! We have to get out of here! They’ll attack again!" Orion shouted frantically to his remaining men.
Orion, pursued by the core members of Dark Evil, continued to run aimlessly. To him, the further he got, the better. He only wanted to save his own life.
"Damn! How can they keep following me like this? It’s like they can track my every move. This doesn’t make sense!" he muttered in frustration as he continued to press the accelerator.
BANG! BANG! BANG!!!
The sound of gunfire continued to accompany his car, which was beginning to lose direction and control. Bullets rained down on him from every angle. Before the car he was in exploded in flames, Orion jumped out swiftly and disappeared into the small alleys along the side of the road. He was wounded in several places, but he ignored them.
He continued running as fast as he could without looking back, afraid that if he stopped, the pursuing enemy would easily catch him. His breath was ragged, but his legs kept running.
He also smashed his cell phone by stomping on it until it was crushed and threw it into the gutter so no one could find his trail.
"They won’t be able to track me anymore. The GPS on my phone is destroyed. I have to stay alive," he muttered as he continued running.
James hadn’t brought much money because he had arranged everything, including his living expenses, for his stay in the foreign city with a trusted person whom Orion was required to meet upon arrival. However, that plan had now fallen apart, leaving him to hide in a slum, where the marginalized people lived. Not only could he stay for free and without identification, but this also served as a temporary hideout while he found a way to reach the foreign city to seek the promised help.
Orion, exhausted and covered in wounds, decided to rest for a moment in an old, nearly collapsed building before continuing his journey. He slept with one eye open, alert for danger.
After a night’s rest in dire conditions, Orion found someone willing to help him get to the foreign city by handing over all the money he had brought as a deposit. He had no choice but to trust the stranger.
"I will get you to the foreign city safely, but on the condition that you pay extra if there are any problems along the way," the man said with a suspicious look.
However, his journey was not easy and was fraught with obstacles. The city of LN, his intended destination, the safe haven James had provided, was also besieged by Dark Evil forces. And worse yet, the trusted person he was supposed to meet had also been brutally murdered. This forced Orion to turn around and desperately try to contact James, begging for a solution and better protection.
"James! The place you said was safe is surrounded! Your people are dead! I need a new plan now!" Orion shouted in frustration over the phone.
James, who had received several calls from Orion using a disposable number, was also panicked and overwhelmed by the situation. He had never imagined that Elie could cause such a storm. The domino effect was devastating.
If he had known it would end like this, James would probably have eliminated the old woman long ago before it was too late. Elie’s benefits were limited. Although Nana bore the name Alegra, he held no power within the family, so they didn’t gain much from the partnership. And now, they had to bear a huge loss, threatening their position. Of course, they couldn’t accept this situation.
It was better to get rid of everything quickly to avoid leaving any traces, so James finally mobilized his men to eliminate Orion quietly. Orion had become a burden and a threat to them.
"Kill him. Don’t let him open his mouth," James coldly ordered his hitmen.
Now, two groups were targeting Orion with different objectives, leaving him in a state of panic and constantly on the move, trying to escape their deadly pursuit. However, due to his close communication with James, whom he constantly contacted for help, wherever he fled, the hitmen were always able to find him easily. James deliberately tracked him through his phone signal.
The astute Orion began to sense that those who were after him this time were different from before. Something was wrong with their attack pattern. Then, suddenly, a terrifying suspicion popped into his head.
"Damn! They want to kill me to keep me quiet! James and Romano want to get rid of me!" he said angrily, clenching his fists tightly.
He finally understood very clearly that James wanted to silence him permanently because he didn’t want to cause any future problems. Orion knew too many of their dark secrets.
Knowing James and Romano’s cruel and cowardly ways, Orion’s inner fire burned even more fiercely, and a blazing glint of revenge appeared in his eyes.
"I won’t be destroyed alone. If I have to go to hell, I’ll drag you both down with me! You will pay for this betrayal!" he muttered vengefully, his voice trembling with anger.
This was precisely the effect Isabella had desired from the start. Once Orion’s resentment deepened and gnawed at him, he would be able to reveal everything without further torture.
"Enough of this cat-and-mouse game. Now it’s time to gather all the evidence we need to destroy them," Isabella murmured softly with a faint smile.
She immediately contacted the core Dark Evil team, who were pursuing Orion, with his precise coordinates and instructed them to capture him alive and bring him to headquarters for further interrogation.
"Capture him alive. I need information from him. Don’t let him die," Isabella ordered firmly.
With the sophisticated satellite tracking device Isabella had provided from Phoenix Systems, they were able to easily apprehend Orion and immediately transport him, wounded, to Dark Evil headquarters for interrogation.
"I wonder how the young lady will interrogate this man? They say he’s very dangerous," said one of the core Dark Evil members curiously, staring at Orion, who was tied to a chair.
"Yes, I’m curious too, because I didn’t get to see him when I interrogated the spy yesterday. They said he was quite terrifying and sadistic. The young lady isn’t just beautiful; she’s also cruel," another murmured in a whisper.
Tak ta ta...
The sound of high heels echoed through the corridor, causing everyone to stop their conversation and stare at the goddess of death approaching with a graceful yet deadly air.
"Is he conscious yet? I don’t like waiting," Isabella asked flatly, her face expressionless.
"Yes, miss, I just woke up a few minutes ago. Please come in. We’ve prepared everything," said Andre, one of the core members of Dark Evil politely as he opened the door.
Seeing Isabella’s feminine and gentle appearance in her elegant dress, no one would have guessed that she would be so cruel in torturing her victims. Her appearance was a stark contrast to her reputation for cruelty.
As soon as the thick iron door of the holding room creaked open, Isabella entered with graceful strides and looked at Orion with a sinister grin that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end.
"Hello Orion, how are you today? I hope you had a pleasant journey," she greeted warmly but with a hint of sarcasm.
Orion simply glared sharply, his heart burning with resentment. If only he had killed the baby girl 22 years ago, instead of abandoning her to an orphanage, perhaps she wouldn’t have fallen into such a dire state. It was all his own fault.
Seeing that Orion didn’t respond well to her words, Isabella waved one hand gracefully, and a core member of Dark Evil entered the room carrying two bright red pills.
"Put these two pills in his mouth," Isabella ordered in a flat but firm tone.
Orion immediately clamped his mouth shut, knowing what Isabella had given him wasn’t good. He struggled to free himself.
SLACK!
A harsh, hard slap ripped Orion’s mouth open in pain, and the two pills dissolved instantly in his saliva, preventing him from spitting them out. They melted on his tongue.
In just a few seconds, Orion’s body felt incredibly hot, as if burning from the inside. Sweat began to pour down his face.
"What did you give me, you damned girl! What is this?! It’s so hot!" he muttered, rolling around in pain.
"Oh, it’s just the fire flower poison. A special gift from me to you," Isabella replied casually, calmly examining her nails.
Everyone in the room bulged, fully aware of how cruel the fire flower poison was. The poison, which has no antidote, causes the sufferer to experience a burning sensation, as if they were burning alive, and slowly, the affected person’s internal organs are destroyed one by one. And this torturous state would continue every hour without interruption. It made the sufferer feel like dying, but they couldn’t, as they would have to wait three months before the poison completely destroyed all their internal organs. It was a very slow and torturous death.
Isabella, unwilling to directly stain her hands with Orion’s blood, used the poison given to her by the Phoenix System, wanting to see how effective it was on humans.
In addition to the flame poison, Isabella also gave her a truth pill, allowing her to interrogate Orion easily without having to physically torture him.
"You bastard! I guarantee you won’t get anything from me! I won’t talk!" Orion shouted vengefully, even as his voice began to weaken.
"Really? Then let’s prove who wins," Isabella said with a disdainful look, crossing her legs gracefully.
Isabella began the interrogation in a smooth and structured manner. Although Orion tried to evade and restrain himself, he swallowed the honesty pill he had swallowed unconsciously, and even as he rolled around to endure the heat that spread throughout his body, he answered all of Isabella’s questions honestly, unable to control his words.
"Who ordered you to kidnap me 22 years ago?"
"Elie ordered me. He promised to give me a lot of money."
"Who else was involved?"
"James and Romano. They planned it all from the start."
Having obtained several important clues and the names of those involved, Isabella immediately ordered her men to search for evidence that Romano and James had accidentally left behind. It turned out that Orion had deliberately hidden it as a trump card against Romano and James in a desperate situation. Unfortunately, it was discovered by Isabella, who was very satisfied with Orion’s confessions today.
"Tighten security and don’t give him anything to eat or drink. Let him suffer until he dies slowly. That is the punishment he deserves," Isabella ordered, to which her men quickly and obediently nodded.
Some members, who felt the interrogation proceeded smoothly and without the usual gore of their colleagues who had witnessed Isabella interrogating previously captured spies, were slightly disappointed by the lack of any gory scenes.
But when they saw Orion’s suffering, as he continued to roll around in pain, his face pale and sweating, it seemed the girl’s punishment was far more cruel than simply cutting off the perpetrator’s hands, tongue, or gouging out the eyes, which were often used in the interrogation.
