Phoenix Revenge System
Chapter 65: PRS 65
CHAPTER 65: PRS 65
The night was cold and dry, with fallen leaves scattered across the deserted streets. Isabella walked alone along the sidewalk, trying to analyze everything. She leisurely paced, holding a cup of hot coffee she had just bought, occasionally taking sips, the warm, bittersweet flavor spreading through her mouth, clearing her mind.
"So that’s the pattern," Isabella murmured, beginning to discover the root of the impasse she had been experiencing in uncovering evidence of Romano’ crimes. "I was too focused on his financial transactions, when the real loopholes lay in the people around him. Stupid."
Isabella took a deep breath, her eyes staring up at the dark night sky. "If I can find a witness who dares to speak, or a living victim... surely all the evidence will reveal itself." She paused, observing her own reflection in the wet pavement. "Romano is too self-confident. A man like him must have many hidden enemies."
Krucukkk...
Isabella, feeling her stomach growling, quickly turned towards the street vendors who were still selling their food. "I think I need to eat first before continuing tonight’s investigation," she said with a small smile. "Maybe a bowl of hot noodles will help clear my mind."
But a loud voice in her head stopped her in her tracks.
[DING!!!]
[Emergency mission]
[Mission: Save someone from death.
Reward: Ability to scan someone with one glance and 1 item box]
Time: 5 minutes]
[Mission time starts now]
"Phoenix System, what’s the meaning of this?" Isabella asked, confused, stopping in her tracks. "Why is there an emergency mission all of a sudden? And why haven’t I been given any choice?" Her voice sounded panicked, as she hadn’t been given the option to accept or decline, but the mission had proceeded immediately. "This isn’t fair! At least give me time to prepare!"
[The emergency mission must be completed. The Host just needs to find the person they want to kill around here.]
"Wait, wait! You said someone was going to be killed? Where and who?" Isabella asked quickly, her eyes scanning the area warily. "Give me clearer directions, because this area is quite large!"
What the Phoenix System said made Isabella panic a little. The mission time was running out, and she only had five minutes to complete this emergency mission. Meanwhile, she had no idea who they were going to kill on the streets, where, although not crowded, it was also difficult to find because she had to read the hearts of each person captured by her senses, and that took a long time.
"Phoenix System, help me find the target I need to save," Isabella ordered firmly, starting to move quickly. "I don’t have time to scan each one. Give me clear directions!" Her hands clenched tightly, her heart pounding, realizing someone’s life was in her hands.
[The time is 3 o’clock, and the Host only has one minute left to save them.]
"Shit!" Isabella screamed, immediately running towards the 3 o’clock direction, following the Phoenix System’s directions. Her feet moved quickly, harnessing speeds far beyond that of a normal human. "I have to hurry before time runs out."
Isabella’s eyes widened when she saw a young woman walking in the middle of the highway. Not far from her, a car was speeding at breakneck speed, as if targeting her.
"No! She’s going to get hit!" Isabella cried out in her mind. "I have to act quickly before it’s too late!"
Seeing the victim frozen in place in shock after the car’s headlights shone on her, Isabella, possessing superhuman speed, sped off like lightning and carried the young woman to the side of the road, amidst the screams of onlookers.
"Arghhh! Watch out!!!" everyone shouted in shock.
Loud screams and hysterical shrieks caused the young woman in Isabella’s arms to slowly open her eyes. Her breath was labored, and her body was trembling violently.
"Are you okay?" asked one of the pedestrians approaching, her face pale. "Oh my God, that was terrifying!"
"That was so dangerous! You could have died!" Another person chimed in breathlessly. "That car looked like it was deliberately trying to hit you!"
"That car looked like it was deliberately targeting that woman," someone from the crowd whispered suspiciously. "I saw it accelerate as it approached the victim."
"That’s right! I saw it too!" someone else added. "This looks like premeditated murder."
Everyone flocked to help Isabella and the young woman, leading them to a noodle stall and sitting them down. The noodle vendor offered them a cup of hot tea to ease their shock from what had just happened.
"Have a drink, Miss. You must still be in shock," the noodle vendor said in a caring tone. "Thank goodness this Miss acted quickly. Otherwise, a fatal accident could have occurred."
Isabella nodded as she accepted the cup of tea. "Thank you, Sir."
[Congratulations! The Host has successfully completed the emergency mission on time and is rewarded with the ability to scan a person with one glance, an item box, and 1,000 points, which will be immediately credited to the Phoenix System.]
[Does the Host wish to install the scanning ability now?]
"Yes, install it now," Isabella said quietly, trying not to draw attention to those around her. "I’m curious to see how this ability works."
[Request being processed...]
Isabella could see that her vision had become clearer. And each person she stared at suddenly had a text indicating their true identity. Their name, age, and various other details appeared on the holographic screen in her eyes.
"Phoenix System, does this mean the ability to scan objects I see is now active? Can’t it be deactivated like the goddess’s eye?" Isabella asked curiously, closing her eyes for a moment. "I hope I can control it well."
[Correct. Everything can only be controlled personally by the Host.]
Phoenix System’s answer made Isabella sigh softly. "Never mind, this is just to train my control," she muttered, shaking off the disappointment that had surfaced. "The more abilities I master, the easier it will be to complete missions."
Isabella stared intently at the young woman she had just helped, and text slowly appeared before her.
[DING!!!]
Name: Vinna Aneth
Age: 22 years old
Occupation: Designer
Description: One of Romano’s mistresses, currently three months pregnant. Because Romano refused to take responsibility and asked her to have an abortion, the woman threatened to expose the man’s corruption to the public, prompting Romano to plan his murder.
Isabella, reading the information, grinned slyly. "So... you’re the key I’ve been looking for," she whispered softly. "This is the opening I need to take down Romano." Quickly, she ordered one of the Dark Evil members to pick her up.
After typing a few words on her phone, Isabella handed it to Vinna, who was immediately shocked to see the beautiful girl who had just helped her understand the situation.
"How did you know?" Vinna asked in a trembling voice, her eyes welling with tears. "Who are you? How do you know all this about me?"
"That’s not important," Isabella replied reassuringly. "What’s important now is that your life is in danger. Romano won’t stop until you’re dead. I can help you, but you have to trust me." Her eyes stared intently into Vinna’s. "I can give you protection and a chance to take revenge."
"But... I don’t know you. How can I trust you?" Vinna hesitated, her hand gripping her teacup tightly.
"Because you have no other choice," Isabella said bluntly. "Look what just happened. It was an assassination attempt. And they’ll try again. Trust me, or die in the next few days. The choice is yours."
Vinna had complicated thoughts, but seeing this as her only chance, she nodded in agreement. "Okay... I’ll trust you. But you have to promise to protect me and my baby too."
"Of course. I promise," Isabella smiled faintly.
They left together as soon as the car arrived.
In the car, Isabella stared at her phone screen. "Phoenix Systems, I haven’t seen my status panel in a while, show me," she ordered curiously.

"Oh, my points are already fourteen thousand five hundred. Does this mean I can level up to level 3?" she asked curiously. "I wonder what new features will unlock at the next level."
[Yes. Host can level up the Phoenix System to level three after reaching 10,000 points. Would you like to level up now?]
"Hmm, I want to see what my item box rewards are before the system level is upgraded," she said, thinking for a moment. "Perhaps there’s something useful for future missions."
[This item box reward is a set of Silver Diamond "Water Drop" jewelry worth 150 trillion, ice snake venom, 10% of LN shares, and 1,000 points that will be credited directly to the Phoenix System.]
"Wow, quite a reward this time," Isabella smiled with satisfaction. "The ice snake venom will definitely come in handy later."
[If the Host levels up, any remaining points will be forfeited automatically. Would you like to spend them first?]
Hearing the Phoenix System’s words, Isabella immediately opened her marketplace. "Okay, I’ll buy 10 sets of poison needles, 10 throwing grenades, 10 illusion cards, 10 impotent pills, and three nerve-damaging pills," Isabella said with a grin. "With these, I can complete all my pending missions." Her fingers moved quickly, selecting the necessary items.
With the supplies she had, as long as the Phoenix System was upgraded, Isabella could still calmly complete the missions she still needed before returning home.
[All Host requests have been placed in storage. Will the Phoenix System be upgraded now?]
"Yes, upgrade the system now," Isabella commanded firmly. "I’m ready for the next level."
[Request being processed...]
[The Phoenix System will be offline for a full month for level-up]
"Wait, a full month?" Isabella was surprised. "Why is it taking so long? Can’t it be faster?"
[The level 3 upgrade process requires in-depth calibration. We apologize for the inconvenience.]
After saying that, the buzzing sound in Isabella’s head disappeared, and the holographic screen in front of her slowly disappeared.
Isabella stared out the car window, watching the city lights begin to twinkle. "A month without the Phoenix System... I have to be more careful," she muttered softly. "Luckily, I’ve gathered enough items and weapons." Her eyes shifted to Vinna, who was sitting beside her, her face pale. "Don’t worry, I’ll protect you. And in return, you’ll help me take down Romano."
Vinna nodded weakly, her hand clutching her still-flat stomach. "Thank you... you saved two lives tonight." Tears began to fall. "I don’t know what else to say."
"No need to thank me," Isabella gently squeezed Vinna’s hand. "All you need to do is rest and prepare yourself. In the next few days, we’ll make Romano pay for all his mistakes." Her eyes radiated with determination.
The car sped off down the deserted road, taking them to the safe haven Isabella had prepared. The cold night was still long, but Isabella knew this was just the beginning of her master plan. With Vinna as a key witness, Romano’s downfall was imminent.
