CHAPTER 80: PRS 80
Four days had passed, and now it was the final day of the conference, with a satisfying outcome. Everyone could return to their respective countries with a sense of relief.
"If you have time, Miss R can visit Country R. We will welcome Miss Isabella warmly," B said sincerely, extending his hand for a handshake. A warm smile spread across his relieved face.
Of all the people, B felt the luckiest because Isabella was willing to help him without him asking, and he owed her a huge debt of gratitude.
"We will never forget Miss Isabella’s kindness. Black Mamba will always be a reliable ally," Br added appreciatively.
"Country J will also welcome you, Miss Isabella. If you wish to visit," C, standing beside B, chimed in with an enthusiastic nod. "Black Ledger will be delighted to have you visit."
"We will also prepare a special banquet for Miss Isabella," C added with a broad smile. "You have saved our organization. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude."
One by one, the mafia members among the world’s top 10 invited Isabella to visit their headquarters, hoping to establish a good relationship with her and reap future benefits and advantages.
"Miss Isabella, we in country K also hope you can visit someday," said one of the other mafia leaders.
"Our doors are always open to you, Miss Isabella. You are a valuable asset to our world," added another respectfully.
"Thank you for the invitation. If I have time, I will stop by. I hope you all don’t mind me bothering you later," Isabella said politely and gently, making them feel that Morgan was very fortunate to have such a beautiful and intelligent fiancée, unaware that their relationship wasn’t as close as everyone imagined.
"Don’t bother, Miss Isabella. In fact, we would be honored," B replied sincerely.
Throughout the conference, Isabella, who didn’t avoid Morgan’s presence, felt that he was quite polite and knew his limits.
Even though he knew their engagement wasn’t over, the man never pressured Isabella into using their relationship status, which earned her respect.
"I admire your generosity, bro!" Andra said, handing Morgan a glass of red wine. They both stood in a corner of the room, slightly away from the crowd.
"Most men would insist on an engagement. But not you. That makes me respect them," Andra continued, raising his glass.
"Isabella is like sand; the tighter you hold her, the more she disappears from reach. This is for the better. At least I can make her comfortable and stop remembering the deep wounds that once plagued her heart," Morgan said wisely, gazing at Isabella from afar with a gentle gaze.
"I know she’s been hurt. And I don’t want to add to her pain by being possessive or pushy," Morgan added in a low voice. "True love is letting the person we love grow in their own way."
"Profound philosophy. But aren’t you afraid she’ll fall for someone else?" Andra asked with a smirk.
"If that’s what makes him happy, then I’ll let him go. But I’ll keep trying to be his best choice," Morgan replied firmly.
"You’re the one who should be worried. At this age, you haven’t even seen a woman with you. How will Grandpa Yuan handle you?" Morgan said mockingly, making the wide smile that had briefly appeared on Andra’s handsome face fade.
"You’re really ruining the mood, King," he protested, playfully jabbing his elbow against Morgan’s arm.
"I’m just reminding you. You’re not young anymore, Andra. Grandpa Yuan must be starting to wonder when you’ll have grandchildren for him," Morgan teased with a laugh.
Hearing Andra’s complaint, Morgan chuckled softly. Seeing Isabella approaching, he immediately invited her home.
"Isabella, are you ready to go home?" Morgan asked, approaching at a leisurely pace.
"Are you planning to stay here or return to your country?" Morgan asked curiously, opening the car door for Isabella.
"I’ll be back the day after tomorrow. I still have a few projects to monitor," Isabella said casually as she got into the car.
"Are they the hospital and school projects?" Morgan asked, sitting next to her.
"Yes, and there are still several new businesses that need close supervision," Isabella replied.
Morgan, who already knew that Isabella was establishing a free school and building a heart hospital, wasn’t too surprised that she would be returning to country I soon.
Moreover, several of her businesses were still newly established, requiring close supervision.
"You really are a workaholic, aren’t you? No time to rest?" Morgan asked, worried.
"Work is my rest. And I really enjoy it," Isabella replied with a faint smile.
"If I visit there, is that okay?" Morgan asked cautiously, trying to read Isabella’s expression.
Isabella briefly looked away from the phone screen she had been staring at. "Call me if you want to go to country I. I’ll introduce you to some people who have similar businesses with you. Who knows, Cromson might want to expand its reach there."
What Isabella said was far from what Morgan had imagined. At first, he was afraid the girl would be angry, feeling he was stalking her or deliberately coming to interfere with her relationship with her boyfriend. However, Isabella’s response was different from what he had imagined, making Morgan laugh at his own stupidity.
"Her fiancée is so naive. She even thinks I’m trying to expand to this country," Morgan thought with an amused smile.
Isabella was still Isabella. Her entrepreneurial spirit seemed to be ingrained in her, making her always see opportunities, no matter how small, she would seize them.
"Okay. I’ll let you know if I want to go there, and I hope the market there is good enough for my business," Morgan said warmly with a relieved smile.
"The market is very good. I can guarantee that," Isabella replied, returning her attention to her phone.
Isabella, unaware of Morgan’s thoughts, remained unsuspecting and returned her focus to the group chat with her employees who needed her help.
"Is there a problem with the project?" Morgan asked, noticing Isabella’s serious expression.
"No, just some technical matters that need confirmation," Isabella replied without looking away from her phone screen.
Meanwhile, Alesio, unable to leave his company to go to country S to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, remained gloomy in the office.
"I should have gone there and given her a birthday cake," Alesio muttered, staring regretfully at the calendar on his desk.
Alekso, who had been stared at like an enemy for two days, could only sigh, trying to be patient with his boss’s childish behavior.
"When will this suffering end?" Alekso muttered to himself, as he walked out of the office after handing Alesio several documents to sign. "Alesio is like a child who has lost his favorite toy."
Once inside his office, Alekso, who had just exchanged messages with his girlfriend, accidentally glanced at his university alumni group chat, which had suddenly become lively, making him suspicious.
"It’s unusually busy," he said, immediately opening the group chat.
They were all discussing the upcoming reunion this weekend.
"Reunion? Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve seen them," Alekso muttered, reading each message.
One of the members who saw Alekso online immediately greeted him, and some even sent him private messages, making him feel uncomfortable pretending not to see him.
"Alekso! Long time no see! Are you coming to the reunion?" one of his friends asked in a private message.
"I think I should invite Alesio to the reunion to distract him a bit," Alekso muttered excitedly, tapping his fingers on the table, strategizing.
After crafting a few carefully crafted words to grab Alesio’s attention, he quickly made his way to his boss’s office.
"Mr. Alesio, there’s a reunion this weekend. How about we go? Let’s take a break from work," Alekso said with a smile.
"Reunion?" Alesio asked in a flat, uninterested tone.
"Yes, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen them together. Lionel happens to be in the capital, so what do you think?" Alekso asked, a little worried, seeing Alesio’s unenthusiastic expression.
"Alesio, this is a great opportunity to break away from your routine. You’ve been immersed in work for too long," Alekso coaxed again.
Before Alesio could answer, one of the two friends his assistant had mentioned called him, making him reluctantly pick up the phone.
"Hello?" Alesio replied lazily.
This time, Lionel was the one who contacted Alesio, as he was more humble than the others, so he hoped he could persuade him to come.
"Alesio! Bro! Long time no see! How are you?" Lionel greeted enthusiastically from the other end of the line.
"Fine. You?" Alesio replied curtly.
"I’m fine! Listen, there’s a reunion this weekend. You have to come! Galih is going too. It’s been a long time since the three of us have been together," Lionel coaxed enthusiastically.
Lionel hadn’t expected Alesio to be so difficult, and he’d used all his skills, just like when he was lobbying a key investor for his project. Until Alesio’s "yes, I’m coming" made him cheer with joy.
"Yes! You won’t regret it, bro! This will be fun! I guarantee it!" Lionel exclaimed triumphantly.
"Okay, okay. I’ll come. But don’t expect me to stay long," Alesio finally relented.
"How was it? Success?" Mika asked, her eyes sparkling as she watched Lionel hang up the phone with a wide smile. The beautiful woman was sitting on Lionel’s lap in a seductive pose.
"Success, Lionel," she said, patting her chest proudly. "That stubborn Alesio Xander finally came!"
"I’m the best at persuading," Lionel added with a proud smile.
"I’ve persuaded Alesio, now I get my reward, right?" Lionel asked, raising his eyebrows with a mischievous smile. His arms wrapped around Mika’s waist possessively.
"Of course! Today, I’m yours," Mika said, wrapping her arms around Lionel’s neck, and he happily led her into the bedroom to release the passion that had been building up.
"You’re amazing, honey. Alesio is stubborn, but you can make him melt," Mika praised in a seductive voice.
"As a gift from you, I can persuade anyone," Lionel replied, kissing Mika’s neck passionately.
Alesio had no idea that this friend he considered a brother would slowly destroy him, stabbing him in the back just because of a woman’s seduction.
Inside the luxurious room, Mika smiled slyly as she hugged Lionel. In her heart, she was planning something far greater that would destroy Alesio Xander.
"Poor Alesio. He has no idea what awaits him," Mika whispered softly with a wicked smile, but her voice was drowned out by the moans and groans that filled the room.
Lionel, too lost in pleasure for a moment, didn’t notice the cold, calculating look in Mika’s eyes. The man was just a puppet in a bigger game that the woman had planned, a game that would bring destruction to her own best friend, Alesio Xander.
