CHAPTER 85: PRS 85
After arriving in country S and getting into the car that picked him up, Alesio, who had just turned on his phone, frowned deeply at the numerous chat messages Alekso had sent.
"What’s going on? Why is Alekso sending so many messages?" Alesio muttered as he opened his phone with a feeling of unease.
Alesio’s frown deepened when he saw that his assistant was just spamming him, until a video, several CCTV recordings, and photos Alekso sent made his eyes widen.
"No... it can’t be..." Alesio whispered in a trembling voice, his face turning pale.
Alesio’s body froze because he knew all too well what was in the video. In the chat, Alekso had said that Isabella had recorded the scene herself.
"Was she in the hotel room that night? How could that be!" Alesio thought in shock, covering his mouth with trembling hands. "Oh my God, Isabella saw everything..."
"Sir, are you okay? Your face is so pale," asked the driver, noticing the drastic change in his boss through the rearview mirror.
"I... I’m fine," Alesio replied hoarsely.
Not wanting to speculate, Alesio immediately dialed his personal assistant’s number for an explanation.
"Pick up, Alekso! Please pick up the phone!" Alesio muttered breathlessly, his hands trembling as he repeatedly pressed the call button.
Unfortunately, Alekso’s phone had just been dropped and crushed by a car when he had just gotten out of the car and crossed the street to buy food. It was broken, so he couldn’t be reached for a while.
"The number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Alesio, who heard the operator’s voice every time he called Alekso, was annoyed and immediately texted, "Call me quickly! IMPORTANT!!!" he wrote, hoping his assistant would contact him as soon as he finished reading the message.
"Damn! Why is his phone off at a time like this?" Alesio cursed, hitting the car seat in frustration.
Alesio went back to checking Alekso’s chat history and opened each of the photos his assistant had sent.
From the several photos and CCTV footage Alekso sent, Alesio could see that everything that happened that night was a plot orchestrated by Lionel and Mika.
"So this... was all a trap?" Alesio muttered, scrutinizing every detail in the photos and video. "They planned this carefully..."
"Do they know Isabella?" Alesio wondered after rereading the message beneath the steamy video, suggesting that his own girlfriend had filmed it, leading him to believe Lionel and Mika had deliberately brought Isabella to the hotel room to catch him.
"But why? What was their motive? What was their relationship with Isabella?" Alesio asked himself, confused and panicked.
The next question was, "Why did they do all this?"
All this time, only Alekso knew that Alesio had a girlfriend. Furthermore, what motive would Lionel and Mika have for setting him up to misunderstand him?
"There’s a conspiracy behind all this. There must be someone who wants to ruin my relationship with Isabella," Alesio analyzed, continuing to stare at his phone screen.
Not wanting to just speculate, Alesio immediately contacted Lionel because he didn’t have Mika’s contact number.
"Lionel, pick up the phone! You have to explain all this!" Alesio said angrily as he waited for the call to connect.
Just like Alekso, Lionel’s phone was also unreachable, leaving Alesio frustrated. He, who had originally wanted to meet his lover to relieve his longing and ask for her family’s blessing, began to change his plans.
"Why can’t I contact everyone?! This doesn’t make sense!" Alesio shouted, ruffling his hair in frustration.
Alesio immediately booked a hotel in the capital. His initial intention of going directly to Alegra’s family residence was canceled before he had a solid plan to provide a detailed explanation. Considering that Isabella was there and witnessed his struggle with Mika, he couldn’t possibly claim the video was fake.
"I can’t go straight to the mansion. I have to have a clear explanation. I have to prove that this isn’t my fault," he muttered as he typed a message to book a hotel room.
She had to contact Alekso as soon as possible to get a detailed explanation that she could use to convince Isabella later.
"Isabella, please believe me. This was all a trap. I didn’t mean to betray you," she whispered regretfully, staring at the engagement ring in her bag.
****
"ARGGHHH!!!"
Haksa threw everything on his desk after hearing that the fifty men he sent to kill Isabella had failed.
"You’re all useless!" he shouted, pounding the table with both fists.
Not only had they failed, but all fifty of his men were also killed, their heads severed from their bodies, and their heads sent to their hiding place, indicating that Dark Evil had already discovered his whereabouts.
"Fifty of my best men! All dead in five minutes?! Who the hell is that woman?!" Haksa shouted, his eyes bulging with fear and anger.
Seeing them not immediately kill him after discovering his presence terrified Haksa.
"They knew where I was, but they didn’t attack right away. Why? What are they planning?" Haksa muttered anxiously as he paced around his office.
"Damn! I never thought that beautiful girl would actually be a demon!" he hissed angrily, staring at Isabella’s photo on the wall with hatred.
Seeing his twin sister lying on the hospital bed like a living corpse, Haksa’s hatred flared to life.
"Hexss... my sister... I will avenge you. I swear I will kill that girl in the most painful way possible," Haksa said, holding Hexss’s unresponsive hand.
His eyes darted wildly, trying to figure out how to eliminate Isabella and the Dark Evil core.
Seeing that the enemy had found him but hadn’t done anything to him fueled his frustration.
"Why don’t they just kill me? What do they want?" he asked himself, his paranoia growing.
This was the effect Isabella had hoped for. Not just immediate death, but a deep frustration that would cause Haksa to doubt his life.
Like Hexss, he now desired nothing more than death, a desire that unfortunately proved difficult for him to achieve because Isabella forbade it and thwarted his efforts to quickly descend into hell.
Frustrating someone to the point of severe depression was a more fitting punishment than killing them.
The crimes committed by Hexss and Haksa didn’t deserve an easy death, as it was too light for the two men who loved to toy with their victims’ psyches before killing them.
Isabella, watching Haksa’s frustration from behind a mini camera embedded in the outside of the sack he’d decapitated his men, felt immensely satisfied. Suddenly, a message from her men made her frown.
"Alesio came to Country S, what for?" she thought unhappily, staring coldly at her phone screen.
Since Alesio had arrived in Country S, Isabella planned to end her relationship with him immediately so she could focus on her family’s problems.
"Okay. If he comes, then I’ll settle everything now," she muttered in a cold, firm voice.
Morgan, who had also heard that Alesio was in the capital, narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion.
"Alesio Xander has come to Country S? What does he want?" Morgan muttered, staring at the report he had just received.
"Is Alesio here to propose to Isabella?" he wondered, clenching his fists in frustration.
To ascertain Alesio’s purpose in coming to country S, Morgan ordered his men to monitor his movements and report anything unusual.
"Follow him wherever he goes. Report every detail. I want to know what his plans are," Morgan ordered his men over the phone.
"Yes, sir. We will do it," his men replied obediently.
Meanwhile, Alesio, who had just arrived at the hotel, was still trying to contact his two friends, but to no avail.
"Why can’t I reach you all?!" Alesio complained, throwing his phone onto the bed in frustration.
Even the men Alesio had sent to search for Alekso had not heard from, prompting him to take a shower to cool his body and mind so he could plan more carefully.
"I have to calm down. Isabella must be so angry and disappointed. I have to have the perfect explanation," he muttered as he walked towards the bathroom.
The capital city isn’t very large, and news of Alesio’s arrival had also reached Alegra’s family, who were growing anxious, wondering what the man’s intentions were in the country, even though Isabella hadn’t given any information about her lover’s arrival.
"Mommy, why does Alesio come here?" Liora asked curiously, sitting beside her mother in the living room.
"I don’t know. Your sister didn’t say anything either, maybe he came because he missed her and gave her a surprise," Mikaela replied dryly, sipping her warm tea.
"But it’s strange, Mom. Usually, Isabella always tells us when Alesio is coming. Why is she silent this time?" Liora asked again, doubt evident on her face.
"Maybe she doesn’t know either, honey. Maybe Alesio wanted to surprise her," Mikaela replied, though her heart also felt strange.
Seeing as Isabella hadn’t said anything this morning during their breakfast together, it was likely that her youngest daughter didn’t know her lover was already in the capital. Otherwise, how could Isabella have gone to the Dark Evil headquarters after learning that Alesio had come to Country S just to see her?
"Whatever his motives, we must welcome Alesio, because after all, he’s still your sister’s boyfriend," Mikaela said wisely, looking at her daughter gently.
"But Mom, what about Morgan? Isn’t Isabella still engaged to him?" Liora asked, confused.
"That’s a complicated matter, honey. But we can’t interfere too much. Let Isabella decide," Mikaela replied with a deep sigh.
Liora nodded in agreement. Although everyone knew that Isabella and Morgan’s engagement hadn’t been annulled, given that their relationship hadn’t been officially formalized, they didn’t dare take any action that might upset their youngest sister.
"I just hope Isabella is happy, Mom. She’s suffered enough," Liora said in a soft, loving voice.
"I hope so too, honey. Isabella deserves happiness," Mikaela replied with a sad smile.
Mikaela, suspecting that Alesio would be arriving that evening, had already begun preparing and ordered her maid to shop and prepare a special dinner for that evening. After all, Alesio had come all the way to this country, and as Isabella’s family, they naturally had to welcome him warmly and warmly.
"Prepare our best menu. Cook Isabella’s favorite dishes too. I want dinner to be perfect," Mikaela instructed the butler.
"Yes, Madam. We will prepare it to the best of our ability," the maid replied with a respectful bow.
"And don’t forget, prepare the best guest room if Alesio wishes to stay," Mikaela added.
