Pioneer of the Abyss: A Deepsea Livestreamed
Book 2: Chapter 6
Aqua
Honestly, I’ve never really been one for vengeance. I tend to take things in stride and often forget they even happen within a day of it happening.
Even when a soldier shocked me back on Equeter just for averting my gaze, I forgot the soldier’s face within a day.
But I can’t do that with something like this.
Not when he changed my name without even so much as saying anything to me, much less asking permission.
I can’t just forget that. Not when I see the results of it every single day when I look at my status or see my name in my mail or in the chat.
Even if it’s now Azuranth, I’m still reminded why it ended up as Azuranth.
Because he changed it to Orcayne before I changed it again.
That said, my hatred has cooled off since. By quite a bit in fact.
So I’d say this is good for revenge and I’m fine now.
Just seeing the shocked and despairing look in the general’s eyes as he mutters, “…Kraken?”
A look that grows even more despaired when Kaelthas bursts out into laughter with a smug look in his eyes directed at the general. Clearly boasting without saying anything directly about how my Bloodline doesn’t even mention the Abyssal Orcas.
Of course, Flare doesn’t pay any mind to their petty squabble as she asks, “How much are you willing to tell us about your Bloodline?”
I focus on her after dismissing the despairing look on the general’s face before answering, “I will tell you two things. The Abyssal Kraken may very well be immortal if it’s truly an Ancient Monster and has the level of one. And the abyssal servants can be resummoned endlessly as long as the mana price is paid.”
Silence fills the room at my words. Followed by what seems like fear from the people in it.
Which I’m not surprised about.
After all, it doesn’t take much thought to put two and two together.
My regeneration can regrow entire parts of my body. Everyone here has no doubt seen me literally regrowing limbs and even parts of my torso that were bitten off by my shark servant during our battle.
And they all know I’m not even level one hundred.
“Oh, and the Abyssal Kraken does have the Kraken’s basic trait,” I add, making it even clearer for them.
It’s not very hard for them to guess about it after all. Considering how my regeneration has been growing faster and faster over time.
And the Krakens have the same trait. The one giving them the REGEN hidden stat.
The biggest difference between me and this theoretical – albeit practically proven at this point – Abyssal Kraken is that, if it is an Ancient Monster, its level should be incredibly high. Which means its REGEN stat should be far, far higher than my own.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
For example, the Bloodbone Tree – the only Ancient Monster that can be identified today – has an unknown level even to people in the upper thirty and forty thousands in levels.
And since identifying levels is restricted to those at and below the same digits as your level later on, that means the Bloodbone Tree is at the very least in the hundred thousand range. Six digits.
Although all we can possibly know is that it’s somewhere between level one hundred thousand and level nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine.
Technically it could even be higher level than that in the seven digit range, but the researchers don’t want to even consider that possibility.
Because it’s just too terrifying for humans to know something that powerful exists.
Especially since the Bloodbone Tree is a stationary Ancient Monster that can’t move. Meaning it has less prey to hunt to level up and is likely a lower level than the other Ancient Monsters.
And if the Abyssal Kraken really is an Ancient Monster like the others, that means its level would be in that same range.
And if I can regrow limbs in a few days at a level below one hundred…
Just what can the Abyssal Kraken do at over a thousand times my level?
That, on top of the trait granting practical immortality so long as the hearts and brain aren’t destroyed and left destroyed for ten seconds, makes for what must be the closest thing to real immortality in existence.
The idea of there being an actual Abyssal Kraken in the Abyss is kind of terrifying. Even to me.
Although it’s not as terrifying to me considering that the Abyssal Kraken would probably be friendly to me if it did exist. Or at least not aggressive towards me.
There are a few examples of evidence describing how the Ancient Monsters are friendly or at least not aggressive towards those with their own Bloodlines. Both in the last traces of the Ancient Monsters from the past that interacted with Bloodliners from back then, along with the Bloodbone Tree of today.
Since the Bloodbone Tree attacks everything that gets anywhere near the planet.
Except for Bloodliners with its Bloodline.
Which proves that even the Ancient Monsters with the least intelligence still follow that. Like the Bloodbone Tree, which is known as the Ancient Monster with the least intelligence of the bunch.
The Bloodliners in the room all begin talking amongst each other about the news I just revealed. Except for the general, who still seems shocked.
But I find the time for the next job of the day approaching soon, so I say farewell to them before leaving and reappearing at another photoshoot. With this one being for hats of all things.
Baseball caps for some reason.
They actually have me show up at a baseball stadium during a game for the shoot.
And on top of that, my next job follows right after. With me throwing the ceremonial first pitch of the game.
Which is not something I’m used to. At all.
It’s kind of interesting to learn more about the sports in the Alliance beyond just the Class V worlds.
Seeing as Class V worlds don’t have the luxury of having sports or even hosting the sports on streaming services or TV. Since that would cost far too much for people on the world to afford.
There are numerous different sports leagues, with multiple different types of playing rules.
Some leagues go by strict level restrictions, keeping users and non-users separated, with users separated further by level. And there are other leagues that make any users wear restrictive gear to bring them down to a mortal non-user’s level. Leagues that allow anyone to participate.
Both user and non-user leagues are just as popular, albeit with user leagues being more popular with the higher Class citizens.
As for the league I’m doing the ceremonial first pitch in?
It’s a user league for users at around level one hundred. So at my level.
Which means I don’t have to hold back. So I throw the pitch without hesitation.
Unfortunately though, since I’m not underwater, I don’t end up striking them out. Although I do get two strikes before they hit it on the third.
Anyway, after that job I go ahead and return to the dungeon in Oceana. Where I proceed to do my usual routine, following which I leave the ship and head towards the tunnel down in the water.
I slowly progress through the tunnel as it gets darker and darker, only to eventually find the tunnel opening up into another large cavern. With the cavern being just like the first cavern with it being half submerged. But unlike the first cavern, there are fewer ships and higher level monsters.
Also the ships that do exist in it are far larger than the previous cavern.
Looks like it’s just another area and not the boss’s area.
I narrow my eyes.
Well, back to hunting again, I guess.
