CHAPTER 41: 041 JUST HIT IF YOU WANT TO HIT, CAN’T YOU HIT?_1
The noisy environment seemed to suddenly fall silent.
The Mount Flower Association had quite a crowd today, and Chen Yunbai had just finished discussing matters on behalf of his association with the Mount Flower Association. Leading a group of people laughing arrogantly, he exited the elevator only to find a fight breaking out next door.
Chen Yunbai and his group: "Holy shit, this is exciting."
A bunch of people widened their eyes, looking over.
To his surprise, he recognized someone in the midst of the commotion.
Wu Fanjia?
That famously crazy woman?
She got hit?
Even Chen Yunbai was shocked.
Wu Fanjia was completely stunned. Her coach was the first to react, jumping up and down. "What are you doing? How dare you hit my player? You... which department are you from, damn it!"
The coach was about to lose his mind. He had painstakingly recruited Wu Fanjia; she had barely stepped through the door and hadn’t even signed the contract yet when she was assaulted.
Only then did Wu Fanjia come back to her senses. She looked at Wen Jiang’s smiling face and, in an instant, became enraged, her voice both shrill and frantic. "You actually dare to hit me, Wen Jiang, you bitch, I’ll kill you—"
She instinctively raised her hand, and the glow of a card flickered. The power of an A-Rank Card immediately drew the attention of the association hall’s power sensors.
"BANG—"
A mechanical arm instantly appeared in front of Wu Fanjia, clamping down on her wrists and stopping her next move to summon her card. A cold voice announced, "Imperial City prohibits the unauthorized summoning of A-Rank Spirit Card Spirits. Wu Fanjia, first warning. Violating the public order management law three times will result in one week of detention."
The coach quickly tried to calm Wu Fanjia down. "Don’t be rash, don’t be rash! Violating the management law will get you banned from competing!"
With her wrists clamped, Wu Fanjia couldn’t continue to summon. Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Wen Jiang. "You actually dare to hit me, you whore! I will make sure you pay for this!"
Zero Egg: "Emotion value at its peak, one Point—oh my god, she actually contributed two Points, hahahaha!! Her jealousy is so pure! Too precious, too precious! Such talent must be thoroughly exploited! Host, provoke her some more, squeeze out some more Points!"
Wu Fanjia’s madness, paired with Zero Egg’s unconscionably gleeful laughter, made the scene more than just exciting.
Wen Jiang, however, was smiling mischievously. She suddenly leaned close to Wu Fanjia, her tone innocent. "What’s wrong? Am I not allowed to hit you? I felt like hitting, so I hit. Did I need to pick a special day for it? Teehee."
Chen Yunbai couldn’t help but applaud Wen Jiang.
The other onlookers exchanged glances, clueless about the reason for the dispute.
Unable to summon her card, the moment the mechanical arm released Wu Fanjia’s wrist, she instinctively lunged forward, swinging her palm to strike Wen Jiang directly. Regrettably, while Spirit Card Masters possessed strong spiritual power, physical combat was not their forte. Even with spiritual power enhancement, she was far from Wen Jiang’s match.
Wen Jiang’s figure flashed backward; Wu Fanjia swung at empty air. In her haste and frustration, she lost her balance. Just as she was about to stumble, Wen Jiang raised her right hand and delivered another quick, fierce slap to Wu Fanjia.
"BANG—"
The slap sent Wu Fanjia careening off-course. Coincidentally, the elevator doors opened, and she went tumbling inside. Someone in the elevator saw her and frowned, moving aside. The others, however, froze when they saw who stepped out of the elevator, daring not even to breathe.
It was Sheng Hongying.
Sheng Hongying exited the elevator, glanced at Wu Fanjia inside, then looked at Wen Jiang, who stood outside appearing calm and innocent. Her gaze slowly shifted to the other people present.
"What’s all this commotion?"
Her voice was cold, doubling the pressure on everyone who heard it.
Even Chen Yunbai and the others from different associations didn’t dare to act flippantly.
The coach, his face a mask of distress, looked at the beaten Wu Fanjia. Then, his expression turned to extreme anger as he pointed furiously at Wen Jiang. "Shadow God, she... she attacked someone without any reason! This is a player I scouted from outside!"
What terrible luck! Assaulted the moment she arrived at the association. She’d have to be insane to join the Mount Flower Association now!
Sheng Hongying’s gaze turned to Wen Jiang, who shrugged. "Hmm, a personal grudge. She bullied me in school and even slashed my face. So, seeing her now and giving her a couple of slaps isn’t going too far, is it?"
To be honest, my temper isn’t actually that great.
With someone like Wu Fanjia, if it were behind my back, I could have just made a mental note of it. But bumping into her face-to-face like this, my hands were just itching to hit her; I couldn’t resist.
All precautions could wait. I’d deal with things after I’d had the satisfaction of hitting her.
Wen Jiang’s directness left the coach speechless. "Ah?"
Chen Yunbai and the others exchanged glances. They all knew Wu Fanjia, so hearing Wen Jiang’s words, they suddenly weren’t surprised.
But if Wu Fanjia had actually bullied her, how did this girl now have the audacity to strike Wu Fanjia so directly?
Indeed, after Sheng Hongying listened, she glanced again at Wu Fanjia, who was sprawled on the ground, dazed from the two slaps. Then, without another word, she left.
She could see that an A-Level Spirit Card Master had been struck by a B-Level Spirit Card Master. Whatever Wen Jiang’s reasons, she would have to bear the consequences herself. There was no need for Sheng Hongying to get involved.
Seeing the coach’s expression of suppressed anger, Wen Jiang said with a smile, "You should go check on her quickly. If you wait too long, the swelling on her face might go down."
She scoffed lightly, ignored the expressions of everyone present, and promptly left.
Only then did Wu Fanjia manage to get up from the ground. Wen Jiang hadn’t held back; the slaps were infused with Spiritual Energy, making Wu Fanjia’s head buzz. It took her a long while to come back to her senses.
She didn’t realize that if she hadn’t been an A-Level Spirit Card Master, an ordinary person would have been crippled by Wen Jiang’s slaps.
Furthermore, after Wen Jiang’s assault, she felt her spiritual power fluctuate for a moment. It was only when she stood up and her mind completely calmed that she looked around, but there was no sign of Wen Jiang.
Wu Fanjia was trembling with rage. Chen Yunbai walked over to her. Seeing her miserable state—both cheeks vividly red and swollen in a remarkably symmetrical fashion from the slaps, her expression one of impotent fury—he almost burst out laughing. "Are you alright?"
Wu Fanjia: "..."
She nearly ground her teeth to dust. A palpable malevolence radiated from her as she clenched her fists tightly, the malice in her voice completely unrestrained. "I want her dead! I’ll make sure she dies!!"
Her hatred reached a fever pitch; veins bulged on her forehead.
Watching her eyes turn bloodshot from anger, even Chen Yunbai felt a bit creeped out. He glanced in the direction Wen Jiang had left and couldn’t help asking, "What exactly is the grudge between you two?"
But Wu Fanjia didn’t answer him. Blinded by rage, her cheeks throbbing with excruciating pain, she felt a storm of emotions—shame, fury, indignation—as she registered the onlookers’ gazes. She pushed Chen Yunbai aside and fled from the Mount Flower Association.
The coach who had brought her was on the verge of tears from frustration. "..."
This is such a curse!!!
