Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 15: She’s Dangerous, Hurry to the Hospital
CHAPTER 15: CHAPTER 15: SHE’S DANGEROUS, HURRY TO THE HOSPITAL
Julian Lawson’s brow slightly furrowed.
Next to him, Vera Hansen saw Serena Sterling’s incoming call, and a trace of confusion, along with something indescribable, flashed in her eyes.
"Brother Julian?" Vera looked at Julian Lawson hesitating, prompting him with a reminder.
Only then did Julian Lawson snap back to reality.
On Vera’s phone was the freshly released gossip about her visiting him late at night, and Serena was calling.
Coming to confront him?
Julian Lawson slightly frowned again and then pressed the hang-up button.
But just a few seconds after hanging up, his phone vibrated again.
It was Serena again.
This made him feel somewhat irritated.
"Brother Julian, aren’t you going to answer?" Vera spoke up.
The next moment, Julian Lawson hung up once more and set Serena’s calls to "Do Not Disturb" on his phone.
"Ignore it." He said calmly.
Vera seemed to want to say something, but then closed her mouth.
She hesitantly nodded, looking quite uneasy.
But when she lowered her head, a fleeting sense of smugness appeared in her eyes.
She did it on purpose.
Intentionally telling Julian Lawson about the day’s short video incident.
And showing him the latest gossip news.
Then deliberately reminding him repeatedly in front of him, so he definitely wouldn’t answer Serena’s call.
"Let’s head back; it’s late."
Julian Lawson picked up his jacket, assisting Vera to stand up with him.
The two took the exclusive CEO elevator from the top floor of the Lawson Tower down.
While the two were being photographed by paparazzi as they left the building, which was then exposed online, elsewhere, Serena was being carried out of the ambulance.
The rolling stretcher was quickly pushed into the hospital; the blood from Serena’s forehead slowly trickled down, staining the white sheet of the stretcher.
Serena was vaguely conscious, barely opening her eyes to see the swiftly passing cold white lights of the hospital.
All around were noisy background sounds and the hurried voice of a female police officer.
"I’ve called her husband twice and both calls were declined, what should we do now?"
"Should I call again?"
"What if he still won’t answer?"
"It doesn’t matter; didn’t you see how twisted the car door was from the crash? Although for now she’s only visibly injured on the forehead, we don’t know if there are any internal injuries!"
"Start the treatment! Keep calling her husband!"
"Alright!"
Another burst of noise.
It seemed like some sort of dispute was happening in the hospital.
Serena drifted in and out of consciousness, the air filled with the unique smell of hospital disinfectant.
She heard them arguing, and finally, a familiar voice of Bianca Lynch came through.
Bianca Lynch was shouting something as Serena was pushed into the emergency room.
Then she lost consciousness again.
...
Bianca Lynch was almost beside herself with rage.
Watching Serena being wheeled into the emergency room, her head covered with blood, she felt waves of fear.
Fortunately, Serena was brought to Aeston First Hospital; fortunately, Bianca was pulling an all-nighter; fortunately, she happened to overhear the commotion while passing by and decided to take a look.
Just now they were discussing how to handle Serena’s case.
In such an urgent situation, no one knew Serena was pregnant.
Luckily, she knew the details about Serena’s condition.
Luckily, her father was the hospital’s director, her anger made some impact.
Otherwise, who knows what might have happened to Serena.
Bianca Lynch looked at the female police officer holding Serena’s phone, not knowing who she was trying to call, and walked over.
Explaining that she was a doctor and Serena’s friend, and knowing that the officer was contacting Serena’s relatives, she took the phone.
The screen was crowded with missed calls, which only fueled Bianca’s anger.
"Buzz Buzz!"
Bianca’s phone vibrated once.
She took out her phone to check; it was a trending notification—

Great, not answering calls, busy with the mistress!
Bianca Lynch immediately called Julian Lawson.
The first call wasn’t answered.
During the last few rings of the second call, he finally picked up.
"What is it?" Julian Lawson’s cold voice came through.
"What is it?" Bianca Lynch burst out angrily, "Why aren’t you answering Serena’s calls?"
In the driver’s seat of the Aston Martin, Julian Lawson frowned.
Seeing that it was indeed Bianca’s call, his voice turned colder: "Did Serena ask you to call me?"
"No!" Bianca’s furious roar resounded through the phone, "I called you myself!"
There was a red light ahead; Julian Lawson braked, checking the DND status he had set for Serena.
Dozens of missed calls.
Ha!
If it wasn’t Serena who asked Bianca to call, then who did?
The red turned green, Julian restarted the car, the Aston Martin moved forward steadily.
Just like his current state of mind, calm and unruffled.
Since Vera Hansen entered the Lawson Tower, the calls hadn’t stopped.
What was Serena really thinking, did he fail to guess?
"You need to come to Aeston First Hospital immediately!" Bianca Lynch ordered.
"I’m not going." Julian’s voice was icy.
Serena probably went crying to Bianca just like she always did.
She’s gone too far this time.
Even brought Bianca in to trouble him!
Since he suggested the divorce to Serena, her temper has only grown worse.
"She got hit by a car."
Bianca’s voice cooled from furious to chilly, finally tossing one harsh line—
"Julian Lawson, if you have any heart, you’ll come!"
"Screech—"
The brakes screeched piercingly.
The car stopped suddenly.
The driver behind cursed, while Julian listened to the busy tone of Bianca’s ended call with white-knuckled fingers gripping the steering wheel.
In the passenger seat, Vera Hansen listened quietly to everything, and suddenly, her phone lit up.
Vera glimpsed at it, then put her phone away, looking "worriedly" towards Julian Lawson.
"Brother Julian, she might have really ended up in trouble, let’s hurry to the hospital!"
Vera looked extremely anxious: "This isn’t a small issue, it could be very severe!"
"Luckily she’s at Aeston First Hospital, I heard Bianca Lynch is her best friend, at least she has someone there to help."
"Brother Julian, we must go quickly, didn’t Serena call dozens of times? It must be urgent!"
Vera seemed almost on the verge of tears.
But when she lowered her head, calculation was all that filled her eyes.
Car crash equals serious.
But the problem was that Serena just so happened to be hospitalized where her best friend worked.
This best friend’s father was the hospital director.
And Serena could still find time to call him dozens of times.
Appearing worried was actually just hinting.
Hinting that it was all a play staged by Serena and Bianca.
But Vera absolutely wouldn’t let Julian Lawson see through it.
She "sincerely" let tears fall.
"Brother Julian, I want to be with you, but if something happened to her, I’d feel guilty forever..."
Crying, she suddenly turned to the side to retch, and when she recovered, her mouth had "blood" at the corners.
Seeing the worry in Julian’s eyes, Vera hid away the fake blood pack in her bag, shaking her head: "Don’t worry about me, just head to the hospital."
Julian’s lips were pressed tightly.
The car restarted, the Aston Martin turned and headed towards Aeston First Hospital.
