CHAPTER 204: CHAPTER 204: KISSING SILAS HAWTHORNE IN FRONT OF JULIAN LAWSON

It’s Julian Lawson.

Seeing him, Serena couldn’t help but think of the time he blocked her at her doorstep before. Her mood was not good.

Hadn’t he already decided to be with Vera Hansen? Why was he still coming to block her every day?

This time, he even came to Silas Hawthorne’s doorstep.

Silas helped Serena Sterling off the ferry, and Julian Lawson had already gotten out of the car and was approaching them.

Serena didn’t want to pay attention to him and tried to bypass him to get to Silas Hawthorne’s Bentley.

"You two went out together again." Julian looked at Serena with red eyes.

"Obviously," Serena said.

Julian looked at Serena and suddenly noticed that her eyes were a little red, as if she had just cried.

His heart ached, and he wanted to see what was wrong with her.

But Serena brushed his hand away, not wanting him to touch her.

"Did he bully you?" Julian asked worriedly, squinting slightly as he glanced at Silas Hawthorne beside them.

"No." Serena took a step back, moving closer to Silas. She said, "Julian Lawson, we’re already divorced. Don’t lay hands on me."

Seeing her instinctive action and her unabashed closeness to Silas, along with her words, Julian felt sad.

"Serena, don’t forget, your match with Vera Hansen is still on." Julian said with reddened eyes. "What you want from the Sheridan Family is still with The Lawson Corporation."

Serena’s steps paused slightly as she looked up at the Julian in front of her.

"I know," Serena said. "If you’re not blind, you should see that I’ve been trying hard to win."

Julian pressed his lips tightly and suppressed the intense pain in his heart as he pointed to Silas beside him.

"You want to win, so you go out with him?" he said, jealousy making his eyes bloodshot. "Is this how you plan to win?"

"Julian Lawson, watch your mouth!" Silas immediately stepped forward to shield Serena.

But Serena just waved her hand, telling him she’d handle it.

All this time, she had ignored Julian, enduring until the cooling-off period ended, and they got their divorce papers.

And then until now.

During this time, she thought she had made her attitude and words very clear.

Yet, he seemed never to have understood.

If that’s the case, she might as well make things even clearer.

"Julian Lawson, please don’t insult me," Serena said calmly. "I intend to win the match with my abilities, not in the way you think."

They had known each other for many years, shared many intimate nights and weathered life and death together. She wondered if, because of falling for Vera Hansen, he had become so detestable?

Before Julian could speak, she continued.

"Then, I want to make it clear to you."

"We are long divorced and have nothing to do with each other anymore."

Julian felt such heartache that he could barely breathe. The intense suffocating sensation made his vision blur.

"Serena, what are you saying?" he asked softly.

"Julian Lawson, I don’t love you anymore," she calmly replied.

Hearing these words felt like an explosion in Julian’s mind.

The love he thought he grasped tightly, the love she professed, was now denied by her own lips.

Reason broke, and he felt nothing was credible anymore.

"Serena, you’re doing this on purpose," he said. "Are you deliberately saying these things to upset me?"

He searched his mind for all impossible evidence.

Was it to win?

To make him uncomfortable?

Because he was with Vera, she did this on purpose?

But all of this started to crumble at the sight of her calm gaze directed at him.

"I didn’t deliberately anger you," Serena said calmly. "I genuinely don’t like you anymore."

"You..."

"Julian Lawson, I’m not the kind of person who looks back," she said. "The moment you chose Vera Hansen, we were already over. Getting the divorce papers was just a formality."

She didn’t deny having loved him.

But now, in her heart, he no longer existed.

"Julian," she earnestly looked at him for the last time. "We can’t go back."

"That’s about it." Serena withdrew her gaze, lowering her eyes slightly. "It should be clear now. Please don’t come to bother me anymore. It would only be troublesome."

With that, Serena nodded to Silas and started walking toward his Bentley.

But Julian again caught her wrist.

His eyes were rimmed with red, and she could see the moisture in his eyes.

"Serena," he said, calling her name.

"You’re lying to me, aren’t you?"

"We’ve been together for so many years..."

"We’ve been through so many ups and downs."

His brow was furrowed, lips pale, and there was even a hint of pleading in his voice.

"We’ve faced life and death together, you can’t..."

Serena tried to shake his hand off, but he held on tight, and she couldn’t escape.

Looking at his demeanor, she wondered why he bothered.

In this relationship, in this marriage, it was clearly he who first strayed.

"What do I have to say to make you believe?" she asked.

But he just looked at her with red eyes, refusing to let go.

"Fine." she said.

Serena nodded and closed her eyes.

Just when Julian thought her attitude was changing, she turned to look at Silas, who had been protecting her.

"Just now in the studio, you asked me to think it through." She looked up at Silas and said softly, "You said, don’t make decisions impulsively."

Silas’s brow furrowed tightly, his deep eyes gazing at the Serena in front of him.

"Silas."

She called his name.

"Yes," he replied softly.

"I’ve thought it through," she said. "I agree with you, let’s be together."

Something seemed to shatter.

Serena felt a sharp pain in her wrist, but she didn’t look back at Julian.

She just kept her gaze on Silas.

His eyes showed no joy, only worry, concern for her.

Serena knew he was concerned that she made the decision out of anger with Julian.

But she would show him that wasn’t the case.

In the studio, she was moved and touched; but at Hawthorne Manor for all that time, she had had enough time to calm down.

"It’s true," she said. "I like you, my heart beats for you."

Before Silas could say anything, she had already taken a step forward, drawing closer to him.

Serena reached out with the hand that Julian hadn’t caught, wrapped it around Silas’s neck, and stood on tiptoe to kiss his lips.

It was just a light kiss before she pulled back, feeling a little shy.

Silas’s body trembled fiercely.

Immediately, he extended his hands, wrapping them tightly around her waist and pulling her into his arms. His body heat radiated through their clothes as if wanting to melt her into him.

On the other side, her other wrist ached from Julian’s tight grip.
