CHAPTER 250: CHAPTER 250: I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOU

The assailant snatched the phone from Serena Sterling’s hand, and Serena took the opportunity to struggle fiercely, almost breaking free.

But before she could escape, the opponent again grabbed her waist and forcefully lifted her, dragging her out.

"Ugh!"

Serena desperately tried to make a sound, but her mouth was covered, leaving her only able to produce muffled noises.

What to do!

In frustration and panic, she was nearly driven mad.

Serena kicked and flailed all the way, but her captor refused to loosen his grip.

The overwhelming strength disparity made it impossible for her to break free.

After a dizzying struggle, Serena was finally forcibly thrown into a car.

"Drive."

A familiar voice came, and Serena turned her head to see Julian Lawson’s face.

"Julian Lawson!"

Her emotions exploded as she reached out to hit him.

But he pinned her down instantly, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break free.

"Let me go!" Serena shouted angrily, glaring at him.

Yet Julian didn’t let go, pressing her into the backseat, rendering her immobile.

"What exactly are you trying to do?" Serena asked urgently and angrily, attempting to rise, but as soon as she lifted herself, he pushed her back down.

"Help..."

Serena shouted for help, but before she could finish the first word, he covered her mouth.

The car had already started, heading to an unknown destination as Serena stared at Julian Lawson in front of her.

He looked incredibly disheveled.

The usually meticulously groomed hair was sticking up messily, dark circles ringed beneath his eyes, and stubble had appeared.

He seemed to not have rested for a long time.

His eyes were bloodshot, carrying emotions she couldn’t understand, seemingly suppressed, ready to explode at any moment.

This version of Julian Lawson made her a bit afraid.

What exactly was he planning?

Was he insane?

The two of them continued to stare at each other as the car sped along.

Until it later arrived at some unknown underground parking lot.

Julian Lawson forcefully covered Serena’s mouth and dragged her out.

Serena clung desperately to the car door, refusing to let go; finally, he yanked off his tie and bound her hands together, forcibly taking her away.

The elevator ascended, Serena’s heart pounded with anxiety.

What to do?

Serena closed her eyes.

Forcing herself to calm down.

She was on her way to pick up Seraphina when Julian Lawson took her from outside the kindergarten.

First, she came in a car dispatched by Silas Hawthorne; secondly, if Seraphina wasn’t picked up for a long time, it would definitely raise issues.

Whether it’s the driver or the kindergarten, they would notice something wrong.

Then they would investigate.

But the duration of such an investigation is not something she could calculate.

If the driver thought she and Seraphina were inside the kindergarten playing, or eating nearby and didn’t notice her absence, the time might extend indefinitely.

She couldn’t completely rely on the driver and the kindergarten. Even if they came, she’d need to buy time, still coming up with a way to save herself.

Just how could she save herself?

The tie binding her wrists was tight, hurting her wrist.

Her face was covered by Julian Lawson’s hand.

His breath was dangerously close.

Something was wrong with him.

What had happened?

In any case, once the elevator doors opened, she had to find someone nearby to call for help.

And somehow find an opportunity amidst Julian Lawson’s abnormal behavior.

All these thoughts raced through her mind in an exceedingly short time.

"Ding!"

With the elevator’s chime, Serena opened her eyes again, as the elevator doors slowly opened.

She then recognized where she was.

This was the apartment next to The Lawson Corporation’s building where Julian Lawson lived.

They once spent many days and nights here together.

"Remember?" Julian Lawson’s voice came from beside her. "Nora, remember our time here?"

She looked up to meet his gaze.

His eyes were bloodshot, filled with complex emotions, with nostalgia, and... hate.

His hand still covered her mouth; he seemed not to want an answer, only speaking alone.

And watching her.

Serena didn’t understand.

His brows knitted slightly, eyes wet, before he laughed sadly.

Then, Serena felt the strong pull around her waist, as he took her into the apartment.

"Bang!"

He shut the door, finally releasing the hand covering her mouth.

"Julian Lawson, what are you doing! Help!" Serena immediately cried out.

But he didn’t care, lifting her struggling body.

"You know that here, no matter how loud you shout, it won’t matter." His voice came.

Serena’s eyes were red; she knew.

Her sleep was light, so all their properties had soundproofing.

Even though this was an apartment, it had good soundproofing, so once inside, her voice wouldn’t be heard outside.

But...

Serena’s heart raced in anxiety; she had hoped to spot someone nearby after exiting the elevator, but now...

This behavior from Julian Lawson frightened her.

While contemplating, Julian Lawson had already carried the incessantly kicking Serena into the bedroom.

Serena was thrown onto the large bed in the bedroom.

She attempted to flip over and get up immediately.

But the next moment, he pressed her down again.

"Julian Lawson!"

She detested this feeling of being physically suppressed!

Yet he didn’t respond to her words, still holding her down, overlooking her.

Watching her.

"What’s wrong with you?" Serena asked.

Julian Lawson’s eyes were bloodshot; hearing her question, he finally replied.

"I wish I knew what’s wrong with me too."

He spoke, frowning hard, looking deeply troubled.

Serena lowered her eyes slightly, avoiding his sight.

She turned her head aside. "Could you release me first? My wrists hurt."

But he only laughed sadly, not loosening his hold.

"Nora." He called her name.

Serena didn’t respond.

"I regret it." He said with sorrow in his voice, "I shouldn’t have let go from the start."

From the beginning...

Emotions surged, Serena’s eyes reddened.

She turned back to look at Julian Lawson.

He appeared very troubled.

But...

"Weren’t you the one who asked for a divorce back then?" she asked, pressing her emotions.

Seven years.

How many seven years can there be in a lifetime?

Could his single regret erase all of that?

What about her pain, her lost child?

"I’m sorry." Julian Lawson’s voice was full of sadness.

"If you truly feel sorry for me, then let me go." Serena said with red eyes.

"I can’t let you leave." He gently touched her face. "Nora, I can’t be without you."

Serena turned her head, unwilling to look at him, but he held her face firmly, forcing her to gaze at him.

"I have so much I want to say to you." Julian Lawson spoke, as if reminded of something, his eyes showing a hint of desolation.

"I know about your illness."
