Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 319: Offering Everything to Her
CHAPTER 319: CHAPTER 319: OFFERING EVERYTHING TO HER
Just as Serena Sterling reached the first floor, the elevator on the other side descended rapidly.
With a "ding," Jude Chaucer appeared, pushing Julian Lawson out as well.
As the wheelchair was pushed out, they saw Serena and the others on the other side.
Serena’s eyes were slightly red as she looked at something on her phone.
Silas Hawthorne was by her side.
Nova was on a call, speaking very excitedly to someone on the other end.
Julian pursed his lips and maneuvered the wheelchair next to Serena.
"Serena," Julian spoke.
Serena lowered her gaze at him.
"I know everything about the hallway incident," Serena’s voice was slightly hoarse, "Where is she?"
Julian knew she was referring to Vera Hansen.
Julian gestured for Jude to bring Vera down from upstairs.
With people coming and going, Julian pointed towards a conference room on one side.
Serena entered first, and as Silas moved to follow, Julian stopped him.
"Let me make things clear with her," Julian said softly, "This is between us."
"She’s my girlfriend now," Silas retorted coldly, disagreeing.
"Resolving this is beneficial for both you and me," Julian said earnestly, "Do you want her to be haunted by this for the rest of her life?"
Silas pursed his lips tightly, his eyes fixed on Julian with disgust.
Silas thought he knew enough, but now it seemed...
"Julian, you claim you love her," Silas’s voice was cold, "but you weren’t aware of what was happening around you."
If someone’s heart and eyes are full of another, they would know everything.
They wouldn’t leave Serena alone in the hallway.
Not until now did he realize what had happened back then.
Julian’s eyes were red, his lips tightly pressed together as he lowered his head, not answering.
There was a slight stalemate between them.
About three seconds passed.
"I don’t have the ability to act now," Julian said, "I can’t do anything to her."
"I just want to talk to her."
"Silas, you need to understand, we once had a child," Julian said looking at Silas.
He continued, "The child’s issues need to be resolved between her and me."
Silas clenched his fists.
He had no rebuttal to Julian’s words.
Saying no more, Julian controlled the wheelchair and entered the conference room, leaving the door ajar.
Serena was already seated on a chair at one side.
Julian approached her.
Seeing her reddened eyes, his heart ached.
"I’m sorry," Julian said, his nose stinging and eyes welling up.
Serena slightly lifted her eyes, filled with hatred beneath her long lashes.
They locked eyes.
"I want her to pay," Serena stated.
"I will," Julian said softly.
"I want to do it myself," she said, "now."
Julian didn’t respond.
He watched Serena, feeling saddened.
He didn’t want to see her like this.
"I’ll bring her here," Julian said, reaching out to hold her hand, "but you don’t need to dirty your hands."
Serena’s lips pressed tightly.
Watching Julian’s movement, Serena pushed his hand away, turning her face to the side.
If it wasn’t for Vera being in Julian’s hands, she wouldn’t even want to see him.
Thinking of that day brought unbearable pain.
Julian’s hand hung by his side, his eyes red as he looked at Serena’s profile.
"It’s my fault."
Julian spoke.
Serena didn’t respond, leaving a heavy silence in the air.
Julian clenched his fist.
"Serena," he called her name again, "the incident in the hallway wasn’t what I wanted."
His heart ached.
He replayed that day over and over in his mind, the day she had a car accident.
He didn’t believe her.
Bianca Lynch had called him multiple times, and when he reached the hospital and saw her, he thought she was just acting with Bianca.
He pushed her down the stairs, angry at her for deceiving him, without a second glance.
And now, he realized that everything was Vera’s premeditation!
Even the push was Vera’s trick.
If he hadn’t pushed her, would there still be their child in her belly?
Would she have forgiven him?
Hatred for Vera swelled within.
"Let’s settle the past together," he said.
"I have so much to tell you; we... Serena, let’s make up for lost time, have another child, okay?"
Julian spoke.
Sinister thoughts surged within.
If Serena understood he didn’t mean to push her, would she forgive him?
"Serena, I..."
"Slap!"
But Julian’s response came as a loud slap.
A sharp sting on his face, Julian looked at Serena and met her icy, bone-chilling eyes.
Julian opened his mouth, but before he could speak, another slap from Serena landed.
"Slap!"
"Slap, slap, slap..."
Serena said nothing, only applying force with her hand.
Julian’s face swelled, blood seeping from his mouth.
Tears slowly streamed from Serena’s eyes.
Both children were gone.
How could he speak so easily of compensating for the past!
Serena’s palm went numb from the slaps.
Her right hand trembled slightly, looking at Julian’s bowed head, her jaw clenched tightly.
"Julian, I hate Vera, but..." Serena suppressed her emotions, red eyes staring at Julian.
Seeing Julian lift his head, his sorrowful eyes met hers, Serena said, "Julian, what I hate more is your stupidity."
And - "my stupidity."
Stupidly believing in him.
Stupidly thinking that, no matter what, they had been in love, and he wouldn’t hurt her.
Later, she realized that she was wrong about everything.
"I want Vera, this murderer, to pay," Serena said with red eyes, "Julian, you can’t escape either!"
Talking about Vera’s manipulation.
But it was him who neglected her after he pushed her down.
He was the one who didn’t visit her during her long hospital stay.
After knowing Irene was her, he was the one who insisted on holding onto the Sheridan Family’s possessions!
Item by item.
Julian was involved in every one of them!
Julian laughed bitterly, tears streaming down his face.
Emotions surged through him.
"What do you want me to do?" Julian said, "Serena, what do you want me to do?"
What price did she want him to pay?
If she gave him a word, fire and water, he would do it.
As long as she was willing to turn back, willing to give him a chance.
He was willing to lay everything he had in her hands, willing to present it all to her.
All for her forgiveness.
