Chapter 110 - 110 110 Strike First for the Advantage
Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Strike First for the Advantage Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Strike First for the Advantage Zhou Jin’an’s release from the police station quickly became the talk of the town.
News had also reached the Zhou Residence, where Yao Chuman was as frantic as ants on a hot pan. She kept calling Zhou Ziyan, but his phone was switched off all along.
“Where on earth did the young master go last night?”
Yao Chuman was so infuriated she hurled her phone towards the sofa, while the butler Uncle Zhong and the servants stood off to the side, blowing on their hands, daring not to make a sound.
“I asked at the time, but the second young master refused to say.”
The servant whispered back.
Yao Chuman grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and hurled it furiously at her.
“Useless, didn’t I tell you to keep a close eye on him? He is now the CEO of Nanchen, with countless eyes watching over him; can you still let him mess around like before? Zhou Jin’an has already been released, and at this critical moment, you tell me the young master is missing, what are your true intentions?”
Yao Chuman exploded in a rage.
The servant’s head was bowed so low her whole body was shuddering, but she did not dare utter another word.
Uncle Zhong spoke up, “Madam, is it possible that the eldest young master has kidnapped the second young master?”
Upon hearing this, a cold snort emanated from Yao Chuman’s nostrils.
“Does he even have the capability? If he dares to kidnap my son, I’ll make sure he pays with his life.”
Uncle Zhong was loyal to Yao Chuman; if she loathed Zhou Jin’an, he stood firmly by her side.
“Madam, please calm yourself. It’s not impossible. The eldest young master was able to come out unscathed, which means he must have found some strong evidence. I heard that President An’s side has received a lawsuit from the court. If the eldest young master could expose President An, he certainly could find out that this matter is related to the second young master.”
Yao Chuman had been resolute before, but after the butler’s words, she began to waver.
“Are you saying that Zhou Jin’an has already uncovered the truth?”
Uncle Zhong breathed a sigh of relief, “Although it’s just speculation, I think it’s quite possible. The eldest young master being replaced by the second young master must not sit well with him. Now that he has escaped danger, there’s no telling if he’ll seek revenge on the second young master and even attempt to seize back the CEO position of Nanchen.”
At this moment, Yao Chuman felt a flutter of panic; one hand clutched her chest while the other pointed at the servant.
“What are you standing there for? Call the police.”
The servant scrambled to make the call in a fluster, but Uncle Zhong stopped her again.
“Madam, calling the police won’t help. The second young master disappeared last night, and the eldest young master only came out this morning; he surely won’t admit to anything. If you call the police and he does something to the second young master, we’ll end up worse off.”
“Ah, what do I do then? Could Ziyan be in danger?”
Yao Chuman paced the room in a state of distress.
“Madam, how about we take the initiative first?”
Uncle Zhong suggested a bad idea, and Yao Chuman immediately leaned in, “What should we do?”
Uncle Zhong whispered into Yao Chuman’s ear in a hushed tone.
Not long after Zhou Jin’an had left Chengnan Apartment, he unexpectedly received a call from the Zhou Residence.
He frowned at the display and hung up.
But the call was persistent, ringing again.
“Eldest young master, while we were sorting through the old master’s belongings, we found that he had left a letter. Please come back to the residence.”
“What letter?”
Zhou Jin’an asked.
“The madam hasn’t opened it; she said it can only be read when you and the second young master have both returned.”
Uncle Zhong replied.
“Alright, I know.”
Zhou Jin’an answered and then hung up.
He didn’t think much of it and drove back to the Zhou Residence.
Upon entering, he saw Yao Chuman sitting on the sofa, clutching her pet cat, with a very unpleasant expression on her face.
Zhou Jin’an’s icy gaze swept past Yao Chuman’s face and settled on Uncle Zhong.
“Has the second young master not returned yet?”
Zhou Jin’an inquired.
Uncle Zhong seemed hesitant to speak, and Yao Chuman, losing her patience, stood up, trembling as she pointed her finger at Zhou Jin’an.
“Zhou Jin’an, stop playing innocent here. Where have you hidden Ziyan? Do you think those underhanded tricks of yours won’t be discovered? I’ll tell you, Ziyan is my son; as long as I live, you will never be able to take Nanchen from him.”
In that moment, Zhou Jin’an realized that they had conspired to set a trap for him.
He glanced sidelong at Yao Chuman, his eyes as cold as a millennium-old ice cellar.
Ever since that woman appeared at the Zhou Residence with Zhou Ziyan when he was three years old, they had been sworn enemies like fire and water.
He detested this woman, grinding his teeth in hatred.
“Crazy.”
Zhou Jin’an coldly spit out three words from his lips, and then he stretched his long legs and quickly walked toward the door.
“Zhou Jin’an, you are not allowed to leave.”
Yao Chuman was desperate, rushed forward, and grabbed onto Zhou Jin’an’s arm.
“Give me back Ziyan. If anything happens to him, I’ll make sure you and your shameless dead mother are buried with him!”
Insulting him was one thing, but insulting his mother was something he could not tolerate.
The rage that Zhou Jin’an had suppressed for over twenty years exploded at that moment.
He violently shook off his arm and shouted, “You have no right to mention my mother.”
Caught off guard, Yao Chuman did not expect Zhou Jin’an to exert such great force.
She lost her balance and her body flew out lightly, her cheek colliding with the corner of the coffee table, tearing open a large cut by her eye.
“Madam!”
Uncle Zhong cried out in alarm and stepped forward to support Yao Chuman, “Quick, call 120.”
He ordered the servant to make the call.
Yao Chuman was injured, but her aggressive demeanor did not subside, “Zhou Jin’an, you murderer, after killing my son, now you want to kill me, right? I’ll fight you with my life.”
She struggled to get up, while Zhou Jin’an dusted off the dirt from his sleeves. He did not even glance at Yao Chuman, continuing to step outside.
Outside in the courtyard, Yao Chuman followed him. She clung to Zhou Jin’an’s legs and sat down on the ground like a fishwife on the street corner.
“If you don’t hand over Ziyan today, don’t even think about leaving here.”
Zhou Jin’an snickered coldly, “Out of respect for my father, I gave you three points of courtesy, but sadly, you’re too ungrateful.”
“Uncle Zhong, pull her away, or else—”
Or else what? No one dared imagine.
Uncle Zhong hurried over and reached out to pull Yao Chuman’s arm, “Madam, it’s cold on the ground, please get up.”
Yao Chuman refused to get up, blood oozing from the wound by her eye as her tears began to flow.
“Give my son back to me!”
She chanted words continuously, Zhou Jin’an’s patience was limited, he had no time to entertain Yao Chuman’s nonsensical tantrums.
Seeing that he was about to become angry, Uncle Zhong hurriedly protected Yao Chuman.
“Young Master, the Madam is just anxious about her son. Please be more understanding. The old master has passed away, and whatever you say, the Madam is still your elder. Don’t act impulsively to avoid giving others a chance to say you disrespect your elders.”
“Disrespect my elders? In what way does she deserve any respect?”
Zhou Jin’an snickered coldly.
He applied force to his hand and fiercely broke free from Yao Chuman.
Just at that moment, Zhou Ziyan’s flashy pink sports car returned.
He arrived ostentatiously and grandly, with a long-haired beauty in the passenger seat.
The car zoomed into the yard.
“Mom, take a look at my new girlfriend, isn’t she hot?”
Zhou Ziyan wrapped his arm around the woman, and while speaking, he french-kissed her.
Uncle Zhong felt it was an eyesore and hastily turned his head away.
Upon seeing this, Yao Chuman felt as if old blood had surged to her throat.
“Damned bastard!”
She picked up a shoe and threw it at Zhou Ziyan.
He released the woman and only then noticed Zhou Jin’an standing in the courtyard.
“Weren’t you…”
His head felt a bit muddled, he shook it, closed then opened his eyes, and indeed Zhou Jin’an was standing right in front of him with a steely face.
“Fuck, how did you get out?”
He let go of the woman’s shoulder, took out his phone, and started to dial, but his call went unanswered.
“Fuck, this is really fucking haunted!”
Zhou Ziyan cursed one word after another. He had partied all night and had just woken up half an hour ago, completely oblivious to the latest news.
Right now, he was both shocked and afraid.
And Zhou Jin’an’s footsteps were slowly advancing towards him…
