CHAPTER 894: TIDE BATTLE STARTS!!!

Axel wanted to believe that the number of ghost-type Pokemon had decreased. Since the tide battle was going to start any day now, the mayor could not send his soldiers to investigate the state of ghost-type Pokemon that Axel and his team were going to face.

The continuous bell sound woke up Axel. He knew what that meant. He sprang up, washed his face, changed his clothes, and ran towards the watch tower.

This was the signal for the start of the tide battle.

Ashmita came running towards him and just stood there for instructions.

"As discussed, Alon will always be for the nighttime. Also include Krishna, Jin, Tory, Kane and Sam for the night’s watch.

Others will join the day raid. Ashmita, tell Hector to use Steel-type Pokemon and a teleportation team. Ask him to use the ’Defense I’ strategy for now. We will be playing it slow."

Defense I strategy was that the Pokemons would use moves that increased the overall defense of the team and protected them. The first contact of the tide battle is always very deadly because it is at that time that the wild Pokemon had the upper hand.

At that time, Ashmita said, "Sir, I don’t see any gh.."

"Yes, me too, Ashmita. I also don’t see any ghost-type Pokemon attacking us.", said Axel.

As per their calculations, ghost-type Pokemon would also be attacking them during the day. This was because they would face a lot of ghost-type Pokemon in the tide battle.

But in the first wave, Axel didn’t see any ghost-type Pokemon. The Pokemon they faced were regular Kanto Pokemon like Arbok, Raichu, Sandslash, Ninetales, Dugtrio, and others.

Axel spotted a stronger Poliwrath fighting and defeating Fairy Tail members, but it was still a pseudo-king rank Pokemon.

After fighting multiple tide battles, the members of Fairy Tail had become experienced. First, most ground traps had been activated, trapping the weaker elemental rank Pokemon. The trap was useless for stronger pseudo-king rank Pokemon like Poliwrath, but they had done their job.

The traps had given the members of Fairy Tail breathing time to react. The wild Pokemon got confused by the traps, some of them were injured, and they could not move for a few seconds.

These few seconds was what Axel’s team needed. Since all of the team had trained on their formation together. The combined attack power of ’Sandstorm’ with moves like ’Stone Edge’ and ’Flash Cannon’ was very effective. This took out most of the Pokemon that were coming to attack them.

’Sandstorm’ was a weather move and also a terrain move. The combine power of 20 Pokemon using the same move was very deadly. There were 2 Pokemon who were controlling the storm to their advantage. They had been specifically trained for it.

While using the move ’Sandstrom,’ the teleportation team backed out and started using special attack moves like ’Confusion’, ’Psybeam’, and ’Psychic’. This worked as crowd control, as most of the Pokemon became confused.

All the formations were strictly monitored by the team’s captain and further monitored by the commanders.

The three months of training were showing now, and Axel could tell that unless a king-rank Pokemon arrived, the team could handle it comfortably.

So, Axel went to his office, which was known as the communication room. This was where any immediate help request would come, and a commander was responsible for being there at all times.

Axel went inside and found Dory was inside the room waiting for an emergency call.

"Dory, how is the battle going? Any calls received?", asked Axel.

"No, sir, the battle is going smoothly. The north side and the west side have also contacted the wild Pokemon. Only the east side is left," said Dory.

"Any request from them?"

"As of right now, no. But I hear that the seaside might get dangerous in a couple of days.", said Dory.

"Oh, now that is new information. Tell me if there are any requests from our side. Also, call Dorton after 2 hours. I also need a battle report every 1 hour, and you and Ashimita will be responsible for it.", said Axel.

Since Ashmita and Dory didn’t command any fighting force, they were responsible for communication and reports.

Dorton was responsible for healing his teammates, and most of his team consisted of grass-type Pokemon that could heal others. Of course, there was also an offensive side of Dorton’s team, but Axel believed that it was not needed right now, so he felt that Dorton might not be as busy as others.

"Dorton, what is the status of the tide battle right now?", asked Axel.

"Sir, we have faced no casualties, and none of our Pokemon or our members are seriously hurt. There are some minor injuries, and those have been taken care of."

"Good. Is our plan of rotation working perfectly?"

"Sir, it has only been two hours, so I cannot say for sure, but from what I can see there are definitely some positive results.", said Dorton.

The rotation plan stated that a team of Pokemon would only fight for 30 minutes and then rest for 10 minutes. They would complete this rotation 6 times, and then they would be basically done for the day and would fight the next day.

So, a team of Pokemon would fight for only 3 hours a day, taking 1 hour of breaks. This was done for many reasons.

One reason was the accumulation of tiredness. The tide battle mainly meant that they were defending the post. So, they had to be ready at every moment, every second of the day.

If a regular break time was not established, the Pokemon would start to get tired as the days went on. At the end of the tide battle, their stamina would not only be all-time low, but they would also accumulate many injuries that would affect their performance. The tide battle at the end was considered extremely volatile and deadly.

"Supervise the rotation and give me a proper report tomorrow. Now, I want to ask the types of Pokemon that are attacking us right now.

You must have recorded all the species, right?", asked Axel.

"I have already done so. Sir, we are only seeing Pokemon species from Kanto region. There are some Johto region Pokemon like Ampharos, Bellossom, and Donpha,n but they are not in the majority.

The current problem we are facing is from Abrok and its poison-type moves like ’Slude wave’, ’Sludge bomb’, and ’Venoshock’. There is a big group of Arbok from rare rank to pseudo-king rank, and all have good synergy.

The water-type Pokemon like Poliwrath, Golduck, and Kingler are in lower numbers, and ’Thunder wave’ from teleportation team is very effective on them."

"Hmm, do I need to call out my Nidoking for the poison problem?", asked Axel.

Poison-type Pokemon were weak to ground types, and since Nidoking was a poison Pokemon with very high resistance to poison types, it was perfect to deal with them.

"No sir. Things have not gotten out of hand. I believe that we can handle it right now.", said Dorton.

"Alright. If you need my help, then do ask me.", said Axel.

Axel could understand why Dorton was denying the help. Nidoking would have clearly solved this problem, but since they were not facing any powerful Pokemon right now and things were under control, Dorton wanted the new members and also the old members of Fairy Tail to get experience in dealing with these tricky situations.

Till now, flying-type Pokemon and ghost-type Pokemon have not attacked. As per his experience, flying-type Pokemon normally don’t attack during the first day of the tide battle.

But he was still worried about the ghost-type Pokemon. That was why Axel had assigned six commanders for the night’s watch. Also, Axel would be there to help them.

This was the first time Axel had assigned so many resources and members for the night’s watch, but it was needed.

Ghost-type Pokemon were very tricky to deal with.

"Dorton, I’m sleeping right now. If there is any issue, don’t hesitate to wake me up," said Axel.

Being the leader of the whole team, Axel must be ready for anything. Also, he was planning to battle at night. So, he needed rest when he could get it.

Axel grudgingly opened his eyes and slowly sat on the bed. He could see Alon calling him to wake him up.

"Is it already 6 p.m.?", asked Axel.

"Yes, sir. It is already 6 p.m. We are getting ready for the tide battle. The commanders are going to change now.", said Alon.

Axel nodded and went to his office to get some new information. He was surprised to see that there were no deaths of team members or their Pokemon, which was very rare.

While the deaths of team members were rare in Axel’s leadership, the death of their Pokemon was not something they could avoid. But right now, there was no death of Pokemon.

"Hmm, Only 5 of them are seriously injured, huh? How long would it take them to get ready for the fight?", asked Axel.

"Sir, at least a week.", said Ashimita.

"It’s okay. Injuries cannot be avoided in such a large-scale tide battle. 5 is a very low number.", said Axel.

After that, he turned towards Alon and asked, "What about the ghost-type Pokemon? Are they attacking right now?"

"Sir, we have yet to spot any ghost-type Pokemon right now. But I feel that it will start soon enough," said Alon.

After waiting for nearly 30 minutes, he finally got a call.
