CHAPTER 897: TALKING WITH GARRY

A few days have passed. The tide battle had turned to normal. They were facing less pressure than they had expected. After the first night, there was no problem in the night watch. That Gengar was an anomaly.

"Hector, what do you think?", asked Axel.

"Sir, I feel that the changes we made in the tower affected the number of wild Pokemon that we are going to face. Except for the first day, the battle is going smoothly, and the pressure is very low.

There have been no casualties these past few days. There were some serious injuries among the Pokemon of our members, but that was all. They will be recovered after a few weeks of rest."

Minor and routine injuries could be cured in a few days, while serious injuries would take a month to deal with. Meanwhile, permanent injuries can never be healed. It was like being disabled.

"What about the flying-type Pokemons?"

"Hmm, are they now? Ok, tell them that I will talk to all of them in a conference call, and I want 10% more of the carcasses after this tide is over."

Garry was very desperate now. He was the leader of all three commanders, and all of them were from the league.

It was not that the public was openly criticizing them, but the public had started to doubt the league. So, he had received explicit instructions from his superiors to outperform Axel in every way. This was their chance to get some of their reputation back.

However, they were not only failing this mission, but also losing more soldiers than they had anticipated.

For some reason, the tide battle behavior did not follow the traditional route. Like Axel and his team, the other sides also faced a difficult tide battle on their first or second day.

"Hello, this is Sujan. Temporary commander of the east zone."

Everyone introduced themselves. This was one of the protocols during the tide battle. It was done to remove any confusion and save some time.

"Now, you lot are pestering my commander to talk to me. You must know that I am handling the South Zone. The most dangerous zone. So, what is the problem?"

"Axel, unlike you, we are facing a lot of deaths and casualties in our zones. As you said, you are defending the most dangerous zone, yet there are no deaths....."

Garry explained his situation when Axel cut him off, "And the people of the league have a problem with that?"

"No... No... You are thinking it wrong. We just want some of your advice.", said Garry.

’Damn that Gerad!!!’, shouted Garry in this mind.

He knew that Axel hated the league, and it was only due to the arrogance of his leader, Gerad. Now, he was facing the consequences.

"Garry, you must know that the strategies I implied required much sacrifice and resources. I will not hand that over to you just because you asked nicely," said Axel.

"But we agree to pay the price."

"The price was to have this conversation. Not to give you all my secrets."

"YOUUUUUU!!! You think that you are so slick just...."

"Stop it, Sujan. I am the one talking.", shouted Garry and continued, "Axel, I know that you hate the league. I must say that the feeling is mutual, but if you don’t help us or give us your strategies, then many people will die. Even if you hate them, you must think about those people.

The soldiers working under the league don’t have any hatred for you. It is only the higher-ups who don’t like you. You do know that, right?"

After hearing it, Axel calmed down. He wanted to punish the league, but the normal soldiers and people were not on his target list.

"Okay, I agree. Now listen to me very carefully. Even if I tell you my strategies, they will not work now. These strategies must be applied before the start of the tide battle.

"What are the other reasons your team performs better than ours?" Guru asked. He wanted to find a loophole allowing them to capitalize and save their team and their dignity.

"Well, one of the other main reasons my team is performing better than yours is because of my team composition. There are various teams under me, and each of them has its own responsibilities and functions. Like there is a team for pure attack, there is another team for pure defense, and some for healing the injured Pokemon.

Of course, I will not go into detail as this is my core secret. I will not tell about it even if you decide to sell me yourself.

But there are some ways in which I can help you. Tell me what problem you are facing right now, and maybe I can advise you."

Axel was enjoying a lot. He had always hated the league due to Gerad. Now, he was getting some sweet revenge.

They asked some questions and also described their situation in detail. Axel gave them some advice on how to deal with their problem.

Maybe it was because he came from another world where he had learned about the historic battles of his previous world, Axel knew how to make strategies in the tide battle. It came naturally to him, while others struggled with it.

After talking to them for an hour, the conference session was over.

"Remember to pay your dues.", said Axel and hung up the phone.

After talking to them, Axel wanted a break. So, he ordered the chef to make him a cold beverage. One of the things that he missed the most from his previous world was cold drinks like Pepsi and Coca-Cola.

"Ashmita, how are my young Pokemons doing in the battlefield?", asked Axel.

Axel had not sent any of his older Pokemon in the current battle. It was just not the right time. The team commonly faced one or two king-rank Pokemon daily, and they handled it quite well. Each of the captains had a tier 1 king rank Pokemon, and there were commanders to look after them in times of need.

So, Axel was not using his main Pokemon right now. They were a war deterrent and should only be used when needed. If even one of them got seriously injured, the pressure on Axel and his team would significantly increase.

But young ones needed experience in the tide battles. So, Axel gave them access to battle in the presence of Gogoat and Ashmita.

"Sir, they are doing exceptionally well. None of them are seriously hurt, but there are some minor injuries. Togekiss is doing especially well. They seem to have come up with a team strategy that increased their efficiency," said Ashmita, full of pride.

Of course, Ashmita could not go to the tide battle field but she was given a job to look after them from the walls. She had been doing it for the past few days, and she now felt that these Pokemon were like her family. So, she felt proud when they did something good.
