When the Normal Type event concluded, the Psychic Type event also ended.
Wallace’s Starmie, although trained by him—a master specializing in Water Types—still possessed such profound achievements in psychic power that it earned the admiration of many.
Wallace’s five victories stood like a towering mountain, making others feel they were insurmountable.
Unless either Terrance or Leo could secure victories in the remaining two events, there would be no way to rival Wallace.
However, Terrance didn’t have any Dark-type Pokémon on his side, and as for Leo, he simply hadn’t participated in either the Dragon Type or Dark Type event.
At the same time, Terrance had also learned from Albus that he planned to reveal Darkrai.
Albus and Darkrai would be participating in the Dark Type event. Just imagining it, Terrance could already picture the despair on the faces of the other competitors.
But all of that no longer had anything to do with Terrance. Regardless of whether he would end up facing Leo or Albus in the upcoming battle segment, he now needed to hurry up and improve Altaria’s strength.
Against opponents with Elite Four-level combat power like them, only a Mega Altaria would be capable of defeating them.
Altaria was also the Pokémon with the most trump cards in Terrance’s possession.

With only two events remaining, the festival’s entertainment events were also gradually nearing their end.
At the venue for the Dark Type event, a large number of participating Trainers and Coordinators had already arrived. They looked around at the spacious plaza and clicked their tongues in mild astonishment.
Especially Albus, whose gaze landed on several reflector devices that resembled "solar panels," and he silently wondered what kind of cutting-edge tech this was supposed to be.
In this regard, most Pokémon found themselves constrained by human technology, unable to voice their grievances. As technology continued to advance, even the exploration of the wild no longer relied so heavily on powerful Trainers.
Technology and weaponry alone were already enough to defeat the vast majority of Pokémon.
As the staff maintained order and the event was about to begin, the Trainers began to send out their Pokémon.
Poochyena and Mightyena were the most common. In addition, Liepard, Honchkrow, Shiftry, Drapion, Weavile, and Houndoom; these Pokémon with menacing appearances also emerged beside their respective Trainers.
With the appearance of these Pokémon, the atmosphere immediately turned heavy. As Dark Types, almost none of them had a friendly demeanor.
Amidst these Pokémon, even the Trainers themselves felt a sense of oppression.
Moreover, there were even rare Pokémon like Tyranitar, Absol, Hydreigon, and Spiritomb present. Their aura was undoubtedly even more formidable.
While observing their own Pokémon, the Trainers were also carefully observing others’ Pokémon. A few of the Pokémon present were so ferocious-looking that their very appearance was enough to startle onlookers.
However, the atmosphere at the venue suddenly fell silent from one particular direction.
In that direction, both the Dark Type Pokémon and their Trainers took a step back in unison, staring in shock and suspicion at the familiar figure in front of them, and the Pokémon beside him.
Albus...they were not unfamiliar with him.
But that black, shadow-like Pokémon beside him made both the Trainers and their Pokémon feel as though they had plunged into an icy abyss... They had never before felt such soul-shaking malice.
This Pokémon had a white, smoke-like, ever-churning hair-like mass that covered most of its face, revealing only a pair of dim, blue eyes.
In addition, around its neck was a red, jagged collar-like structure that looked like a blood-stained scarf. Draped over each of its shoulders were long, black, tattered ribbon-like appendages, resembling jagged bolts of black lightning.
At the same time, its black, claw-like hands emitted tendrils of mist, giving off an extraordinarily sinister aura. Its entire body was shaped like an hourglass, and it exerted an overwhelming pressure not only on other Pokémon, but on the humans present as well.
"Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon. It is said that on moonless nights, it appears within human nightmares."
From the Pokédex devices in several Trainers’ hands came a mechanical, cold voice. Though it spoke only a few short lines, it was enough to make them deeply wary of this Darkrai.
The commotion here even began to spread outward, drawing the attention of many onlookers.
Darkrai, although not classified as a Legendary Pokémon, was still extremely rare. It was a Mythical Pokémon whose rarity surpassed even that of powerful Pokémon like Tyranitar and Dragonite.
With the appearance of such a Pokémon, even the faintest rumor could draw the attention of several major poacher gangs in Hoenn, locking their sights onto Albus.
The arrival of Darkrai caused a considerable stir, though not to the point of halting the event. All the participating Pokémon entered the designated area of the plaza, waiting for the event to begin.
Even with so many Pokémon gathered in the plaza, the space was not crowded. However, it was obvious that no Pokémon dared to approach the area around Albus’s Darkrai.
Even though it had not deliberately released any aura, just standing there, Darkrai was enough to instill fear into many of the Pokémon.
Countless eyes were now fixed in that direction. Even a few prominent figures never let their gaze drift from Albus’s Darkrai. From the moment Albus’s Lucario had appeared earlier, he had already been under strict surveillance; anything involving Albus was considered a key point of surveillance.
The event began.
In an instant, a tidal wave of concentrated malice converged and collided.
One, two, three waves of evil energy were nothing, but when hundreds of them erupted simultaneously in a crushing assault, the resulting power was immense.
Above the plaza, the sky became shrouded in endless haze. The sound of the colliding auras was so intense, it seemed as though space itself had solidified. The overwhelming malevolence caused Trainers watching from outside the arena to involuntarily shudder at the sight of each Pokémon’s twisted, ferocious face.
The most crucial moment came when the "reflector panel" like devices surrounding the plaza lit up. This terrifying malicious aura was completely absorbed into the devices, with not a single wisp leaking into the outside world. Moreover, the malicious aura was then reflected back at even greater intensity onto the Pokémon within the arena.
"Awooo~~" One of the Dark-type Pokémon couldn’t withstand the pressure. Its gaze trembled with fear, as if suffering from overwhelming stimulation, and with a loud thud, it collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
There were also Pokémon who, under the pressure of this overwhelming aura, desperately reinforced their own aura, trying to resist the influence of the external aura. Relying on sheer willpower, they managed to hold on.
But among these Pokémon, there was one that stood out completely. Darkrai floated there expressionlessly, looking around blankly, letting the waves of malice wash over its body, gently swaying it a few times.
Even with the malice amplified, it still had no effect on Darkrai’s mental state.
As it watched the other Pokémon struggling to endure, some even attempting to use their own aura to suppress their competitors, Darkrai’s dim blue eyes suddenly lit up and it let out a sharp, piercing cry.
At Albus’s command, it began to move.
"Eeeeeee~~~~~~"
In an instant, Darkrai’s entire body stretched out, and its black body suddenly radiated an immense aura!
A terrifying Dark Pulse aura burst forth like a detonated nuclear bomb, spreading outward at high speed. The enormous plaza was instantly engulfed by its domain of malice.
As this overwhelming malevolence pierced through their entire bodies, countless Pokémon wore blank expressions, frozen in fear.
The malice continued to spread, until it struck the "reflector panels," bounced back, and swept over the arena again from all directions. Only then did Darkrai stop releasing the malice.
The dark brown aura that rebounded swept over every Pokémon like a hurricane. Originating from Darkrai, this malice, amplified several times, suppressed every single Pokémon present.
Thud... thud... thud...
The entire process was eerily silent. Most spectators didn’t even have time to blink before one by one, Dark-type Pokémon, including even Pokémon like Tyranitar and Hydreigon, were knocked unconscious by the amplified mental pressure and collapsed to the ground.
Moments later, thick dust hung in the air. At this point, not a single Pokémon was left standing in the arena.
Only Darkrai remained, calmly floating in midair like a sovereign of darkness, silently surveying its surroundings.
Upon witnessing this scene, Raoul Contesta, one of the higher-ups in charge of this festival, broke into a cold sweat as he looked toward Darkrai, his heart filled with bitterness.
