Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth
Chapter 723: Pile Of Treasures
Mew didn’t have much of a concept of "treasures" in its mind, but when Julian explained that treasures were rare or uncommon things, Mew immediately understood.
Then, Julian watched as Mew waved its tiny hand, and one item after another began to fall in front of him like raindrops.
In just a short while, the treasures had piled up to nearly his height.
"Mew?"
Mew: "Are these the ones?"
Julian was still in a daze and didn’t register what Mew had said at all.
"Luca~"
Lucario gently tapped Julian with its Aura, snapping him out of his stupor.
"Ah—oh! Right, let me take a look first."
Coming back to his senses, Julian hurriedly replied.
There were so many items—many of which he had never even seen before—so he had to check them one by one with his Probing Eyes.
[Stone Marrow: The essence formed over hundreds of thousands of years within a mountain range. When used by Rock- or Ground-type Pokémon, it elevates their potential to the Purple-grade and accelerates their growth. For other types, it boosts the power of Rock- and Ground-type moves by 50%.]
An Ultimate treasure—no doubt about it. The very first item was already at the level of an Ultimate treasure.
Julian took a deep breath and continued checking the second and third items.
[Minor Nature Core: An extremely rare natural essence, formed with a one-in-a-million chance in areas rich with Grass-type energy. When used by a Grass-type Pokémon, it enhances their potential, foundation, and the power of Grass-type moves. (Exclusive to Grass-type Pokémon.)]
[Ambrosia: Absorbed the essence of the sun and moon for a thousand years. Consuming it extends lifespan by 200 years. (Usable by both humans and Pokémon, but only once per individual.)]
[Glossy Ganoderma: A non-elemental Ultimate treasure usable by both humans and Pokémon. Purifies the body, rebirths the flesh, and increases lifespan.]
[Heart of Steel: Upon use, a Pokémon gains a 70% chance to completely negate a fatal attack. The chance decreases to 35% on the second attempt and continues to halve thereafter. (Exclusive to Steel-type Pokémon.)]
[Blood of the Gods: A crystallized remnant of the blood shed during the War of the Gods. When used, it enhances a Pokémon’s potential. (Only usable by Pokémon with Purple-grade potential.)]
[Triple Flame: When using Fire-type moves, there is a 50% chance for the move’s power to double and a 30% chance for it to triple.]
There were a total of 120 treasures, including seven Ultimate treasures, and the rest were all second only to the Ultimate treasures.
Julian’s heart rate had already shot past 120. His eyes were red with excitement, and his breathing ragged.
"Lu…ca…rio…"
Gasping three times a second, Julian turned to Lucario.
Fortunately, Lucario had always been the calm one—unlike Metagross, whose eyes were practically glowing red at the sight of the Blood of the Gods.
Upon hearing Julian’s call, Lucario immediately placed a paw on Julian’s chest and used its Aura to stabilize his wildly fluctuating emotions.
After a long moment, Julian finally managed to calm down.
He quickly tore his eyes away from the pile of treasures—otherwise, he might get overwhelmed all over again.
Mew looked at Julian in confusion. Weren’t these the rare treasures he was talking about?
After all, it had spent countless years slowly collecting them.
"Mew?"
Mew: "Not good enough? I still have more."
"No, no! These are perfect!"
Seeing Mew getting ready to pull out even more, Julian quickly stopped it. He knew when to quit while he was ahead.
Even if Mew was generous and pure, he couldn’t let himself get too greedy. Didn’t he already feel the piercing glares the three Legendary Titans were giving him?
He felt like a shady uncle tricking a kid out of their allowance with candy.
Mew truly lived up to its reputation as an ancient Mythical Pokémon—the treasures it had collected nearly gave Julian a heart attack.
Even though he had the Dowsing Machine and had found several Ultimate treasures himself before, it was always one or two at a time—never like now, where he got seven Ultimate treasures in one go. And the other 100+ were all just slightly below that level.
Any one of these could spark a frenzy among Elite Trainers.
And among the seven Ultimate treasures were even the Glossy Ganoderma and Ambrosia—the former being a life-saving treasure, the latter for extending lifespan.
And the Ambrosia Mew gave him? It was half the size of a damn table! That much could extend his entire family’s lifespan by two centuries.
"Here!"
Julian immediately purchased ten more boxes of Mew’s exclusive Pokéblocks from his system shop and offered them to Mew.
Mew had been so generous—he couldn’t be stingy.
Sure, ten boxes of Pokéblocks couldn’t compare to the value of these treasures, but it was still a gesture of goodwill. Otherwise, Julian would feel too guilty.
Mew happily accepted the ten boxes, its long tail curling affectionately around Julian’s neck before it plopped itself right on top of his head.
Celebi: "Oh, hell no. That's MY spot."
This was intolerable! First, that sly faker stole its fried chicken—now it was stealing its perch?!
Celebi shot toward Mew, tiny fists raised, ready to teach this guy a lesson.
But the very next second, Julian returned Celebi to its Pokéball—and even locked the Pokéball shut.
Julian: 'This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to bond with Mew. I’m not letting you ruin it.'
Not to mention, Mew’s body was much softer than Celebi’s. Julian felt like a warm, squishy water balloon was resting on his head. It even carried a faint, pleasant fragrance.
Not that Celebi didn’t smell nice too—just… different.
But right now, Julian found Mew’s scent far more appealing.
His tendency to favor the new over the old was already starting to show.
Just as Julian reached out to pet Mew, the Mythical Pokémon seemed to sense his intention. Its tail unwound from his neck, and it floated away.
"Uh… my head was just a little itchy."
Julian offered an awkward explanation.
Sure enough, Mew was still wary of him.
Julian felt a little disappointed that he didn’t get to pet a First-class Legendary like Mew, but he didn’t let it show on his face.
Sure, he had once summoned Mewtwo—another First-class Legendary—but in terms of sheer cuteness? Ten Mewtwos combined couldn’t compare to that fluffy tail.
"Mew~"
Mew: "I'm sleepy… going back to nap now."
Mew yawned, a drowsy look appearing on its face.
It had originally been sleeping and was only woken up because of Celebi’s disturbance. Now that the excitement had passed, drowsiness returned.
Besides, First-class Legendaries like Mew spent most of their time in slumber. After all, with lifespans bordering on the infinite, sleep was the only way to pass their long, endless years.
Watching Mew float away, Julian couldn’t help but call out: "Will we meet again?"
"Mew~"
Mew glanced back: "Of course! You’re nice. I’ll come find you after my nap."
Julian was excited at first… but then his smile froze.
The hell—after the nap?!
Even Celebi used to sleep for decades at a time.
And for Mew, as a First-class Legendary? A "quick nap" probably meant at least a century.
Sure, with his extended lifespan, waiting a hundred years wasn’t impossible. But if Mew really showed up after all that time? He swore he'd capture it on the spot.
A hundred years from now, who knows how powerful Julian would have become.
