It spiraled downward, crashing out of the sky.

Mega Mewtwo X, seeing its opponent defeated, casually waved its hand and reverted to its base form.

Reshiram had lost the ability to fight.

It was a total domination—a clean one-hit victory.

Damon stared at Mewtwo as if he had seen a ghost.

"You… how could you possibly defeat the God of Truth, Reshiram? That's impossible! It can't be!"

Reshiram's defeat meant everything Damon had planned and worked toward for over a decade was about to fall apart.

"Vee vee! Vee!"

Victini, still snuggled in Ash's arms, chirped something at Damon.

The little Pokémon looked up at Ash—who nodded.

"Alright, Mewtwo… I'm counting on you."

Cynthia and Sabrina exchanged curious glances. They weren't sure what Ash was planning.

Mewtwo nodded. Victini closed its eyes.

Ash's Aura of Transcendence activated—one thread connecting to Victini, the other to Damon.

And then—

Damon saw a vision:

A memory from an ancient kingdom—back when the King of the People of the Vale had used Victini's power to move the Sword of the Vale and seal away the chaotic Dragon Force threatening to destroy the land.

The king died from exhaustion, but before passing, he told Victini:

"Never allow the Sword of the Vale to be moved again. If it ever shifts, the Dragon Force will spiral out of control and unleash unimaginable destruction."

The vision ended there.

But Damon understood now.

He had been wrong.

The Sword of the Vale was never meant to be moved. The "legend" passed down by the People of the Vale was a lie.

The truth was—the king had moved the Sword on purpose.

To move it again would not awaken their people—it would bring catastrophe upon the world.

Suddenly, from deep beneath the Sword of the Vale, a black egg cracked open.

A shadowy dragon burst forth from the depths!

Zekrom—the Black Dragon!

Its awakening was triggered by the immense power of its counterpart, Reshiram.

For when Truth reaches its peak, Ideals must rise.

But unlike the original events, Ash had prevented the disaster without Zekrom's help.

Damon, changed by what he saw, turned over a new leaf.

Ash convinced both Reshiram and Zekrom—the gods of Truth and Ideals—to lend their strength.

Victini's power only truly manifests in the face of real danger.

In the original timeline, Victini had to break the seal from inside the Sword of the Vale—which was far easier than breaking it from outside.

But this time, thanks to Ash, the crisis was already averted.

Now, all that remained was to break open the ancient sealed Pillar of Protection—from the outside.

Damon, having realized his mistake, helped Ash locate the most remote Pillar of Protection.

"Ash… do we really need to use that much power on this pillar?"

Cynthia asked, puzzled. Did it really require something on Reshiram and Zekrom's level?

"Yeah. Some ancient stuff is so powerful, even modern science can't explain it. When reason fails, sometimes brute force is the only answer."

Victini lay on Ash's head, tail flicking excitedly. It was eager to see the oceans, the mountains, the rivers—everything.

"RAAAAHHH!"

Reshiram moved first.

A Dragon Pulse fired straight at the Pillar of Protection!

CLAAAAANG!!!

A deafening metallic sound rang out!

Mewtwo instantly activated its psychic field to muffle the blast—otherwise, the entire city of Eindoak would've been shaken to its core.

"KRAAAAAHHH!"

Zekrom followed—its Dragon Pulse crossed Reshiram's like an "X" and struck the exact same spot on the pillar.

"Ash, now it's up to you—Regigigas!"

Ash nodded at the Colossal Pokémon.

With the twin dragons' might and Regigigas's raw strength, they had enough power to break it.

Focus Punch!

BOOOOM!!!

CRACK—CRACK—!

The ancient seal shattered at last under the combined might of the three Legendary Pokémon.

The Pillar of Protection had finally been broken.
