"Good job! Don't give your opponent any chance to breathe — use Waterfall together with Body Slam!"

Seeing Poliwrath successfully smash the Beautifly — still shielded by a cracking green energy barrier — into the water, Brawly's heart leapt with joy. He immediately ordered Poliwrath to press the attack.

Poliwrath obeyed at once. Its body shifted into a diving stance, violent torrents bursting from around it as it plummeted like a falling boulder, transforming into a raging water dragon that hurtled straight toward where the Beautifly had splashed down.

The Shiny Beautifly, protected by Protect, was still unharmed — but now that the energy shield had vanished, being trapped underwater left it struggling. Its delicate wings could hardly spread against the water's drag.

Not knowing how to swim, the Shiny Beautifly was like an insect mired in a swamp, its movements terribly hindered. All it could do was watch as Poliwrath bore down on it from above like a furious comet.

Experienced as it was, the Shiny Beautifly knew the truth: in rain, Water-type moves became monstrously powerful. Poliwrath's raging strike was terrifying. With its fragile body, one hit would mean certain defeat.

"Don't panic. Flying-type energy also exists in the water. Sense it, then use your mastery over Flying energy to guide it. That will help you escape."

As the Beautifly despaired for lack of options, Sato's calm voice resonated in its mind.

Hearing him, its panic instantly subsided. The Shiny Beautifly shut its eyes, extending its senses, trying with all its might to detect and manipulate the faint traces of Flying-type energy scattered in the water.

Through both its master-level control of Flying energy and the power of the mutated Supreme Sky Splitting Stone embedded in its chest, it succeeded. Beautifly felt those tiny threads of Flying energy and shaped them into a small current of airflow.

That current stirred the stagnant water around it, shaping it into a controlled flow that carried its body upward and away from its original position, swiftly rising toward the surface.

Moments later, Poliwrath crashed down from the sky in the form of a water dragon, smashing into the very spot the Beautifly had just abandoned.

The impact erupted like an underwater torpedo detonation. The entire Water Field exploded upward, sending waves soaring into the air.

But Beautifly had already escaped. Riding the spray of a wave, it burst free from the water and beat its wings once more, returning to the sky.

"Impossible! Barely scratched — since when could a Beautifly swim?!"

Brawly's face twisted in disbelief as he watched the Shiny Beautifly not only survive unscathed but even escape its trap.

"Beautiful dodge. Now's the time to counterattack! Beautifly, use your strongest Gust — drag Poliwrath out of the water!"

Sato's lips curved into a small smile. He nodded at Beautifly and called out the order.

At once, the Supreme Sky Splitting Stone on its chest blazed with azure light, and its entire body overflowed with immense Flying-type energy.

A massive six-meter-wide cyclone roared to life, its winds churning the waters below into a spiraling vortex.

Within moments, a giant whirlpool formed on the surface, anchored to a towering water tornado.

Poliwrath had just used a burst of explosive speed to close in earlier — but the side effect was now apparent. Its powerful legs were seizing with cramps.

With its limbs somewhat paralyzed, its mobility plummeted. The whirlpool's pull overwhelmed it, dragging the struggling Poliwrath straight into the heart of the water tornado.

"Good! Keep it there — now hit it with Electroweb!"

Sato's voice rang with command.

The Shiny Beautifly's wings crackled with electric light, shooting threads of current into the tornado.

Instantly, lightning danced wildly through the raging waters. Trapped inside, Poliwrath was assaulted by both Flying-type and Electric-type energy. Its screams echoed, wracked by double super-effective damage.

"Damn it…"

Brawly's face paled. He cursed inwardly, but he knew the truth — with its legs still compromised, there was no escape. All he could do was pray Poliwrath could endure.

A full minute later, the Beautifly released its control. The tornado collapsed into torrents of water rushing back into the field. From the flood, Poliwrath's charred body floated limply.

Seconds passed. Poliwrath surfaced, blackened and unmoving. No matter how Brawly called, it gave no response. The battle was over.

At that moment, the rain ceased. The clouds parted, and sunlight poured down on the battlefield once more.

"Poliwrath is unable to battle! The winner is Beautifly!"

The referee counted silently, then raised his flag and announced the result.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The audience burst into spontaneous applause. The duel had been thrilling, with reversals at every turn — a spectacular fight that left the crowd feeling extremely excited.

Yet many also sighed in pity for Poliwrath's defeat.

"That Beautifly… what a tough one. To turn the tide from such a desperate position — I never saw that coming."

Among the spectators, Tobias — disguised as an ordinary viewer — stared solemnly at the Shiny Beautifly circling above the field. His face was grave.

"Return, Poliwrath. You did well. Leave the rest to your teammates."

Brawly recalled his fallen partner, murmuring comfort. Then he raised his head, his playful demeanor gone, his expression now heavy with resolve.

"Your turn, Medicham. Show them your true strength."

He drew a handmade PokeBall marked with a black fist insignia and hurled it high into the air.
