CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32

Yu Jin’s POV

I should have known the universe hated me. Every time I told myself to breathe, something worse happened. And today, after the night I had, I really didn’t have the strength for anything else.

Woo Min stood beside me, jaw tight, fist closed, eyes locked on the floor. His scent was already leaking a little, but still controlled. Sharp and heavy. Annoyed. I could feel it pricking at the edge of my skin, but not enough to knock me over yet.

"Just... let it go," I whispered. My voice cracked halfway through because everything inside me was shaking. I didn’t want him to do something he’d regret. I didn’t want myself to explode either. "Please, Woo Min. You’ll kill him."

His head turned slowly to me, like he couldn’t believe I was asking that of him.

"Yu Jin," he said, voice low, the dangerous kind of calm. "Don’t ask me to let go of him."

And right at that exact second...

Ding.

The elevator door slid open.

My stomach dropped to the floor.

Park Min walked out.

He didn’t even look guilty. Didn’t even look scared. He actually looked relieved to see me. His eyes softened like he thought we were about to have some happy reunion.

The moment he saw me, he opened his mouth.

"Yu Jin..."

Woo Min moved before the second syllable even left Park Min’s throat.

The air cracked.

I felt it instantly.

His scent exploded like someone had opened the world’s dirtiest toilet after ten men had fought inside it. Thick, heavy and suffocating. It slapped into me so hard the back of my throat burned. The pressure hit my ears. My chest tightened. My knees almost buckled.

"W-Woo Min..." I choked, hand on the wall.

Nurses gasped like the floor tilted.

Someone dropped a tray.

A Beta nurse gagged into her elbow.

An Omega nurse grabbed the wall and slid down like she was about to faint.

"What the hell...?!"

"Is that a gas leak?!"

"No.. it’s his pheromones!"

"Turn on ventilation! NOW!"

Chaos spread fast. Humans didn’t know exactly what was happening, but they felt it. Their eyes widened. The hallway shifted. People stumbled back, clutching their throats like the air was too thick to swallow.

Woo Min wasn’t even looking at them.

He was staring straight at Park Min.

Park Min froze like a deer in headlights. His face drained. His knees shook. He coughed once, then twice, then dropped down on one knee, gasping like he’d been punched in the lungs.

I reached out to grab Woo Min’s arm, stupid idea, but I did it anyway.

"Stop," I whispered. "Please, stop. You’re hurting everyone..."

He didn’t even blink.

"Good," he said quietly. "Let him feel what he did to you."

Then he took one step toward Park Min.

And the whole hallway cracked open.

Park Min fell fully to his knees, both hands on the floor, coughing, struggling to breathe. His eyes were wide, terrified, confused.

"W-Wait... I didn’t... I didn’t come to fight.." he rasped.

The scent pressure crushed down harder.

Humans clutched walls, coughing. A doctor shouted for someone to get security. Someone else yelled to call emergency ventilation. A nurse tried to approach, but the second she got within five steps of Woo Min, she stumbled backward and dropped to the floor.

"You’re an S-class Alpha! Pleasseee sir! You need to calm down!" she yelled, voice shaking. "This is a hospital...!"

He didn’t even look at her.

He crouched slightly, eyes locked on Park Min like he was choosing where to break him first.

I stepped forward, even though my head was spinning.

"Woo Min, look at me," I said. "Just look at me..."

He didn’t.

The bastard kept staring at Park Min.

"Why are you here?" Woo Min asked, voice sharp enough to cut skin.

Park Min lifted his head slowly, choking. "I... I came for the baby"

Wrong answer.

The walls shook from the pheromone pressure.

"O-Oh God someone call the police...!" a human nurse cried.

"No,not police ventilation, he’s an S-class...!" another yelled.

I turned toward Woo Min again, dizzy. My body reacted to him stronger than anyone else’s because I was an Omega who used to be bonded to him as he helped me get through my pregnancy with Rin. The pull was too much. My lungs tightened like they were getting squeezed.

My vision blurred.

"W-Woo Min... stop.. Rin needs..."

Before I could finish, the emergency room doors slammed open and two nurses sprinted out, panicked.

"His oxygen levels are dropping!" one screamed.

"We need AB-negative NOW!"

My entire heart dropped.

Rin.

And that was when Woo min’s pheromones softened. I didn’t even think. I moved.

I pushed past the swirling scent pressure, ignoring the way my legs trembled, ignoring the burn in my throat.

I heard Woo Min’s breath hitch like he wanted to stop me but also wanted to kill Park Min; I didn’t care.

I ran inside.

Inside the room, Rin was tiny.

His chest moved too fast. Machines beeped at the wrong speed. The nurse with him had panic written all over her face.

"He’s crashing," she whispered. "We’re trying, but we don’t have the negative on the floor."

"I’m AB-negative, and I’m his father," Park min said immediately.

"No," she said. "You’re not cleared. You’re physically unstable. Look at your vitals."

"I don’t care," he snapped. "Take it."

She looked torn. "I can’t take from you without approval...."

"THEN GET APPROVAL!" he yelled.

She flinched and ran.

I grabbed the side of Rin’s bassinet, breath shaking.

"Baby... hey... please..." My voice struggled to get out. "Don’t do this. Please don’t do this."

I heard footsteps, loud, stomping, angry ones.

Woo Min burst in. His scent was pulled back.

His eyes went straight to Rin.

"What happened," he demanded.

"Rin’s oxygen dropped. They need blood ASAP."

Woo Min’s face tightened. "He’s not allowed to die."

"I know," I said. "So go fix your mess out there before someone dies too."

He glanced toward the hallway, jaw clenched hard, then back at me. "Are you okay?"

"No."

His eyes softened just a fraction. "Stay with him. I’ll handle everything."

He left.

And I knew "handle" did not mean anything peaceful.

The moment he stepped outside again, yelling exploded.

I held Rin’s hand, trembling, listening to the chaos.

"YOU almost killed him!" someone screamed.

"He deserved worse," Woo Min’s voice shot back.

"You’re under hospital review..."

"Review me later."

"You need to BACK UP..."

"I’m not backing up until he leaves this floor."

A deep cough. Park Min’s voice, weak:

"You can’t tell me not to see my child"

"You don’t have a child," Woo Min growled. "You have a crime you committed."

Silence.

I felt the whole hallway freeze at once.

Even the machines paused for a second.

A nurse whispered sharply, "Sir, you cannot say things like that..."

"Then tell him to leave before I make him."

"We need his blood! Think for once Woo min!"

"That was until he decided to rape you?!"

The nurse by me gasped.

"Why not tell the whole hospital i was raped I said pulling him back, and no I wasn’t raped. Let it go!"

I covered my mouth, eyes burning, body shaking. Rin whimpered softly, and I ran my hand across his stomach to calm him.

I swallowed hard.

A few minutes later,

Nurses came back rushing in with the blood pack.

" Doctor Woo Min authorized it," one said breathlessly.

Of course he did, i forgot he had comnections here and he didn’t even want much of Park min’s blood and only took a little.

They worked fast, plugging tubes, checking vitals, adjusting oxygen. I felt myself shaking but I didn’t move from Rin’s side.

Then the door opened again.

A woman in a suit.

She had a clipboard.

Hard eyes.

A social worker.

I wanted to throw myself out the window.

She closed the door gently behind her like she was entering a crime scene.

"Mr. Yu Jin?" she asked.

"Yes," I whispered.

"I need to ask you a few questions."

"I can’t right now."

"It’s mandatory," she said. And I followed her outside.

"There was an incident involving an Alpha and a human outside. There were witnesses. There may be legal consequences. And somehow they both are tied to you, which also must have affected your child"

My stomach dropped.

She stepped closer.

"We also have medical staff reporting concerns about your physical condition, your emotional state, and inconsistencies in your file."

I stiffened.

"What inconsistencies?"

She looked directly at me.

"Sir... is it true you gave birth alone?"

I froze.

My mouth opened but no sound came out.

She stepped closer, softer now.

"Do you think as a member of the ABO society that’s okay?"

I shook my head quickly. "No. No, look I had artificial pheromones and it really helped and it came directly from the Alpha.. "

"And that isn’t okay, your baby is at risk because you decided to have a child with an irresponsible human. He doesn’t deserve to suffer," she said. "You’re shaking. You can barely stand. Your breathing is unstable. Your records say you lost a dangerous amount of blood during birth and still can’t..."

The door slammed open again.

Woo Min.

He walked in, eyes fixed on the woman.

"He’s not answering any more questions," he said.

She lifted her clipboard. "Sir..."

"He’s under my care," he cut in.

"Legally?"

"Yes."

"Show me."

He pulled something out of his coat. A form. Stamped and signed.

She stared at it. "You signed guardianship?"

"Yes," Woo Min said. "Effective yesterday morning."

Her eyebrows rose. "That’s extremely fast. ..."

"He needed someone," Woo Min said. "And I’m the only one he has."

Her gaze turned to me. "Do you agree with this arrangement?"

I swallowed.

I didn’t know what the right answer was.

"Yes," I whispered.

She sighed. "Very well. But I still need to ask.. "

"No," Woo Min repeated. "Not now. He’s exhausted. The baby is unstable."

She hesitated. "Then I’ll return later and note that your baby may be taken away from you."

She left.

Woo Min waited until the door closed, then turned to me slowly.

"You okay?" he asked.

"No," I whispered. "Your pheromones almost killed half the hospital."

"He deserved worse," he said quietly.

"That doesn’t fix anything."

"It fixes something."

I shook my head. "Park Min was trying to claim rights. You made that worse."

"I don’t care."

"Well, I do!"

He fell silent, watching me.

His eyes softened a little. "Come here."

"No."

"Yu Jin..."

"No," I repeated, louder this time.

He sighed and sat near Rin, rubbing his face.

We stayed there in thick silence until the door opened again.

Of course it was him.

Park Min.

He leaned against the frame, still pale, still breathing unevenly from Woo Min’s pheromone attack and immediately donating blood. A nurse tried to block him, but he shoved her hand aside.

"I need to talk to Yu Jin," he said.

Woo Min stood instantly.

"No," he growled.

"It’s between us," Park Min wheezed.

"No," I said too. "It’s not."

Park Min looked straight at me.

"I didn’t know," he said. "About the baby. About any of this."

" Don’t talk about him," Woo Min snapped.

Park Min lifted his hands weakly. "I’m not trying to steal him...."

"You already tried," Woo Min said.

"I just want to know the truth," Park Min said. "Yu Jin... did I hurt you?"

I froze.

A cold wave ran through me.

I couldn’t speak.

Not a word.

Because the moment I opened my mouth, I remembered his hands pinning me down. His breath against my ear. His voice said "just relax."

My stomach twisted.

My throat locked.

Woo Min stepped in front of me like a shield.

"Yes," he said sharply. "You did."

Park Min’s eyes widened. "That’s not... I didn’t..." and he ran a hand through his hair

"You’re disgusting," Woo Min said.

"It wasn’t...I didn’t force..."

"You did," Woo Min growled. "You just don’t want to admit it and he was half or not even conscious."

Park Min looked at me again.

"Yu Jin...."

I tried to speak.

But the words got stuck in the same place the fear lived.

"We’re going to sue him."

Woo min said turning to me, and the only reason we’re still here and not in court is because of how swamped we are.

"You know what?! Fuck it." Park min said, crunching the bridge of his nose.

"What the fuck did you ju...?" Woo min asked approaching him.

"I’m getting full custody over my son."

Park min said and my heart sinked.
