Pregnant for the straight CEO
Chapter 34
CHAPTER 34: CHAPTER 34
Yu Jin’s POV
Rin was sleeping on my chest. His little breath was warm.
Park Min stood on my left. Woo Min stood on my right. Both looked ready to punch someone.
After the lady made the statement of both her sons, Park Min’s eyes got super big. Like cartoon big.
Woo Min’s face went red with hate.
"What the hell?!" Park Min yelled. "I didn’t call you! No one called you!"
I hugged Rin tighter and tried to become invisible. I did not want trouble.
She smiled mean. "Surprise."
Park Min pointed at the door. "Get out! You wife cheater!
Woo Min stepped forward. "Leave. Now."
She looked at Rin on me. "So this is the baby. My grandson."
I whispered, "Her name is Rin..." but my voice was tiny.
She ignored me. She only looked at Park Min. "You made this mess. Now I’ll fix it."
"I don’t want your help!" Park Min shouted. "Go away!"
She just kept smiling. "Too late. I’m already here."
I wanted to disappear.
Park Min looked like he wanted to cry and scream at the same time.
Woo Min looked like he wanted to push her out the window.
We were all shocked.
No one asked her to come.
But she came anyway.
"You caused me to be here," she said to him. "And now that I see what’s going on, I actually love why."
"I didn’t call you," Park Min snapped. "I called my lawyer. Not you."
"Infortunately your lawyer knows me," she corrected. "And unlike you, I recognize a crisis when I see one."
"I don’t need you here."
"Clearly," she said, glancing between all three of us. "You’re handling everything beautifully."
Park Min looked five seconds away from throwing a chair.
Woo Min finally spoke. "Why are you here?"
She turned to him, her expression shifting into something colder and sharper. "Stop pretending you don’t know me."
Park Min and I both froze.
Woo Min went still. Completely still. His face didn’t move, not even a twitch. Like someone unplugged him.
But Park Hana didn’t stop.
"You’ve ignored me long enough," she said. "But that doesn’t erase the fact that I raised you."
My mouth dropped. Park Min’s eyes widened. I looked at Woo Min, waiting for him to deny it.
He didn’t.
She stepped closer to him. "You left home, but you didn’t stop being my son."
Park Min let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "Your son? You mean the one you treated like he didn’t exist?"
She rolled her eyes at him. "Please. You had everything you needed."
"Except a mother."
"You had a roof," she snapped. "That’s more than most people."
I wanted to crawl under the bed.
Then she turned back to Woo Min. "I’m tired of this performance. Stop acting like you were some stray I picked up from the street. I’m your mother. Whether you resent me or not."
I stared at Woo Min again. Still nothing. No denial. No shock. Just a frozen calm.
"So you’re... related?" I asked quietly, even though this clearly wasn’t my business. "You’re... brothers?"
Park Min answered before Woo Min could. "Half-brothers."
The words felt heavy, like the room tilted a little. Half-brothers. Woo Min and Park Min. Fighting over... me. My stomach twisted.
I looked at Woo Min again. "Why didn’t you ever say anything? We grew up in the same community. Your family wasn’t there."
"That wasn’t my home," he said, his voice low. "I stayed there alone."
"Alone?" I whispered.
He nodded once.
Park Hana didn’t seem bothered. If anything, she looked irritated that her dramatic revelation wasn’t getting applause.
"Well," she said, clapping her hands lightly. "Since everyone is caught up let’s move to the actual issue. The baby."
She pointed at Rin like he was a piece of luggage.
The social worker behind her who I completely forgot was there shifted uncomfortably.
"Mr. Woo, Mr. Park," the worker said, "we still need to discuss custody "
"No," Park Hana said, cutting her off. "We’re finished. You can leave."
The worker stared at her. "Ma’am, with respect, I can’t leave until..."
"I am the legal guardian and head of this family," Park Hana said. "I will make sure my grandson is taken care of."
"I’m his father," I said quietly, adjusting Rin in my arms.
Her eyes cut to me like I was a mosquito she wanted to swat.
"You," she said, "are a temporary complication."
Woo Min stepped forward. "Watch your mouth."
Park Min joined him. "Don’t talk to him like that."
She raised an eyebrow. "Funny. You two never agree on anything, yet you suddenly unite over an omega you impregnated."
I squeezed my eyes shut. Great. Amazing. Exactly what I needed today.
The social worker tried again. "I really can’t leave until..."
"You can leave," Park Hana said, using the tone rich people use when they decide rules don’t apply to them.
And somehow, somehow this woman convinced the worker. With a few sharp words and a look of confidence, the worker backed out of the room.
Coward. But Thank God, I almost had my baby taken
As soon as she left, Park Hana turned back to us, satisfied.
"I’ll make sure Rin is fine before discharge," she said. "I won’t interfere. Whichever of my sons is more worthy will get the child."
My heart sank straight into the floor.
"Worthy?" I whispered. "He’s not a trophy."
"Don’t be sensitive," she said. "You’re lucky he exists at all considering how reckless you are."
I felt slapped. Park Min’s head snapped toward her. Woo Min’s expression darkened in a quiet, dangerous way.
She looked me up and down and said, "For an omega from that community, you spread your legs pretty easily."
The air cracked.
Park Min stepped forward. "Don’t call him that."
Woo Min spoke at the same time. "Say that again and see what happens."
her expression faltered. Only a little, but I saw it.
I held Rin closer, my heart pounding painfully. My entire body felt cold. I wanted to hide.
Then Park Min turned to me.
"I’m suing," he said.
My stomach dropped. "What?"
"I’m suing for custody. Full custody."
"You’re not serious," Woo Min said, stepping in front of me instinctively.
Park Min didn’t look at him. He looked at me.
"You can’t..." My throat closed.
"I can," he said quietly. "And I will."
My breath stuttered. My arms tightened around Rin until my muscles hurt. Losing him wasn’t an option. Not even something I could imagine.
"I don’t want to fight," I whispered. "Please. I don’t want to lose him."
Park Min exhaled, long and slow. "Then co-parent."
The room blurred for a moment. My chest felt crushed.
Co-parent.
With the man who raped me. Twice. Who terrifies me. Who looks at me like he owns me. Who hates his own mother. Who’s fighting his brother over me.
I felt sick.
But losing Rin would be worse.
Much worse.
"Fine," I said, my voice barely there. "We... we can co-parent."
Behind me, I heard something break, not physically, just... emotionally. A sound that wasn’t a sound.
Woo Min.
I didn’t have to look at him to know. His silence was too sharp.
Park Hana smiled, satisfied. "Wonderful. That settles everything."
No. Nothing was settled.
Park Min let out a breath, relieved in his own twisted way. Woo Min took one step back, then another, like he needed space before he exploded.
I didn’t reach for him.
I couldn’t.
I just held my baby tighter and tried not to crumble.
