CHAPTER 58: THE PRESIDENT’S HAND

Chapter 58: The President’s Hand

Everything was quiet at this hour...

Every clock seemed to hold its breath as Elias was standing beside the long glass window and watched the night stretch far over the capital.

He was a man who loved peace even if he was the one to keep causing chaos to ordinary people.

When he became the president, he thought he could change this place, but seeing how nobody cared or bothered to change-he also stopped giving a damn.

All he needed was money and power, so he changed the law that no president could be change of Germanya until his death...and better no woman be in power because according to him, they were too emotional to lead.

But little did Elias understand...his own leading was based on an emotional outburst...when something bad happened to his family-he would order the one who caused it pain and suffering....

Jackson was his last victim...but he did not like Jackson, and the fact that he was out there, attacking and provoking his precious angel.

And the bullet...Elias was so caught in his own delusions and plans that he forgot to even search for the one who shot him and almost killed him.

Elias saw how the whole country was celebrating his death and he could not forgive so easily. Oh no...the president was ready to kill and put in jail every single person who decided to cheer for his death.

His phone vibrated silently in his hand.

And he saw a message from Felix...

"Danielle is unwell. She is unstable. It is best if you come for her soon."

A small smile curved onto Elias’s face. Felix was predictable, but useful. Elias typed nothing back. He simply stared through the glass and allowed himself a moment of memory.

"She is just like her mother," he whispered to the silent room.

He remembered the first time he saw Helena. She had marched into his life like a fire no one could control. Helena was stubborn like Danielle and fell in love too easily for her own good. Elias once found that charming. Dangerous... but charming.

And when Danielle was born, she was a bright little star who saw wonder in every corner of life. She would hold his finger tightly when he carried her. She laughed easily, and the worst- Danielle loved easily too.

She trusted just as easily.

That was her greatest flaw... and her greatest strength.

The doors opened and two guards entered, dragging a man between them. Theo’s head hung low, blood dripped down his face. His clothes were torn and his steps were trembling.

Elias did not take his eyes off him.

"Sit," Elias ordered.

Theo collapsed into the chair placed before him. The guards stepped back but stayed close in case the wounded wolf decided to bite.

Elias walked over and carefully looked at him. One bruise at a time... One cut at a time.

"You are far too familiar with pain," Elias stated calmly. "Tell me, Theodor... how long has your father been planning your death?"

Theo swallowed the blood in his mouth before speaking. "As soon as the business could stand without me. As soon as I stopped being useful."

Elias nodded slowly. "The electronics empire must stay sharp. Corruption inside weakens everything. Zack’s greed is becoming a problem."

Theo’s eyes slowly lifted. He looked at Elias with the stare of someone who already knew evil too well.

"You think I will be loyal to them?" Theo asked quietly.

Elias smiled. "I think loyalty is a lie powerful men tell to those beneath them."

Theo did not argue.

Elias took one step closer. "Tell me, Theodor. Are you planning to leave the family? Like Frank once attempted?"

Theo’s jaw tightened. "I have no family. Especially after today."

A dark satisfaction flickered through Elias. Zack had trained a perfect weapon, only to turn that weapon against himself.

"You have my daughter at your side," Elias continued. "She looks at you like you are her shield against the world."

Theo remained silent without letting any words escape his mouth, and he was just tired...he had a long night of murdering his brother.

Elias’s eyes sharpened. "Does she know what you are? Does she know who built you to kill?"

Theo said nothing again...

"So she does have feelings for you," Elias concluded slowly. "You know that, do you not?"

Theo finally spoke. "No. She does not."

It was a lie and Elias could smell it. Danielle was transparent and Theo was not. But that gap between them was exactly what Elias needed.

"If I remove you from her side," Elias stated calmly, "she will hate me again. And I have lost that right once before. I cannot lose it again."

Theo stared at the floor. He did not respond. His silence gave more answers than any confession could.

"That brings us to the question of purpose," Elias continued. "You are wounded. You are angry. You feel abandoned."

Elias leaned down close enough to smell the metallic blood on Theo’s breath.

"You are perfect."

Theo’s eyes snapped up, and they were so cold and sharp like glass that refused to crack.

Elias straightened and his voice became colder.

"You will finish what you began. You will hunt him. You will tear down the man who thinks he owns you."

Theo watched him and furrowed his eyebrows as Elias spoke the name he carried like poison.

"You will kill Zack."

The room became too pressing... Even the guards were waiting for the right to breathe.

Theo breathed quietly through the pain.

Elias studied him with the strict gaze of a king placing his final piece on the board.

"When the time comes, when the opportunity rises, you will end him. You will not change your mind, and you will not hesitate. You will not seek approval."

He paused... then asked the last question.

"Can you do that?"

Theo lifted his head fully now. He looked like hate survived through him. He looked like death waiting to be unleashed.

His voice was terrifyingly chilly.

"Yes."
