Hector threat, that Jimmy would start cutting throats if she didn't speak… didn't really understand because she was still vomiting, she was still out of her little world as she realized that they truly had fucked up with all of this and now the butcher came to them to collect the debt of them… which is their life.

Second, she knew too very well, as everybody, that even if she spoke they were going to kill all of them, so talking anything about their plan and business would mean nothing, just death… but that's what Hector was genius about.

He didn't threaten her directly, but at the same time he did. He planted that seed in her mind, the idea that if she didn't speak, her little friends who were ready to attack the family one by one, would die in the most brutal way possible, and she would have to watch all of it.

She would see the blade cutting their throat and with it the blood gushing out, she would see their bodies falling into their own blood, and worst of all, she would feel the guilt about it, because it was clear to Hector, to Ramirez, to everybody in the room that she was one of the very clever persons who planned all of it.

And what made it even worse was Hector's attitude and demeanor.

He didn't raise his voice, he didn't move closer, he didn't even look angry, nor Ramirez.

His calm tone, that fucking smile on his face, made everything much worse and put her into the position of being the one who decides everybody's life in the warehouse. Hector wanted her to imagine it, to picture every horrible moment and she did.

She pictured their faces, their screams, their blood, and their families waiting for them home… where they will never go home, or maybe they will too would end in the dirt chopped up for the sins their loved ones committed.

Yeah, Hector didn't need to threaten her.

He just made her believe the nightmare was already waiting behind the door, ready to step in the moment she chose silence.

"So do you want to talk or should we start—"

"T-talk." She interrupted him as she looked up still with those eyes of a demon, of somebody who knew she lost everything and the only thing waiting for her is death… not a simple one but one where they want her to speak, to betray those who she believed in, to betray herself too, but she knew she needed to talk.

"Good." Hector said as he clapped his hands together. "Then can you tell me what the fuck is this, because I do not understand it. I wanted to believe it, that a war is upon us started by our own but looking at y'all is everything but a war… it is something laughable."

Hector was right, at least he was right with his own belief. He almost got killed by the cartel and then all of it came back to the family, to Xavier, and from him it looked like there are rats in the family that are powerful and ready to truly shake up everything… but it all collapsed the moment they talked with Xavier.

This whole master plan and initial war just lost its meaning with him, because he folded the moment he saw Hector and Ramirez and moreover realized what was going to happen to him and just talked it out, snitched everybody.

And there is no fun in that, there is no fun hunting them where they don't even can run, can't even stand up for themselves… it is just a hunt that has already been over with only one thing that needs to be answered.

What is this? What did they want to accomplish with it? What was their plan?

And the key to it was her.

"H-ope…" She said as she still held eye contact with Hector.

"Hope?" Now Ramirez asked back. "What hope?"

Silence. For a minute or so she didn't say anything, just closed her eyes knowing that is the moment to maybe somehow influence them… or just to tell the real truth she feels.

"In the beginning… it was hope… we all came because of it, that was James' goal… he gave us hope." She continued "He gives us hope, gives us work and a life to live without worrying about anything…" Her smile died as she looked into Hector's eyes. "... and we believed in it like sheeps."

"What?" Hector asked as he was confused, like he didn't understand what she meant by it… because it was true James indeed gave hope to everybody who joined the family, he granted them everything they needed to live a good life and still does.

He could find the connection.

We all believed him… we knew what the job was, we all knew it was a mafia that supplies the country with drugs, that has its hand in everything… but… "She looked up at Hector."...we noticed something."

"What would that be?" Ramirez asked again as to him this all looked like bullshit, like if she is just lying, making bullshit up.

"That he's losing his mind… that innocent people like us, people who were supposed to give hope, are dying because of him… that he's turned into exactly what every other family becomes a family obsessed with money, obsessed with profit, obsessed with keeping power… instead of giving hope, instead of being what it was meant to be. And you two know it as well." She let out a small laugh, shaking her head."You, Hector… the one closest to him. You've noticed it, haven't you?" She looked deeper into his eyes. "That he's changed, no, he's become unstable, become insane. He went from being a man who calculated every move, a man who stood for the people… to someone who turned against everything he originally fought for."

"How many innocent people have died?" Another man joined in. "The massacres in the city, the shooting at the restaurant, the numbers… does he know about it? Does he know that twenty three innocents were killed and four children? Does he know that you personally ordered families to be wiped out to protect him? Hector, your men killed children and women, innocents who had no business in anything… you lied to him."

"This whole family for hope… is a joke." The woman joined in again, shaking her head. "We thought we knew what it came with… but with Rafael's death, James stepped over the line of what is acceptable… he turned into something that is not for the people a long time ago."

They say when belief breaks, a man changes, not suddenly but piece by piece, and as the weight of disappointment settles on his shoulders he discovers that the person he becomes afterward is nothing like the one he spent time pretending to be.

But what if… that person doesn't care about it? Doesn't care about what he has become, but does only one thing… he adapts to it?

James Bellini, the Don of the Bellini family, lost himself a long time ago, and what he became from the broken pieces can be described with one word…

Greatness, with all of its darkness.

He saved more than he ever killed for the family, he did more for the people than the government… he actually forced the government to take steps for their own citizens, and one thing is certain.

Nobody is going to decide what is right or what is wrong for a man who holds a country in his palms.

"Ohh… that was cute." Hector said, a curled smile forming on his face. "... but I didn't come here to listen to your emotional struggles… Jimmy, do it."
