Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten
Chapter 330: Four Girls Meet the Parents
The car moved steadily along the road.
All four girls were uncharacteristically quiet—after all, meeting Uncle and Auntie under these circumstances would make anyone nervous.
And it wasn’t just the original trio anymore—it was now four of them.
Little He Qing reached into her pocket and pulled out a pack of candy. She gave some to Han Wenwen and Lili first.
Then she cautiously called out to the front seat: “Miss Jiang—no, Sister Jiang.”
Jiang Jingshi turned and smiled: “What’s up?”
He Qing extended her hand, offering the candy. “Want some? I bought them this morning.”
Jiang Jingshi usually didn’t eat candy, but still reached out to accept one. “Thanks, He Qing.”
“You’re welcome.”
Han Wenwen linked arms with Little Qingqing and greeted her proactively. The Little Fox had the most jealousy among them.
But no amount of sky-high jealousy could beat Brother Zhengran’s flirty heart. Since fate had decided they’d be together, she was happy to take the initiative to build a bond.
“Sister Jiang, you’re really so beautiful. Zhengran has mentioned you quite a few times before, so I looked you up. But honestly, seeing you in person after school started still blew me away.”
Jiang Jingshi popped the candy into her mouth:
“I feel the same way about you, Wenwen. The first time I saw you, I was shocked too—you’re so pretty and full of personality. And He Qing as well. When I first met you, you were so cute it didn’t feel real.”
“Thank you, Sister Jiang,” both replied.
Jiang Jingshi then looked at Jiang Xueli, who was quietly gazing out the window. “As for Lili, well, it’s not our first time meeting. I remember telling you a few years ago that you were beautiful.”
Jiang Xueli gave an awkward smile and cleared her throat. “Thanks… So Zhengran said you’ll be moving in with us soon, Sister Jiang?”
Jiang Jingshi blushed and nodded:
“Yes. Since we’re all his girlfriends now, we’ll have to get used to each other eventually. Once Zhengran’s day-student paperwork goes through, I’ll move in too.
Also, you guys don’t have to call me ‘Sister’ if it feels weird. I’m only a few years older. In private, we’re equals—you can just call me Jingshi.”
Little He Qing blinked innocently: “But I think calling you Sister Jiang feels nice—it rolls off the tongue.”
Han Wenwen agreed. “Me too.”
Jiang Xueli smiled. “We’ll leave ‘Jingshi’ for Zhengran to call.” She scratched her cheek.
Jiang Jingshi nodded gently. “Sure, call me whatever you like. We’re all sisters.”
The three silently marveled at how warm and gentle she was—even her voice was soft and sweet.
Han Wenwen raised her hand suddenly, a puzzled look on her face:
“Sister Jiang, I have a question. You really do seem like a nice person… so why is it that whenever I see you with Jiang Qian, it feels like there’s tension between you two?”
Jiang Jingshi thought for a moment, her peach blossom eyes blinking twice:
“Well, it might be hard to understand since you’re all only children, but for siblings who grow up together, there’s bound to be all sorts of conflict—especially during the rebellious years.
But the biggest reason is…”
She smiled awkwardly, a shadow flashing across her face:
“Qianqian is my younger sister, and she likes Zhengran. She has a crush on her brother-in-law. Just that alone makes it hard for us to be nice to each other lately.”
Especially that time… when she kissed Zhengran right in front of Mom and Dad. That brat!
The three girls let out a collective “Ah.”
Yeah… they could definitely sense the tension between those two.
Jiang Jingshi let out a long breath:
“Of course, even if there’s hostility, it’s really just on the surface. These past few days, I’ve felt less bothered—because of Zhengran…” she blushed:
“I belong completely to him now. No matter what Qianqian thinks, there’s no chance of her winning. Not anymore.”
The Three Little Ones all turned to look at Lin Zhengran, who was driving.
Their eyes were strange and unified.
That sudden overnight disappearance had surprised them.
Jiang Jingshi, now feeling both affectionate and jealous, asked curiously:
“By the way, just a personal question… Have you three… already slept with Zhengran?”
All three girls turned crimson, their faces as red as could be.
Yep—questions from someone a few years older definitely hit differently.
Jiang Xueli looked out the window, huffing like a tsundere:
“That flirty Zhengran—do you think he wouldn’t make a move on us? But… it’s not like it’s happened that often.”
Jiang Jingshi gave Lin Zhengran a long look filled with jealousy:
“Knew it. Zhengran really is greedy when it comes to this. No way he’d just look without touching.”
Lin Zhengran drove on, speechless:
“You make it sound like I’m in the wrong. Isn’t it normal for a guy to be intimate with his own girlfriend? Or what, should I suddenly become abstinent for a whole month and not touch any of you?”
All four girls instinctively shouted “No!” at once.
What would they do if he didn’t touch them?
But then Lin Zhengran added with a smirk:
“Kidding. But let’s be real—once you start this kind of thing, it’s kind of addictive.”
All four girls blushed with shame, quickly pulling back whatever they were about to say and falling into an awkward silence.
Addictive was putting it lightly. In truth, each of them had already spent countless private moments with the driver beside them.
It was only natural—once you’d tasted the fruit.
Not long after, Little He Qing asked:
“By the way, we’ve been chatting this whole time but haven’t brought up the serious stuff. Uncle and Auntie—they’re not going to get mad at Zhengran over this, are they? We’re fine either way, but I’m just afraid he’ll get scolded.”
No one answered. It was hard to guess. They all looked worried.
But Lin Zhengran spoke confidently:
“Don’t worry. My mom will definitely ask for all the details. And worst-case scenario—even if she is angry, I made up my mind the moment I decided to date you girls. I’ll take responsibility for all of you, for life. No matter what happens, I’ll always be with you. So don’t be afraid.”
That reassurance gave them peace of mind. As long as their anchor held strong, they had nothing to fear.
----------------------------------------
After a long journey—
They finally made it back to the small town from university.
Lin Zhengran parked outside the residential complex.
“We’re home.”
He led four extremely nervous girls toward his house.
Each of them had their own thoughts racing through their minds.
After all, no matter how you looked at it, dating four girlfriends was a pretty outrageous thing in the eyes of most parents.
But they were prepared.
The five stood outside the door as Lin Zhengran knocked. “Dad, Mom, it’s me—I’m back.”
Inside the house, Lin Xiaoli and Lin Yingjun had been chatting on the sofa. Upon hearing the knock, they stood up and went to open the door.
As soon as the door swung open—
Lin Xiaoli saw her son standing there with four girls behind him.
Each one gave a slight, polite nod and greeted in unison:
“Hello, Uncle and Auntie!”
Lin Xiaoli and Lin Yingjun exchanged a worried glance.
Then they looked at their son.
Lin Zhengran, however, looked perfectly at ease—completely unfazed by what was about to happen.
----------------------------------------
Soon after, in the living room, He Qing, Han Wenwen, Jiang Xueli, and Jiang Jingshi were seated together on the sofa.
Though their expressions were awkward, each of them looked resolute.
Lin Xiaoli handed each girl a glass of water. In unison, they said:
“Thank you, Auntie.”
Lin Xiaoli chuckled.
“You’re welcome.”
Then she sat on the couch too.
Lin Zhengran casually munched on some cherry tomatoes from the table and passed one to each of the four girls.
Each of them accepted it.
Lin Yingjun and Lin Xiaoli both wore awkward expressions.
Lin Xiaoli sighed. “Zhengran, you’re really something. As calm as ever—even with something this huge going on.”
Lin Zhengran looked at his mom and dad—then popped another cherry tomato into his mouth.
