Priceless Slave (BL)
Chapter 155: His Queen and His Lover
CHAPTER 155: HIS QUEEN AND HIS LOVER
Alvaro opened the door to the room and found Kai lying on the bed with his back to the door. He immediately walked closer.
"Kai," he called cautiously. He was sure the young man was asleep.
But Kai was not asleep. The young man immediately turned his head, surprised to find Alvaro there.
"M-Master..." He tried to get up but grimaced in pain. Still, he forced himself.
Alvaro approached, looking at Kai’s condition from head to toe. The young man looked battered. He bent down, looked closely, then held Kai’s cheek, where the marks of a blow were clearly visible. His cheek was bruised and swollen.
"What happened?" Alvaro asked calmly. He had heard that Kai had been punished, but what mistake had he made to deserve such punishment?
Kai looked down. He remembered Amelia’s words. He just shook his head. "It’s okay, Master. How is Master Sylas? Does he want to see me? I’m sorry, I can’t see him."
Alvaro stood up straight. "He’s worried about you, that’s why he asked me to come and get you. What happened? Were you punished?"
Kai looked at Alvaro, then looked down. "I made a mistake today."
Alvaro now held his jaw. "What punishment did they give you? What did you do?" he asked.
Kai closed his eyes, feeling the painful grip of Alvaro’s hand. He swallowed before showing the bandage on his hand. "I forgot to bring my book and made a mistake on today’s assignment."
Alvaro released his grip on the young man’s jaw and held Kai’s hand. "Then what happened to your face?"
Kai was silent. "I’m fine."
Alvaro frowned. He was impatient, but he chose to take Kai out for now. Let Sylas question him later.
"Can you walk?" Alvaro asked.
Kai looked confused. He whimpered in pain but nodded. He was surprised when the knight suddenly knelt on the floor.
"Climb onto my back. His Majesty wants to see you. I’ll take you to him," said Alvaro.
Kai was silent for a moment, wanting to refuse and walk by himself, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to walk any longer. Finally, he accepted Alvaro’s offer and climbed onto the man’s back.
"Sorry, am I heavy?" Kai asked uneasily.
Alvaro easily stood up with the weight on his back. "You’re heavier than before, but still as light as cotton."
Kai remained silent. He wrapped his arms around Alvaro’s chest to make it easier for the knight to carry him out. Several pairs of eyes stared at them as they passed through the corridor and out of the dormitory. Whispers could be heard. It was clear that everyone was curious about how Kai knew the royal family’s knight. Was it true that the young man was the king’s lover, as rumored?
Alvaro walked quickly toward his horse and took Kai to Sylas’s room as fast as possible. He was sure Sylas would be shocked to see Kai’s condition.
And sure enough, when they arrived at Sylas’s room, Kai was greeted with Sylas’s worried and anxious gaze. Kai’s condition and injuries were clearly visible.
"What happened?" Sylas asked, almost shouting in surprise, holding Kai’s face as soon as the young man got off Alvaro’s back.
Kai looked down, wanting to cover his wounds.
"Kai? You were punished like this?" Sylas asked, pulling Kai’s hand to the sofa.
Kai took a deep breath and explained the two punishments he had received that day, but he said nothing else. Of course, Sylas was suspicious.
Sylas examined Kai’s bandaged hands. He didn’t like what he saw.
"Then what happened to your face?" Sylas asked.
Kai took a deep breath. He remembered Amelia’s words, but he didn’t want to lie either.
"Kai, tell me. You know you can’t hide anything from me. Tell me everything. What happened? Did someone hit you?"
Kai looked down, then looked at Sylas, who looked worried and angry. "Master... If I tell you, you might cause trouble for everyone."
Sylas frowned. "Why? What does it have to do with it? Tell me!" he urged.
Kai swallowed again. It seemed like he was going to get in trouble at the dormitory, but he had promised not to lie to Sylas. He looked down.
"Someone hit me. I don’t know what I did wrong, but he hit me repeatedly," said Kai fearfully.
Sylas immediately lifted his chin. Kai could see the flash of anger in the man’s eyes. It worried him.
"Hit you? Is he crazy? Who is he?" Sylas’s voice trembled.
"Um... That... Are you going to leave me, Master?" Amelia said that if she told Sylas, he might lose him.
"What? Why would you lose me? Tell me, who is he? Who dared to hit you?"
Kai felt his chest pounding. After swallowing several times, he mentioned Clark’s name. "He told me his father is the head of security in the capital. Please, forget this, Master..." He didn’t want Sylas to get into trouble because of him.
Sylas released his grip on Kai. He looked at Alvaro. "Is there a son of Dionar Barn in the dormitory?" he asked.
"Do you want me to find out?"
Sylas shook his head. "No need. Please call a doctor here."
Alvaro nodded and immediately left.
Sylas clenched his fists as the doctor opened Kai’s clothes. The young man’s stomach and chest were bruised and blue. How dare they touch Kai like that? What were they thinking?
At that moment, Alvaro looked panicked. He looked at Sylas. "Your Majesty, Princess Eresia is coming. She doesn’t want to leave."
Sylas took a breath. He was sitting on the sofa with Kai’s head in his lap, his hands holding the young man’s hands as the doctor rubbed some liquid medicine on Kai’s wounds. If Eresia saw him in this position, she would certainly not be happy.
"Tell her I’ll see her in a moment," said Sylas.
Alvaro immediately left, but he came back in, this time with Eresia behind him, smiling broadly.
But the next second, that sweet smile faded when she saw Sylas and Kai in the room. She frowned.
"Your Majesty, you refused to see me so you could be with him?" she protested, walking quickly toward them.
Kai grimaced in pain, but seeing the girl coming with an angry face, he hurriedly tried to get up. But Sylas held his body down to keep him lying down and asked the doctor to continue.
"Princess, I already said I would see you," said Sylas, looking annoyed.
"You chose him and sent me away? Your Majesty..."
"Princess, get out of my room now. Please," Sylas cut her off before she could finish her sentence.
Eresia clenched her fists, looking at Kai who seemed so comfortable. She didn’t care about the doctor there. She didn’t care why Kai was there. All she knew was that Sylas and Kai were being affectionate at her expense.
"How cruel of you to do this to me, Your Majesty! For an ugly slave like him? What makes you so crazy about him?"
"Princess, please. Before I ask the guards to drag you out." Sylas restrained himself, even though his ears burned hearing Eresia insult Kai.
Eresia didn’t move, which annoyed Sylas. The doctor finally finished treating Kai and gave him medicine to take. After that, he immediately left, not wanting to get involved in the young king’s private matters.
Eresia stood with an angry expression.
Sylas also looked annoyed, which he rarely showed. Alvaro looked uncomfortable.
Kai tried to get up, looking like he had to return to the dormitory.
"M-Master... I’m going back to the dormitory," said Kai, sitting up and tidying his clothes.
Sylas stopped Kai’s hand. He carefully fixed the young man’s clothes. "No, sleep here. I won’t let you go back to the dormitory."
After everything that had happened, how could he let Kai go back there? He cupped Kai’s face and kissed him softly on the lips. "I’m sorry you had to go through this."
Sylas seemed to forget about Eresia, who was now blushing and holding back her anger. The girl looked like she was about to have a stroke, seeing Sylas lift Kai onto his bed.
"Your Majesty, are you serious?" exclaimed Eresia, her mouth open in disbelief. Sylas did that right in front of her.
Sylas carefully laid Kai on the bed and covered him with a blanket. "I’ll be out for a while. Go to sleep," said Sylas softly.
Eresia felt something tighten in her chest. This was the first time she had seen Sylas and Kai alone together. And the way the man treated Kai was completely unexpected. To her, Sylas had always been polite. But he had never shown such tenderness to her.
She was jealous.
Sylas gave Kai a small, reassuring smile before walking back to the center of the room. He then looked at Eresia.
"Can we leave now?" he asked coldly.
Very cold, like a sword piercing Eresia’s chest.
Eresia looked at Kai with hatred in her eyes. She felt her hatred growing stronger now.
