CHAPTER 57: NUMBERED 0 (3)

Rollins movement came to a halt, his mouth widened in shock. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

"Caden Ryder?" He repeated "Are you really the trending star Caden Ryder?" He asked.

This reaction was quite understandable. It’s safe to say Caden Ryder is the most popular under twenty successor in the Purple Continent.

All his feats were extremely impressive.

There was not a single soul that didn’t know him. Rollins wasn’t an exception, he couldn’t just believe he is standing beside the trending star.

He had heard rumors of Caden Ryder joining the Valor Royal Academy but he didn’t expect Caden to be number 0

Number 0 is considered the strongest in the entirety of the year. If the first year students enter second year.

They’ll be a battle to decide the next Number 0.

It was a prominent position to be in.

He saw Caden as the first freshman to enter the special dormitory. He expected Caden to be atleast Number 15 or so.

He was shocked when Caden revealed he is the current Number 0 of the first year students.

And the fact that he’s the trending star made it even more shocking.

Caden nodded "Well it shouldn’t be that hard to accept right?" Caden asked. Rollins gulped, swallowing his saliva "I never expected to meet someone as viral as you so soon"

"Should I treat you with respect or?" Caden chuckled at the question, "Why would you treat me with respect?" He asked.

He paused for a second, recalling something "Oh wait, you really should treat me with respect" He giggled.

"Even if you’re a third year student. I’m Number 0 and you’re Number 3, so atleast there should be respect for a year representative right?" Caden’s smile broadened.

Rollins nodded, he cleared his throat "Sure, sorry about my reaction. I was simply too suprised"

"And besides....have you found your room?" He asked. Caden shook his head "Not yet, I’m just entering the special dormitory"

"Won’t I be given a room?" He curiously asked.

Rollins nodded "That appears to be the case, but that’s if you don’t have any room to be precise"

"You can only choose an empty dorm room to use. Since you came on time, why don’t I show you a few empty rooms"

Rollins led the way, they were seen even more students, both second year and third year students.

Many knew Rollins as they smiled and waved at him, a few greeted him while ignoring Caden.

They knew Caden is a freshman. That’s because they’ve never seen him before, but if they knew he’s the current first year Number 0.

They would have paid him more respect.

Shortly after, they arrived at one of the empty dorm rooms. This room is opposite Rollins dorm room.

Since it isn’t occupied at the moment. The door was opened for anyone and they walked in.

Caden was amazed by the interior of the room. It had a single bed prepared for a single student.

There was a wooden wardrobe placed by the wall, a large bookshelf, and many more that was there.

Including new clothes which were magically designed to fit his size no matter what.

Students were ordered to come empty-handed. They were not allowed to bring any bags or clothes.

Everything will be prepared by the royal academy.

Caden observed the room for a few minutes before he spoke "Didn’t you say this room is close to yours?" Caden asked.

Rollins nodded with his arms folded "That’s correct" He smiled, "My room is by your right, if you need anything for me, just hit me up"

"I know this school too well" He bragged, winking at Caden who laughed heartily.

"Well you’re the third year Number 3, I’m certain you know alot. So if I may ask, can I get to know all the authorities of this academy"

"And the second year and the third year representatives as well, is that possible?" Caden asked.

Rollins sighed "Sure, that ain’t too much to ask. It’s understandable to know all of this things because you’re the current Number 0 of the first year students"

"But I have a few questions to ask, Caden Ryder" Rollins eyes narrowed, he has been observing the numbered test lately.

Caden shrugged "I know what you want to ask, but I’ll allow you to ask" He said.

Hearing that, Rollins smiled "I should tell you a few things, I’m Number 3 because I’m quite strong"

"And I have a vast information network. I make my money in this academy by buying and selling informations to anyone who needs them"

"Including the Numbered test, I heard everything that happened during the second stage of the numbered test"

"An ambush was laid against you, that’s understandable. It would have been good if you had knocked them out"

"Broke a few bones and make them fear you. Strike deep fear in their hearts so they won’t cross you"

"But you killed them, seventy-two students Caden. Why did you kill that many students?" Rollins questioned.

"Wasn’t there a chance to spare them?" Caden could feel the bitterness in Rollins’ voice.

Caden shook his head "If I had outrightly killed them without a reason, do you think I would still be here?" Caden asked.

He continued "Do you think that the head chancellor Darius Kincaid would have let me off?"

"You must have known that I awakened an S-Ranked Innate Skill, those that awakened a special skill has the ability to sense when other S-Ranked Skills are in use"

"Those students fell prey to a certain terrifying S-Ranked Skill known as the Blood Puppeteer"

"A domination skill that controls living beings as puppets, increasing their strength by drawing out their lifespan"

"During this process, this victims will be in so much pain, unending pain so I had to take matters into my hands"

"I needed to become the judge and the executioner" Caden closed his eyes, "Once a blood puppet has been created, it can never be reversed"

"Even If the Blood Puppeteer is killed. The blood puppet would still exist until it’s final breath"

"And during this process....it would suffer endlessly, I had to kill them....."

"They needed to die so they won’t feel that pain anymore"

"It was my fault they were cursed to be a blood puppet. I was the target, this was another assasination attempt aimed at me"

"I felt it was my responsibility to end their suffering’’
