CHAPTER 60: QI LUST (2)

"Wake up sleepyhead"

That calm voice resonated in his mind as he jolted awake. Caden sat on the bed with his eyes widened in shock.

"What happened?" He slightly tilted his head to see himself sitted on a bed, he recognized this room.

This is his dorm room. His eyes scanned through the room until it fell on a certain individual.

Frey Blade rested his back on a wall, his arms folded. The second he locked eyes with Caden Ryder.

His white teeths were shone, he winked at Caden. Seeing this, Caden scoffed, quickly staring at another direction.

"Why are you out here?" He asked. Frey giggled "Shouldn’t you be thanking me for taking care of you?" Frey asked.

"Taking care of me?" Caden asked. Frey nodded "That’s correct, you used my S-Ranked Skill: Shadow Cloak to return back to the dorm room"

"But you were still overwhelmed with your Qi lust, you only was able to satisfy that lust a bit"

"I had to force myself and help you, by knocking you out and forcing you to sleep"

"To let the Qi you’ve absorbed take it’s effects on your body, you may be a lizard but you need rest" Frey explained.

Caden shrugged "I told you already, I’m not a lizard, I’m a Dragonman" Caden glared at Frey.

"What is the difference?" Frey asked. "You still give the same energy as those scaled lizards back then"

"You’re just an evolved lizard" Frey chuckled at his words, instead of getting triggered.

Caden took a deep breath "I don’t care what you say, I remember everything.....I killed those guys"

"I was too hungry.... tasting Qi made me want more, it made me kill those innocent people to satisfy myself"

"I’m a killer" Caden stared down in shame, Frey exhaled softly "Everyone is a killer, those variant humans you killed had lives"

"Did you not consider yourself a killer when you killed them?" Frey asked, Caden stayed silent.

Seeing this, Frey continued "The dead is dead and you should be thanking your stars you weren’t caught"

"You won’t use the excuse of blood puppets, it would be clear you killed those people" Frey paused for a second "This is why we need to do something about your Qi lust"

Caden’s eyebrows curled up "My Qi lust?" He asked.

Frey nodded "Yes, you see....only a few experts in this world knows Qi and understands it"

"But the human body has its limits when it comes to absorbing and maintaining Qi in the body"

"But there’s a race with limitless body, capable of absorbing every single Qi in the world"

"I’m talking about the scaled lizards, those dragons were something known as the endless back then"

"They were not like you, they had no humanoid forms, they had four legs and large wings"

"Having different colors and those guys do not stop growing, there was one back then who grew so large than it’s wings covered two continents"

"It was something known as a Dragon General or a Dragon Emperor if I stand corrected"

"Something beyond a Dragon Lord and my father, the Dark Emperor Supreme Conqueror wanted to kill that monster"

"No matter how strong the Conqueror not. He could not kill the mighty dragon and it they were considered equals"

"It was the first time that a Conqueror, ruler of his legendary era had something that was equal to his power"

Frey sighed "I don’t know what happened to that dragon or if it’s even still alive till this day"

"What I’m trying to say is dragons have endless physique capable of absorbing Infinite Qi"

"Since you’re like those lizards, it should also mean you have somewhat an endless physique"

"But the fact that you have an humaniod form means at this point, there should still be a limit"

"The limit is just too far compared to ordinary humans" Frey stared at Caden, his lips curled faintly "Listen to me, master Caden"

"If you do not control this Qi lust, you may end up killing every single living being in this academy"

"The more Qi you absorb, the stronger you grow in terms of physical prowess and the more difficult it is to resist you" Frey warned.

Caden softly exhaled "Then how the hell am I supposed to control it?" Caden asked.

Frey’s eyes gleamed "I’ll teach you, you see...I’m quite the expert when it comes to Qi"

"Even though my father created the shadow path skills, we of the Blade Clan knew too well about Qi"

"I’ll be your teacher, while I train you....you must learn to control the lust on your own" Frey said..

Just then a knock was heard.

"Hey Caden, Caden.....are you still sleeping?" The voice of Rollins was heard, Caden softly smiled.

"Sure I am, come in" He spoke and the door creaked open, Rollins walked into the dorm room.

He glanced around, he could only see Caden present in the room.

But why was that? It’s because Frey had already snucked back into Caden’s shadow.

Rollins exhaled a soft sigh of relieve "Thank goodness you’re fine" He spoke, slowly approaching Caden "You have been sleeping for two days now"

"Eh?" Caden’s eyes widened in shock "Two days?" He nearly screamed out, he controlled himself.

Rollins nodded "There was an assembly meant to introduce the prefects to the freshmen and for the second years and third years to see the current first year’s Number 0"

"I tried to contact you but you were busy sleeping your ass out and everything was postponed" Rollins explained.

"Even Darius was getting worried that you may have been assasinated by that Red assasin who killed those two soldiers and that female staff" Hearing this drew Caden’s attention.

"Two soldiers and a female staff?" Caden asked, Rollins nodded "I’m sure you don’t know since you were sleeping since"

"But the bodies of two soldiers and a female staff was found hidden in a dark corner and Darius had confirmed it to be work of assasins"

"That Red assasin who tried to kill you, Head Chancellor Darius is quite infuriated I must say"

"He’s been angry since the second assasination attempt and now that assasin is mocking him by killing those two soldiers and that female staff" Rollins explained.

Caden felt relieve that he wasn’t exposed but he still felt guilty for killing those who weren’t even involved in his life.

Caden breathed in deeply "Very soon, the reign of the Reds will be over" He mumbled.

Meanwhile, standing on a rooftop was a man draped in black robe. His face hidden under a mask.

His robe bellowed in the wind, with his hands behind his back. Seconds later, three figures appeared behind him.

Two were male and the one who stayed at the center was a female. They all fell on their knees.

With their heads bowing before him.

"We greet the Lord 5th Reaper" Their voices echoed in unison, none dared to even lift their head.

The mysterious figure nodded with a sigh "Even though I’m quite antisocial, I do listen to rumors"

"Why am I accused of something I never did?" He slightly tilted his gaze, his eyes fixed on the three figures.

"We...we...we do not know, all we know is that three bodies were found, two belonging to soldiers and one recognized to be female staff member"

"They all died in the same pattern, dried flesh, paled skin and hollow eyes, one thing was clear"

"Their Qi were all drained. Not even leaving a bit of their lifespan" One of the three figures explained.

"Qi huh?" The masked figure softly exhaled "I guess I understand why I’m falsely accused even though I didn’t kill those guys"

"the clear reason was because of my S-Ranked Skill: Blood Puppeteer"

"But I don’t mind being accused of such, it’s something I can do after all" He shrugged, "But do you know who is responsible for that?" He asked.

The three figures shook their heads "We cannot even suspect ourselves because aside you, we do not know the arts required to initiate a Qi Drain"

The masked figure nodded "Sure sure, I know that already"

"Keep watching, if you learn anything.... don’t hesitate to tell me everything" He commanded.

He tilted his gaze back, facing the sky.

"I’m just bidding my time, if I wanted to assasinate Caden Ryder. I would have done it already"

"But I’m also trying to kill two birds with one stone" He paused for a second "You see, even Darius Kincaid has been marked for death!"
