CHAPTER 122: THE HEART OF THE WORLD TREE

Meanwhile, Kranos was in his chambers. He stared at the twelve glowing orbs in front of him with a dazed expression; he had finally done it, he had condensed twelve orbs of mana! Kranos felt that the process was extremely difficult, and if it wasn’t for the mana stone, which had a huge amount of energy, he wouldn’t have been able to achieve this in his lifetime.

At a certain point, he wanted to condense more orbs after realizing that it was beneficial to him, but he realized that after reaching the twelfth stage, his mana core had reached the limit of what it could split into; there were no longer any impurities in his mana core!

He sighed for a moment, then said, "Now for the fusion process..." Kranos was just about to begin fusing all twelve mana cores when a knock on his door interrupted his thoughts. "Kranos, are you busy?"

Kranos realized that it was Kathryn’s voice. He hesitated for a moment and was just about to tell her he was busy with something when her voice came once again. "Do you want to see the heart of the World Tree?"

"The heart of the World Tree?!" Kranos’s eyes widened slightly as he sat on his bed. His interest was immediately piqued; if he could see the heart of the tree, it would really be a fascinating sight. Hesitating for some minutes, Kranos pondered for a bit. He had been too engrossed in cultivation; taking a refreshing sight would help him calm his mind. After that, he would enter into seclusion once again until the time for getting the treasure.

After thinking for a couple of minutes, Kranos then spoke, "In that case, I will come and see the heart of the World Tree with you." After he finished speaking, he donned his silver robes and then slowly walked out of the room. His gaze met with Kathryn’s, and he realized that she was already dressed quite... beautifully.

Kranos was slightly dazed, but only for a few seconds before his expression returned to its usual calmness. He stared at Kathryn, then said, "In that case, lead the way."

Kathryn nodded, then turned around and led them towards the gate of the hall. After walking out of the hall, instead of walking in the direction which they had previously used to enter the hall, Kathryn walked slightly towards the north. Under the light green, moonlit sky, it was quite a sight.

After walking for a few meters, they entered another hall. Kranos noticed that it was centered around a giant statue. It was a statue of a lady. Kranos was stunned for a moment; the statue looked extremely lifelike!

Kathryn’s voice entered his ears. "This is the statue of the goddess that birthed the World Tree. Some say it is the true appearance of the World Tree," she introduced gently with a beautiful smile.

Kranos stared slightly at the statue in shock. He faintly felt that the statue was looking at him. He didn’t ponder it and continued to follow Kathryn. Suddenly, something caught his eye; he realized that it was a greenish portal.

Kranos stared at the portal in slight surprise; after all, this was the first time he had seen a portal of a different colour. "Come, let’s enter," Kathryn said to Kranos, stretching her hand forward.

Kranos held her palm; it felt smooth. It was the first time he was holding the palm of a lady; besides, it was the palm of someone of a different race. With light steps, Kathryn stepped through the portal, bringing Kranos along with her.

As soon as they passed through the portal, Kranos felt a wave of life? This time, it was extremely different from the wave of spatial fluctuations he usually felt. This wave of life was extremely pure, and Kranos felt his heart was at peace. Just by this miraculous feeling, Kranos felt that stepping out of seclusion to come to this place was worth it.

Soon, they appeared in a different location. Kranos noticed that there were no trees where they had appeared, and it was filled with greenery and terrifyingly beautiful flowers. He was lost for a moment, as this was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen in all his two lifetimes. Kranos took a deep breath to calm his racing heart.

He also felt a strange sensation? Kranos was shocked. He quickly checked and realized that his mana cores were moving on their own and were slowly fusing. The process was occurring as though it were natural! Kranos’s eyes widened in shock. This was the first time he had encountered something like this!

Kathryn mistook his expression for surprise at seeing such a beautiful place and said with a smile, "It is beautiful, right? Aside from that, it is extremely beneficial for cultivation. After completing certain missions, members of the royal family can be allowed to come here and cultivate and increase their strength to a great extent!"

Listening to Kathryn’s explanation, Kranos was impressed. The World Tree was truly magical!

Kathryn continued introducing the World Tree to Kranos, "Aside from possessing mana, it is said that the World Tree contains different forms of energy, which is beneficial for different paths of cultivation..."

Kranos was slightly surprised, and he quickly asked, "There are different paths of cultivation? Do you know many of them?" Just as Kranos asked this, his eyes almost widened in shock, but his expression quickly returned to normal, because at that moment, he had realized that he was absorbing strands of... time!!!

Kathryn’s voice interrupted Kranos; she didn’t notice his change in expression. "The Stellar Cultivation Technique we got is also a path of cultivation!" Kathryn chuckled as she explained, causing Kranos to be shocked. Previously, he hadn’t thought that the Stellar Core Cultivation Technique was that profound.

"Isn’t it difficult to create a cultivation path?" Kranos was puzzled. Because he had rarely seen any different cultivation paths, he understood that it was difficult to create a unique cultivation path.

"Of course it is!" Kathryn replied with a laugh, "But, do you think the Sovereign Star Sect is ordinary?"
