CHAPTER 166: FIGHTING FOR THE EIGHTH RELIC! [THANKS TO KING_OF_LUCK FOR THE EXTRA CHAPTER!]

With only two relics left before this phase of the inheritance ground would end, everyone felt their blood quicken. They could hardly suppress their impulsiveness to join the battle between the god realm experts.

Unfortunately for them, the battle had already ended by this moment, and a cultivator at the god incarnate realm had obtained the relic after braving the dangers brought about by both god realm and god incarnate realm cultivators.

Staring into the distance, they frowned but could only wait patiently for the next two relics to appear.

Since the start of the battle, the number of god realm cultivators had decreased drastically compared to how many there were initially.

Presently, only two god realm cultivators remained, and their auras, which were barely suppressed, revealed that they had only recently stepped into the god realm.

Because of this, their strength was similar to that of a cultivator at the peak of the god incarnate realm.

Just as everyone was lost in thought, the surroundings stirred. Immediately, a mysterious aura spread across the area, brushing against their skin like invisible ripples of ancient power.

...

Within the mysterious space, Kathryn noticed the appearance of the relic. Her emotions stirred as she recalled a few important memories.

Turning to Kranos and the others, she spoke lightly, "We will take this relic."

Kranos opened his eyes from deep meditation, and so did Luka and Kevin. They stared at her with startled expressions. However, Kathryn didn’t explain. She simply stared at them in silence, her gaze firm and unreadable.

After a short pause, Luka raised his fist. "In that case, let’s do this," he exclaimed with a faint grin, thrusting his fist into the air.

A wave of excitement surged through him. He had been itching for battle and could hardly restrain himself any longer.

At the mention that they would be targeting the eighth relic, Luka turned to glance around, his gaze piercing through the mysterious space and reaching the world outside.

"They have already started fighting for the relic."

Kathryn nodded at his words and then added, "This battle will be much more difficult than the previous one. However, thankfully there are not many god realm cultivators left, so we do not have much to worry about."

Hearing her words, Kranos and the other two nodded in agreement.

It was particularly good news that most of the god realm cultivators were already dead.

Without hesitation, Kathryn began relaying the plan they would follow to Kranos and the others.

The plan was quite simple. This time, based on Kranos’s strength in the previous battle, Kathryn wanted him to spearhead the attack.

Kranos was reluctant at first. However, Kathryn also reminded him that he had a distinct advantage with Aurora by his side.

Kranos fell silent upon hearing her words.

Aurora.

She was the most mysterious woman he had encountered, entirely unaffected by his time abilities and even able to counter them to a large extent.

Kranos frowned at the thought.

Was she an anomaly as well? He had a faint suspicion in his heart, but he still did not fully understand what the word ’anomaly’ truly meant. So he could not be certain of anything yet.

After further contemplation using rapid thought, he concluded that Kathryn’s explanation was the most logical.

Kranos sighed and then ultimately decided to go into battle.

Kathryn nodded in relief and then relayed the remaining instructions to Luka and Kevin.

"You will shoot enemies that blindside Kranos from a distance, while I’ll remain with you, constantly watching over you to ensure your safety," she said as she pointed at Kevin.

She then turned to Luka. "As for you, just do your thing."

Kathryn wasn’t worried about Luka in the slightest. She simply gave him a glance and nodded silently. No matter what happened, with how absurdly lucky Luka was, she knew he would barely be harmed.

Luka just laughed at her words, and they immediately put their plan in motion.

Kranos took out Eternal Hunger.

Feeling the sword vibrate, he jumped to his feet. His figure flickered like a ghost as he activated the Heaven and Earth Movement Technique.

Right then, Luka glanced at him thoughtfully.

Right. I haven’t asked him how he was able to master the techniques from the stele. Could it be because he also possesses an affinity above S-grade?

Luka muttered inwardly as he made his move. His form split into seven shadowy clones that darted forward, rushing straight into the chaotic battlefield.

...

A young man with slightly blue hair and sparkling green eyes twirled the rod in his hand, striking the space surrounding him repeatedly.

With each motion, space compressed into bursts of raw force, which exploded outward toward the cultivators who dared to approach.

As the man attacked, he shouted wildly. His movements were sharp and fluid, like a deadly dance, creating bursts of energy that reduced more than a hundred cultivators into blood mist within seconds.

Everyone’s eyes were filled with horror as they stared at the cultivator who continued unleashing devastating attacks.

He had emerged out of nowhere and slaughtered over a hundred cultivators before anyone had time to react.

Although it was possible to defend against the rod’s attacks, his speed was overwhelming. Before one had blocked a single strike, a dozen more would arrive in the blink of an eye.

The man’s form shimmered like a mirage, constantly shifting, never in the same place for long.

Just as he was laughing wildly and reveling in the battle, a strange sensation crept through his body. His instincts flared.

He turned his attention to the distance and noticed a figure rapidly approaching, the air bending faintly with each step.

"Another cultivator coming to die?" the man sneered, immediately raising his rod toward the sky.

This cultivator was only in the monarch realm, yet he had already comprehended a domain.

As the rod ascended, a ferocious gale gathered above. The skies churned, and the clouds compressed into a massive rod-shaped formation, glowing with condensed spiritual force.

With a loud hum, the technique activated.

"Ferocious Rod Cloud Domain!"

The man swung his arm downward, and space warped violently as the colossal rod made of clouds plummeted toward Kranos like a divine judgment from the heavens.
