CHAPTER 797: CHAPTER 725, THE CHOSEN ONE

Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva solemnly said, "Even though I am in Yin Mountain, I can still sense an undercurrent surging tumultuously within the Three Realms."

"Bodhisattva, why can’t I feel it?"

"Your cultivation is not enough!"

"Bodhisattva, it might be because the Westward Journey has concluded and the Eastern Earth Buddha is about to assume his position. The energy Between Heaven and Earth is transforming, which is why you sensed it."

Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva shook his head and said, "That’s incorrect, I feel there might be some problems between Buddhism and the Heavenly Court. Please go and investigate for me, make sure it does not affect the Eastern Earth Buddha assuming his position."

Namo Merit Buddha immediately responded seriously, "Alright, I will go investigate." This concerned his own great future, and he could not be careless.

After Namo Merit Buddha left, the expression on Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva’s face gradually stiffened, and another Buddha came to ask questions, what should he do now?!

One could foresee the moment the truth was revealed, all Buddhas of Buddhism would move together, their overwhelming power pressing down on Yin Mountain. Surely, they are not intending to devour me alive!

Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva suddenly felt as if the Golden Lotus beneath him had sprouted lotus seeds, making him restless and anxious, his mind recalling his teacher’s words that if he could go to the Heavenly Court, it might be worth considering.

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple, The Buddha sat in his Buddha Position, his gaze deep, watching over the mortal world below, where Hua Mountain’s base was in chaos.

Buddha of Tranquil Light and Joy curiously asked, "Buddha, what are you watching?"

"I am watching a grand play about to unfold, which will mark the beginning of a great era for our Buddha Sect."

Guanyin Bodhisattva put her hands together in a salute, smiling and said, "Buddha, your disciple requests to return to Luojia Mountain."

"Granted," The Buddha said with a smile and a nod.

Buddha of Tranquil Light and Joy glanced at The Buddha and then at Guanyin Bodhisattva, feeling that there was an unspeakable secret between them. Suddenly, the image of Joyful Buddha in one hundred and eight forms flashed through his mind, making him shiver, "Surely the Buddha’s taste can’t be that peculiar! Although Guanyin appears female now, she used to be a male!"

With a weird look, Buddha of Tranquil Light and Joy thought perhaps he should introduce some real female Bodhisattvas to The Buddha.

Meanwhile, Guanyin Bodhisattva returned to Luojia Mountain.

As she stepped onto the island sanctuary, the Forest Guard General came forward to greet her, earnestly saying, "Bodhisattva, Emperor Ziwei has already arrived and is in the Purple Bamboo Forest."

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded with a smile and walked towards the Purple Bamboo Forest.

Inside the forest, Emperor Ziwei sat under the bamboo pavilion, sipping tea and enjoying the scenery leisurely.

Guanyin Bodhisattva floated in and smilingly said, "This humble monk has seen The Buddha at the Great Leiyin Temple. My apologies for making the Emperor wait~"

Emperor Ziwei gestured with his hand and said indifferently, "Sit!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva walked up to Emperor Ziwei and sat down in front of him.

Emperor Ziwei fiddled with the tea cup in his hands, quietly observing Guanyin Bodhisattva, using the tea cup to conceal his own expressions, showing neither joy nor anger—a necessary cultivation for an emperor.

Emperor Ziwei asked, "May I know what matter Bodhisattva has called upon me for?"

With a worried expression, Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "Your Majesty, although we are monks, we understand that all Immortals and Buddhas of the Three Realms must prioritize the bigger picture, strictly adhere to the Heavenly Law Order, and dare not overstep it, lest we be emulated by the creatures of the Three Realms."

Emperor Ziwei nodded slightly, expressing his approval, "Tathagata is right! Buddhism is also correct!"

"Thank you for your praise, Your Majesty! However, we have now uncovered a major incident occurring within the Three Realms, involving the intervention of the Heavenly Court Emperor, which we find difficult to resolve."

"Oh?" Emperor Ziwei raised an eyebrow, asking, "What major incident?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva raised a hand, creating a barrier that enveloped the Purple Bamboo Forest, and spoke in a hushed voice, "Princess Yang Chan of the Heavenly Court secretly married a mortal and gave birth to a child."

"What?" Emperor Ziwei exclaimed loudly, suddenly standing up, his eyes filled with disbelief.

Then he sat down again, fixing his gaze on Guanyin Bodhisattva, and asked sternly, "How did you find out?"

"Not to hide from Your Majesty, we have Buddhist Disciples secretly preaching in Hua Mountain, who by chance discovered this matter. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, they immediately prayed and reported to our Buddha, and afterward, that Buddhist disciple lost contact."

Guanyin Bodhisattva paused, then continued solemnly, "Now we know that at least Jade Emperor and Emperor Gouchen are assisting Princess Yang Chan in deceiving the Heavenly Court, disregarding the Heavenly Rules, and disrupting the order.

We are not sure if other Heavenly Gods are involved, but within the entire Heavenly Court, the only one we can trust is Your Majesty. We implore you to uphold the Heavenly Rules."

Emperor Ziwei sat lost in thought, his mind turbulent; such a major event has occurred in the Heavenly Court—Princess Yang Chan secretly marrying in the mortal world, violating the Heavenly Rules, with Emperor Gouchen and Jade Emperor together concealing it from the gods, obscuring the Heavenly Rules. Once this matter is revealed, the prestige of the Heavenly Court will suffer a severe blow, but it also presents an opportunity for me. First, let me test Buddhism.

With a deep breath, Emperor Ziwei said heavily, "You’ve informed me of this news, what do you wish to do?"

With a heavy tone, Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "Great Emperor, the Heavenly Court is now increasingly in chaos. Even the mighty Heavenly Emperor dares to deceive upwards by fooling downwards, mocking the creatures. What future can such a Heavenly Court have? How can such an emperor still be considered the blessing of all beings?

We in Buddhism are extremely disappointed with the Heavenly Court and wish to invite Your Majesty to cleanse the universe, to overthrow the absurd rule of the Jade Emperor, and under your leadership, to forge a fair and just Heavenly Court."

Emotion stirred in Emperor Ziwei’s heart, feigning surprise he said, "Under my leadership to reshape the Heavenly Court?"

"That’s right, in the entire Heavenly Court, we can only trust your Majesty, and only your Majesty has the power to cleanse the universe. You are well aware of the current state of the Heavenly Court, so please, for the sake of all living beings," Guanyin Bodhisattva stood up and bowed solemnly.

Emperor Ziwei’s arms rested on the bamboo table, tapping the surface, using this action to mask his nervous and excited inner self, laughing, "Heaven aids me, it’s the will of Heaven."

Guanyin Bodhisattva was right, I am well aware of the current state of the Heavenly Court myself, the Jade Emperor indulges in song and dance, neglecting government affairs, treating all creatures as nothing, indeed a foolish Heavenly Emperor.

Emperor Gouchen monopolizes the great power, finance, and military authorities all in his hands. Many Heavenly Gods only respect Gouchen and not the Jade Emperor, many Star Gods also ignore my authority, turning to worship Emperor Gouchen, just a mere Emperor wielding the entire power of the Heavenly Court, bullying the Heavenly Court, oppressing all gods, all gods daring anger but not speaking out, even the Jade Emperor must act according to his mood.

Southern Polar Emperor of Longevity and Qinghua Emperor are also two foolish emperors, every day engaged in closed-door cultivation, neglecting the affairs of the Heavenly Court and not fulfilling the responsibilities of the emperor, merely two wastrels.

Thus, indeed, only I am capable of taking on the responsibility of reorganizing the Heavenly Court, even Buddhism has sought me out, it’s the will of the people, this is Heaven’s Anointment!
