Progenitor Vampire: I Have Many Skills!
Chapter 609 609: The Mysterious Cave Below
Gray Allen looked at the key strangely. It gave off a dangerous vibe, but he couldn't understand it.
"What is it?" he asked.
Matthew stared at the key for a while.
'I've only heard a few things about it, but my father always told me that there was a deep, mysterious, and strange secret behind it. He seemed to know, but all he told me was that one day I would know. What is it?'
'It's in the human race and in the vampire race. I think the Dragons protected one too, and the Ancient Elves of that Great Forest too. But is it only us who protect that, or some of the Races of the New Age too?'
Many protected these doors and key, but almost no one understood what they were. What was clear was that it had nothing to do with the Hill Clan because they, too, were protectors of one.
Now, that's the problem.
If it has nothing to do with the Traitorous Clan and all the races he knows seem to be protecting at least one door, then what the hell was it associated with? An Eternal? Several Eternals? One of the new age races?
There were too many questions, and he couldn't find the answer to any of them. What was certain was that his Clan Dietrich had never been the guardian of any of these doors and that only his father seemed to know their secrets, but even that didn't answer anything.
'Sigh. I guess it's like my father said. Someday, I'll find the answers.' He shook his head and put the key away.
"I'd like to know too," he said before walking towards the Becker mansion.
Although Gray was surprised by his answer, he quickly caught up with him.
"Looking for the Becker treasures, Young Master?"
"Not really. I'll leave that to you. I'm more interested in learning some of their secrets, but since I already know practically everything, I just want to see what's at the bottom of this place," replied Matt.
Because Matthew had already seen all the books that belonged to what had been collected by those abilities that were with those three Beckers, he naturally knew the secrets they kept. He was only curious about one thing, and that was in the basement.
Gray didn't ask any more questions and followed him down. Matthew's solution to all the traps set by the Beckers left him in shock, but he didn't ask any more questions.
They soon reached the basement, where all kinds of inscriptions were all over the room. There was also an altar in the middle and many dry bones.
On one side was a corpse-eating herb, similar to the one Matthew had, but this one didn't seem to work.
"It reached the limit of its life. I guess it's been here for over 7 million years. It's no wonder the Beckers were so outstanding in the beginning," Gray said, grasping the almost withered grass.
"But it's strange."
"Hm? What?"
Matthew approached the altar in the corner and touched it a little. It was where the key he had was supposed to go, but he knew it was impossible to use it, so he didn't even try.
The thing is...
"This thing is still absorbing blood," he said suddenly, causing Gray to hurry over to him.
"This altar absorbs blood? And where does all this absorbed blood come from?" He looked around again; there was no sign of blood. Then he saw that the altar was still absorbing blood, and he felt stunned.
"What the hell?"
Matthew was also confused and looked up, thinking that perhaps the blood came from the guys they had just killed, but it didn't. The walls and ceiling were spotless. It has lots of different inscriptions but no bloodstains.
"How strange..."
He got up and touched the walls a little, then the floor. When he couldn't find anything, he gave the floor a few knocks as he got up because he thought about giving up, but then...
*Thud*
*Thud*
The blow he had just given the floor made a curious sound, echoing.
"Echo?" They both looked at each other.
It wasn't just any echo but a strange echo that seemed drowned out by... Water?
Although Gray was still confused, Matthew's eyes sparkled with understanding.
"I see..."
He crouched down again and knocked once more, but this time more gently, so as not to make a noise. As he did so, the knock on the inscription-covered floor sounded hollow.
"Hollow?" Gray approached and took a tool out of his ring. It looked like a bell, but it didn't sound like a bell when he rang it. It had a strangely hollow sound, which shocked Gray.
"God, there's a huge hole here," he said, interpreting the sound of his tool.
Matthew had already figured it out. It wasn't just hollow. There was something liquid underneath it that made Matt's head hurt, not because it was dangerous, but because of the absurd amounts of something so precious to the race.
"Let me destroy this. Blow for a moment, otherwise you'll get stained," Matthew said.
"Stain?" Due to his confusion, he did not fly immediately as Matt told him to, and in a moment, the entire floor and walls were surrounded by a strange, powerful ice that caused the inscriptions to crack instantly.
Then, without Gray being able to react, the inscriptions were suddenly destroyed into pieces, and gravity drastically attracted his body.
Confused, he could not react immediately, and his body suddenly fell towards a huge hole filled with a strange red liquid, with a splash.
Matthew looked at him and smiled. "I usually prefer to take dips in the water, but if someone likes to do it in blood, who am I to judge?" he joked.
Gray Allen quickly stuck his head out and flew up without any problems, but his clothes were already stained with blood.
"What the hell is this?" Gray looked around in utter shock.
Behind it all was a vast cave bigger than Becker City, with lots of giant holes in it, with lots of blood in them, and in the middle of it all was that strange altar, sucking blood out of these huge holes.
