Progenitor Vampire: I Have Many Skills!
Chapter 614: An Amazing Woman (1)
CHAPTER 614: AN AMAZING WOMAN (1)
The door opened suddenly, revealing the face of a middle-aged man with gray hair. Although his face was still firm, he had more gray hair than he had at that time.
When he saw her, he was shocked. "Lady?"
"I promised you I would visit you with my husband last time. I came to keep my promise."
The old man then looked away and looked at Matthew. His elegant and powerful bearing left him impressed.
He quickly opened the door wide and smiled at them.
"Only one customer has come since then, but getting the things necessary to prepare the wines these days is very difficult, so I should say that I don’t have much to offer you, but since it is you, lady, I will bring out the wine left for special occasions." He laughed pleasantly at the end of his words, which in some way revealed the kind of person he was.
A cheerful person, but with many stories to tell. Perhaps he had experienced too many things to be surprised that someone would destroy the city where he lived, and even when he found that someone, he didn’t care and simply invited her in.
What’s more, he wasn’t doing it while kneeling down begging for forgiveness, nor did he seem pressured by the power capable of destroying the city; he was simply seeing Emma as a normal person, someone he got along with, and didn’t care about the rest.
His manner made Matthew understand why Emma liked this place. ’With a person like that, everyone would like it. He is a man who does not bow down or fear death or adversity and always keeps looking ahead. He is an old man full of memories that he carries with him.’
Such a good atmosphere; Matthew did not expect to find it here, so he entered the tavern.
But when he took a step inside, he stopped when he felt a presence. A person was sitting on the bar, with a hood over his head and looking gently out of the window to his right.
The old man noticed Matthew’s gaze and smiled. "It’s the only customer I’ve had since the lady attacked. Don’t worry, she’s a good person," he said.
Matthew looked at him and nodded.
Emma saw her but didn’t think much of it. She proceeded to sit down, and Matthew sat in the middle.
"I found this place before the main battle," Emma said suddenly.
"You liked the atmosphere, didn’t you?" Matt asked, and she nodded.
"Yes, it’s unique. It reminds me of my home when I was little."
"Haha, although looking out the window, I don’t think it brings back those memories," he said as he looked out over the destroyed city.
Emma shook her head. "I think it’s the same as before. Outside, I can enjoy a different landscape, caused by me, and see the fruit of my work. And here, I can enjoy a memorable and peaceful environment. Besides, the old man is a very nice person."
Matthew smiled. "Yes, I can see that," he said, and then looked at the other person next to him. "It seems that even you can see it," he said suddenly.
The fact that his words were addressed to that figure made Emma pay more attention to her. They couldn’t see her face because it was covered, but she had a cutting aura.
"Do you know her?" Emma asked.
Matthew shook his head in reply. "I should say this is the first time we’ve met, but I think she already knows me, don’t you, Miss Edevane?"
At his words, the figure finally reacted slightly.
Emma looked at her in shock. ’Cecily Edevane?’ Her hand instinctively moved towards her ring, and she drew her sword from behind her.
At the same time, the old man entered through the door with several jugs of wine. Although he heard the conversation, he paid no attention and simply poured wine for each of them and himself before sitting down too.
Finally, the woman’s voice came out.
"I didn’t come here to fight with you," she said softly, her words addressed to Matthew.
He smiled. "I can see that."
"I’m just passing through," she continued.
"I’m glad. I don’t feel like fighting anymore, for now."
"I heard that our abilities actually belong to you. Is that true?"
"You heard correctly."
"..."
"..."
Cecily moved her head slightly to look at Matthew’s face, which was calmly stirring the wine that had just been served to him.
He was calm and did not seem at all surprised that Cecily was there. Besides, he was covered in openings all over his body, which would make it easy for Cecily to think she could kill him.
But somehow, an amazing aura rose above his body, making Cecily not even think about doing it.
"Did you come to seek my abilities?" she asked suddenly.
Matthew then looked at her sideways. "You knew I would come, didn’t you?"
She did not reply.
"Why did you stay, then? Aren’t you afraid I’ll take your abilities away?"
"I’m not as weak as you think."
"Are you trying to confront me? I think you know the story of Leader Becker and his end." He smiled maliciously as he said this, but Cecily still stood her ground.
"Have you ever heard of Heirs more powerful than the Leaders of Vampire Clans?" she asked.
Matthew stared at her. "Just rumors. So far, although Charles Relish was certainly more powerful than Leader Becker, in the end, his end was the same."
"..."
"Speechless?"
Cecily took a deep breath, grabbed the glass of wine, and drank it down.
"That drink was for the death of an old friend."
"Aren’t you going to avenge him?"
"I would not avenge the death of traitors."
"Good answer."
"I don’t want to hear about who killed him."
Matthew smiled softly. "I only kill those who deserve it. But how does your strength compare to his?" he asked suddenly.
Cecily shook her head gently. "The difference between Number 1 of the Heirs and Number 2 is too great."
Her answer surprised Matthew. "As expected from someone who inherited some of my best combat skills." He smiled.
After telling him this, she looked at him deeply but poured herself more wine before answering.
"Did you come to get my skills?" She asked again.
