CHAPTER 107: CHAPTER 107: WARMING THE HEART (3)_1
Ever since they left for their honeymoon, Julia Bluen always slept until she naturally awoke.
When she opened her eyes, the sun outside the window had already climbed high.
Turning her head, she saw the bed beside her was empty. Glades Horne had already gotten up.
She hurriedly sat up, slipped into a pair of slippers, found her clothes, and finished freshening up. Only then did she walk to the French doors to draw back the heavy curtains, letting the warm sunshine filter in. She stood before the French doors for a moment before turning to leave the Bedroom. In the small sitting area outside, she saw a bowl of fresh, steamy vegetable, shredded pork, and mushroom soup noodles on the coffee table.
Delighted, she quickly walked over to the coffee table and sat down.
There was a small note underneath the bowl.
As she picked up the bowl, she also grabbed the note. It was written in Glades’s bold and vigorous handwriting: "Julia, since we left, it’s been a long time since you’ve had your favorite noodles. This is the breakfast I’ve prepared for you; the temperature should be just right. Eat up. Glades."
A warm current swept through Julia’s heart.
She quickly picked up her chopsticks and began to eat the soup noodles Glades had personally cooked for her. She imagined him awkwardly borrowing the hotel kitchen to make the noodles for her.
He was never a culinary expert. When they prepared dinner together in their new home, he was clumsy even when washing vegetables and dishes. Now he had actually made her a bowl of noodles; if she wasn’t moved by this, she must have a heart of stone.
The taste was a bit bland, the craftsmanship subpar, but to Julia, it tasted delicious.
She was a noodle fanatic; not a day went by without her having a bowl. After leaving home, they dined daily in the hotel on exotic delicacies. She hadn’t realized just how much she missed a simple bowl of noodles.Yet, she had never voiced her craving, and he, ever so considerate, had thought of it.
Julia drank every last drop of the soup.
After the breakfast made with love, she left their room and headed downstairs.
Just as she stepped out of the hotel, she stopped short in surprise.
There was Glades, riding a bicycle in circles on the open ground in front of the hotel, practicing his cycling.
He was so tall, nearly one hundred ninety centimeters, that he looked somewhat awkward on the bicycle. But he wasn’t afraid. Regardless of the expressions on others’ faces as they watched him, his mind was set on one thing: improving his cycling skills. Then he could take her out, and they wouldn’t be left far behind by others. She could flash a triumphant smile at them. Most importantly, he wouldn’t tip over and make her fall again.
"Your husband is practicing cycling," the couple who had ridden ahead of them yesterday remarked with a smile, happening to exit the hotel just then and seeing Glades’s efforts.
Julia didn’t speak. Her mind was suddenly filled with a myriad of thoughts. This man... he was already so good to her. For her sake, he didn’t care about anyone else’s opinion; he only wanted to give her the best.
"Honestly, your husband is tall and handsome, and it’s plain to see he loves you deeply. You’re really lucky," the woman said, looking at Glades with envy.
Hearing her words, her husband immediately pulled her into his arms, asking jealously, "Honey, am I not tall and handsome? Don’t I love you deeply? Aren’t you happy with me?"
CHUCKLE!
The woman laughed as well.
The young couple embraced as they walked out of the hotel, wheeling the bicycle they too had purchased upon arriving in the Maldives. Once on their bicycle, they set off for another romantic outing.
Perhaps their conversation had startled Glades, for he turned his head and saw Julia standing at the hotel entrance, staring intently at him.
After parking the bicycle, he quickly walked up to Julia, affectionately tousled her short hair, and asked, "Did you eat the noodles?"
Julia nodded.
"Then, let’s set off." Glades took her hand and led her to the bicycle. "Today we’ll definitely surpass them. I’ve been practicing for two whole hours; my cycling skills must have improved a lot." He pushed the bicycle forward, mounted it, and gestured for Julia to sit on the rear seat, just like yesterday.
Julia complied. He was indeed correct: his cycling skills had truly improved significantly. The handlebars no longer wobbled, and he rode with remarkable ease.
In no time, he overtook the couple from yesterday.
Sitting on the rear seat, Julia turned her head and smiled at them as they passed.
HEE HEE! It was finally her turn to feel smug.
The other couple immediately gave chase, not holding back.
Sensing their "rivals" weren’t giving up, Glades also accelerated.
A novice cyclist, he impressively left the other couple far behind. Glades even turned his head, gave them a thumbs-up, then promptly flipped it downwards—a gesture of triumph as satisfying for the victor as it was infuriating for the defeated.
Julia beamed, her smile as radiant as the sun.
She knew it; her man was the absolute best!
With a husband like this, she was utterly content.
「James Horne Kitchenware Company.」
This company was established by James Horne himself. He had built it up from just a few workers to a large factory with over 2,000 employees in only four years.
He never took a single cent from the Horne Family; all the funds were borrowed from others.
He had truly started from scratch. Even though he held the title of the Fourth Young Master of the Horne Family, he was an illegitimate child. Because his mother had signed an agreement with his father’s legal wife years ago, he, a Horne Young Master, could not use Horne family funds to start his business. He was also a man of great pride. He refused private assistance from his father and had also declined financial support from Glades. Relying solely on his own hard work, he had climbed step by step to his current position.
Now, his personal assets already exceeded one hundred million.
Even though it couldn’t compare to Glades’s net worth, he was a true power in the business world!
At this moment, in the General Manager’s Office, James was sitting behind a dark red desk, focusing on the computer screen before him, which displayed a webpage about the Maldives.
