CHAPTER 119: CHAPTER 119_1

People, to survive and earn money for their families, always take great risks and endure significant hardships, constantly striving and struggling. In truth, no one wants to be chased by the City Management Bureau while trying to run a business; it’s simply that they lack sufficient capital. Who wouldn’t prefer to own a shop and conduct business comfortably inside?

Therefore, those in similar social strata can understand their plight.

When Rachel Bailey’s vehicle stopped, people gathered around to browse the clothes she had inside.

On her first day, the City Management Bureau had seized her and her goods, stuffing them into a vehicle. Although Hansen Ruiz later helped her retrieve both her merchandise and the car, she remained undeterred. She boldly continued to weave through the streets daily, earning a decent income. When business was good, a single day’s earnings could surpass what she used to make in several days at her previous job.

Having been caught before, she had now developed sharp eyes and keen ears, always watching closely for City Management Bureau vehicles and listening attentively for warnings from her fellow vendors.

Adele Horne parked her car by the roadside.

"What’s wrong?" Orlando Evans asked, puzzled. She glanced ahead at Rachel Bailey and questioned, "Adele, you don’t know that woman, do you? How could that be possible? Adele’s acquaintances are all wealthy and high-status; it’s absolutely impossible for her to know someone running a small street stall."

"I recognize her; she’s Julia Bluen’s bridesmaid," Adele explained. "Julia Bluen is a strange person. She doesn’t like mingling with the Upper Class Society and prefers to hang out with ordinary working-class people. I didn’t think much of it on the wedding day. But now, seeing this bridesmaid again, I’m certain she must have met Julia when Julia was out making her own way. To be Julia Bluen’s bridesmaid, she has to be one of Julia’s close friends." As she spoke, Adele had already stepped out of the car. Full of arrogance, she walked towards Rachel Bailey in her high heels.

Since she couldn’t bully Julia Bluen, bullying her close friend would help dissipate some of her own resentment.

Right now, Julia and her older brother are honeymooning in France. Who could help Rachel Bailey?

Upon hearing that Rachel Bailey was Julia Bluen’s bridesmaid, a look of hatred flickered in Orlando Evans’s eyes. She hated Julia Bluen to the bone and, by extension, despised anyone close to her.

Thus, she too raised her chin, following Adele Horne with an arrogant expression as they walked towards Rachel Bailey.

"If you find them comfortable, please recommend your friends to buy from me too," Rachel Bailey said with a beaming smile, sending off her customer. In the few minutes she had been parked, she had already sold several more items.

Her stock consisted of autumn wear, neither too thick nor too thin. With winter approaching, she needed to sell all these clothes before the cold set in. Even if she couldn’t sell everything, she had to at least recoup her capital.

"How much are these clothes?" a contemptuous female voice suddenly asked.

Rachel Bailey looked up and saw Adele Horne disdainfully picking through the clothes with her thumb and forefinger, as if afraid the garments would dirty her "delicate" fingers.

How did I run into my friend’s sister-in-law?

Rachel Bailey’s brow furrowed slightly.

She reached out and pulled her clothing back from Adele’s grasp. Looking at Adele with a forced smile, she said, "Miss Horne, are you interested in these clothes too?"

"You remember me?" Adele had thought Rachel Bailey wouldn’t recognize her.

Rachel Bailey snorted. Who does she think I am? My eyes are as sharp as razors; I remember everyone I’ve seen even once. Besides, Adele Horne’s arrogance and overbearing attitude left such a deep impression, it would be hard to forget her even if I wanted to.

"What’s your name?" Now that Rachel had recognized her, Adele no longer touched the clothes. She wouldn’t even use them as rags to wipe tables; they’re too cheap. Towering over Rachel, Adele exuded an air of superiority. Her question was condescending, the sarcasm in her eyes like a cold barb aimed at Rachel.

It’s unbelievable! A friend of the esteemed Young Mistress of the Horne Family, a lady from such a prestigious background, is actually a street vendor.

That despicable sister-in-law of mine truly brings shame to the Horne Family!

I really don’t know what’s wrong with Big Brother. His fiancée ran off, and he immediately married her younger sister!

A nouveau riche’s daughter simply can’t compare to a truly prestigious family like ours.

"What my name is, is none of your business," Rachel retorted, repulsed by Adele’s condescending attitude.

"I’m asking you, so answer me!" Adele snapped, her anger flaring.

"And who might you be? My mouth is my own—I’ll speak if I wish. What can you do about it?" Rachel countered with the same feigned smile, enraging Adele until her face turned red.

People with short tempers are easily provoked.

"You..." Adele began, but Orlando Evans cut her off.

"Miss, could you please tell me how much these clothes are?" Orlando Evans stepped forward with a warm smile. She subtly hid her phone behind her back, positioning it so Adele could see, signaling her to call the City Management Bureau to apprehend Rachel.

"Are you interested in buying?" Rachel sized her up with a cold snort. Knowing Orlando was in cahoots with Adele, she showed no pleasantries.

Orlando Evans’s smile was exceedingly gentle, a stark contrast to Adele’s arrogant unreasonableness. She brought her bag to her chest, opened the exquisite purse, and pulled out several red USD bills, tossing them in front of Rachel. "This should be enough to buy one of your items, right?" she said with a smile. Without waiting for Rachel to react, Orlando picked up a white long-sleeved women’s T-shirt, threw it on the ground, and then stomped viciously on it.

Passersby stopped in their tracks, watching the unfolding drama.

White clothes stain easily. Just being thrown on the ground would soil them, let alone being stomped on by Orlando Evans. Within moments, the pure white shirt was disgustingly filthy.

"You..." Rachel’s face flushed crimson with anger.

After secretly calling the City Management Bureau, Adele became even more arrogant watching Orlando Evans’s actions. She casually tossed a wad of USD at Rachel and then threw all of Rachel’s clothes from the cart onto the ground. Rachel couldn’t react in time to stop them. The two women then began stomping on the clothes as if they had lost their minds.

The onlookers all stared at Rachel, mistakenly assuming she was the other woman in a love triangle who had stolen someone’s husband and was now facing the legitimate wife’s revenge.
