CHAPTER 129: CHAPTER 129 STRONG DEEP LOVE (4)_1
"Just tell me what it is, and if I can help, I will do everything in my power to assist you," came Helen Griffin’s forthright and hearty voice, very much like one of the guys.
"Strike at Cosmos Group. Your family is also in the lighting business, and the Griffin Family is the leader in this industry, posing the most direct threat to Cosmos," Glades Horne said in a low voice.
The Valence Group had cut off all business dealings with Cosmos Group. This left Dio Powell frantic and distressed over the reduced profits. If the Griffin Family competed for business with Cosmos, Dio Powell would be even more restless. Once Cosmos Group plummeted into a slump, Diana Powell and Nicholas Coldwell would be kicked out of upper-class society. From then on, whenever they stood in front of Julia Bluen, they would only be fit to lick her toes.
Glades Horne had initially not wanted to lay a hand on Cosmos Group during his honeymoon, but Nicholas Coldwell and Diana Powell had gone too far, being completely ignorant and overstepping their bounds.
Even though his beloved wife had just completely shut Diana Powell down on the phone, he was still angry—very angry.
Every time he heard the names of that shameless couple, he remembered how they had fiercely hurt his wife in front of so many people. They had been dressed in their wedding attire, their youthful pride and sweet demeanor etched in his memory. He couldn’t forget the tears on his wife’s face at that time. Whenever it came to mind, his heart would clench in pain.
"Alright, when do you want Cosmos to be removed from the business world?" Helen Griffin didn’t ask why; she simply asked for an answer.
"The sooner, the better!" Glades Horne replied in a low voice, his eyes becoming exceptionally cold and ruthless at that moment.
"Okay, I will do my best," Helen Griffin agreed immediately and straightforwardly, having gotten the answer she wanted.
"I’ll thank you properly later." Glades Horne’s expression softened.
"Haha, with our relationship, what’s there to thank for? Just make sure that when you play ball, you go easy on Julia and me; don’t let me die too embarrassingly," Helen Griffin laughed cheekily.
Glades Horne also smiled faintly.
"Let’s talk when I get back." After speaking, he ended the call and went back to the bedroom. His handsome face looked as calm as gentle clouds and a soft breeze, with no trace of his earlier mood to be seen.
Julia changed her clothes and walked out of the dressing room, unaware that her man had just powerfully struck down those who had hurt her.
A little later, a hotel staff member brought breakfast for two. After breakfast, the couple left the hotel to continue their romantic journey.
They planned to stay in Paris for three days. After that, they would fly to other places. Indeed, Glades Horne intended to take Julia Bluen to experience every romantic place in the world. He hoped that in this month, she would be truly happy.
Sometimes, happiness and misfortune are like siblings, simply existing in different places and for different people.
While Julia Bluen and Glades Horne lived a happy honeymoon life, Ruby Bluen, on the other hand, was unlucky; she had rivals in love. She originally thought she only had Emma Wright as a rival. But after a few days of interaction, she realized she had underestimated the situation; Tiffany Alvarez, the new nurse, was also her rival in love.
Both rivals came from military backgrounds, accustomed to the hardships of the army. They had entered Tibet before her and were already acclimated to the cold weather there.
Anyway, when those two women had nothing to do, they clung to Marcel Horne like glue. Marcel, for his part, was quite gentle with them. Ruby couldn’t tell if he was doing it on purpose or if he was simply unable to resist their charm.
His behavior left her feeling outwardly composed but inwardly sour.
That day, snow began to fall again. It was heavy snow, accompanied by the inevitable wind that blew relentlessly. The wind carried the heavy snow, and a glance revealed a world enveloped in white.
Ruby hated the cold. Despite wearing as many clothes as she could, she still felt freezing. In such weather, cowering in bed would still make her shiver, let alone going out.
But over lunch, Marcel Horne said he wanted to go out for a walk to aid his digestion. Hearing Marcel say this, Ruby quickly agreed, saying she would accompany him.
"Ruby, the snow is falling pretty heavily and the wind is strong. Look at you, your lips are turning a bit purple. Better not go out. Head back to your room and rest," Emma Wright said with an appearance of concern, though she was actually trying to stop Ruby from accompanying Marcel.
In these past few days, the three women were outwardly polite while constantly competing behind the scenes.
"’No, it’s fine. I’ve put on plenty of clothes,’ Ruby replied. She saw Marcel already walking away from the military camp. His tall figure braved the harsh wind and heavy snow, standing as resilient as a pine tree against the weather. She had returned the thick military coat to him, despite his repeated insistence that she keep it to stay warm. However, she was more concerned about him catching a cold.
She wouldn’t mind catching a cold herself. If he did, however, she would feel heartache and blame herself. After all, if she hadn’t come here, he wouldn’t have to endure this cold. That thick military coat and cap were a soldier’s most crucial defenses against the winter’s chill.
Ruby briefly responded to Emma’s feigned concern, then quickly hurried after Marcel’s retreating figure.
Emma Wright and Tiffany Alvarez didn’t give up on chasing Marcel just because Ruby did; they also headed outside.
The other soldiers cautiously watched this formidable love quadrangle unfold.
Ruby was the first of the women to enter their world, and most of the soldiers supported her. After all, it was clear their commander held a place for Ruby in his heart. However, Emma Wright and Tiffany Alvarez were also easy to get along with. They shared more common ground with the soldiers and engaged in deeper conversations, causing the soldiers’ loyalties to waver.
Marcel Horne was avoiding spending time alone with Ruby.
He left the camp and walked briskly, not wanting Ruby to catch up. For the past few days, he had strained to show kindness, taking care of Emma and Tiffany. Yet, he remained utterly cold toward Ruby, hoping she would give up and return to T City.
Each time he saw that defiant look in Ruby’s eyes, his heart actually ached. Days like these were torture for him.
