Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 164: Traceless (5)_1
"Boss, I want twenty pieces." As soon as that woman left, another came by. She casually ordered twenty pieces of clothing, handed them to Rachel Bailey, and asked Rachel to bag them up.
Twenty pieces?
Rachel's eyes went wide. Tonight was truly a stroke of good fortune; she had encountered such a major customer.
"Sure." Her beautiful eyes crinkled into slits as she smiled and quickly packed up the twenty items of clothing for the woman.
The woman gave her eight hundred yuan and left as swiftly as she had arrived, extremely decisive.
In an instant, Rachel had made one thousand two hundred yuan, and her heart was blooming with joy.
"Boss, how much for each of these clothes?" A few more women arrived, seeming to know each other, probably friends out shopping together.
"Forty yuan each." Rachel pointed to the price tag she had set up, answering with a smile while her hands instinctively guarded her purse.
"Hmm, the quality isn't bad." The woman who asked about the price briefly checked the clothes, nodding in approval. She then started picking out her favorite colors and styles. After a while, she handed a pile of clothes to Rachel and said, "Boss, I have a big family and lots of friends. Your prices are reasonable and the quality is good as well, so I'll buy a bunch to give to friends. Let's go for fifty pieces."
Fifty pieces?
Rachel's eyes sparkled with sudden brightness.
Fifty pieces! That's a huge order!
"Alright, I'll pack them up for you right away." Snapping back to reality, Rachel grabbed a super-large bag to pack the fifty items for the woman.
The woman handed her two thousand yuan.
The other women also picked out clothes in varying numbers, but all exceeding ten pieces each.
After each of them paid, they left with their purchases, remarking on the great value as they went.
Rachel was all smiles now, feeling that the woman who bought fifty pieces was super, super, super, super decisive!
"Boss Rachel, your business tonight is astonishingly good!" The owners of other small stalls in the shop complex, seeing Rachel's financial windfall, came out of their shops, their voices tinged with envy.
"Hehe, it's alright," Rachel chuckled. Her pile of clothing, which had been mountainous earlier, had now flattened—and even dipped a bit.
Time to restock tomorrow.
She could never have imagined that business tonight would be so good. In just over an hour, she had managed to sell most of the stock that had built up over a month, making nearly ten thousand yuan in the process.
She had no idea that the women who had bought clothes from her were all heading toward the corner of the street. There, a Land Rover was parked at the curb, with a man sitting inside. The car window was rolled down, and he was continuously handing out money to the women.
"I'll give you an extra ten yuan for every piece. Here, take the money and keep the clothes for yourselves to wear," said Hansen Ruiz.
It turns out, seeing Rachel's slow business, he had decided to help her by stopping these women as they passed by his car. He had negotiated a bulk deal, paying them to buy clothes from Rachel; the clothes would belong to these women, and he would give them an additional ten yuan per piece as a token of gratitude.
Who wouldn't be pleased to take part in such a deal?
"Sir, you are so kind to your girlfriend!" The woman who had taken fifty pieces couldn't help but compliment him.
"As long as she is happy," Hansen Ruiz replied with a faint smile, not correcting the woman's mistaken assumption that Rachel was his girlfriend.
"Men like you are rare these days," the woman continued, took the money and clothes, bid Hansen Ruiz goodbye, and left.
Hansen Ruiz touched his chin and chuckled to himself. Am I a good man? Well, probably.
However, in order to help Rachel and make her happy, he made his first unprofitable business transaction.
He drove the car a little forward, his deep gaze fixed on the petite, ordinary silhouette in the distance. Rachel Bailey, businessmen don't make unprofitable deals, he thought. I've taken a loss for you tonight, but I'll collect it back with interest in the future.
After watching Rachel for a while, Hansen Ruiz drove away.
「About twenty minutes later」
His car appeared in front of Rachel again.
"Hey, why are you back again?" Rachel, who had done great business and made nearly ten thousand yuan, was as happy as if she had won a five million jackpot. Seeing Hansen Ruiz carrying something and coming out of the car, she went up to him with a smile, taking the initiative to greet him.
"I was worried you'd go hungry," Hansen Ruiz began, talking in circles. "You're the CEO's wife's best friend, after all. If you were to starve on the street, she would be very upset. If she's upset, our CEO wouldn't be happy either, and then we subordinates would suffer. So, for our own sake, I've brought you dinner." He finally handed her the takeout food he had brought from the Five-Star Hotel.
"Ah, I almost forgot! Today is the day Julia returns from her honeymoon," Rachel exclaimed. She didn't immediately take the food container Hansen Ruiz was handing her, instead hurriedly taking out her phone to call Julia Bluen.
Seeing Rachel so preoccupied with the call to Julia Bluen and ignoring him, Hansen Ruiz felt the smile on his face stiffen momentarily.
This girl is so ungrateful! he thought. I went to such lengths to help her, even brought her food, and she's completely ignoring me for a phone call with Julia. This won't do. In the future, I have to make her prioritize me over Julia. Also, I need to remind my top boss, Mr. Glades Horne, to keep a tighter rein on his beloved wife, so she doesn't completely monopolize Rachel Bailey's attention!
After finishing her call, Rachel put her phone back into her purse. As she did, she caught sight of the thousands of yuan in red banknotes inside. Her lips spread into a wide grin, the smile still bright on her face as she zipped up the purse. Only then did she take the meal Hansen Ruiz had brought, thanking him, "Mr. Ruiz, thank you so much." It was already past seven, nearly eight in the evening, and she was indeed hungry.
"I ordered too much, couldn't finish it all by myself, so I had the waiter pack it up for you, or else it would've gone to waste," Hansen Ruiz said with a slight smile, obviously having had the meal specially packed for Rachel but slyly pretending it was leftovers.
