Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 180 - 180_1
"Mr. Coldwell, please step aside." Julia's pretty face darkened, and a chill shot from her eyes. The coldness in her gaze made even the usually proud Nicholas shrink back. He felt that this Julia was someone he had never known before, yet this other side of her deeply attracted him. He was still in love with Julia, and now that he saw this different aspect of her, he found it even harder to let go.
"I won't step aside, Julia. Please listen to my explanation. Cosmos is currently under attack by your brother-in-law, and I'm using this opportunity to turn the tables and make Dio Powell rely more on me. Once I secure Cosmos, I'll be worthy of you," Nicholas shamelessly revealed his unscrupulous ambitions.
Julia stared at him coldly, her heart in turmoil. Had she been blinded by a ghost in the past? How could she have fallen in love with such a shameless man? He could abandon their three years of affection for fame and marry Diana Powell. For the same reasons, he wouldn't hesitate to lead the Powell Family to ruin. She wouldn't get back with him even if she hadn't married, because he would do the same to the Bluen Family for power and wealth. He'd never truly love a woman; his love had always been for fame and fortune.
Nicholas's tone, however, suggested he was still considering a rivalry with Glades Horne. Julia scoffed inwardly. Could Glades really be defeated by someone as treacherous and shameless as Nicholas? Would the Valence Group be as powerful as it was? Could Glades cover the sky with one hand? Nicholas probably wouldn't even know how he died when Glades dealt with him.
"Mr. Coldwell, there is nothing we need to talk about, and you don't need to explain anything more to me. Sorry, I'm in a hurry, please step aside." Julia glanced at the time. It was almost twelve o'clock, and Glades should be arriving soon.
If Nicholas didn't want to die looking too pathetic, it would be wise for him to step aside.
"Julia." Nicholas stepped forward, not only refusing to move but also reaching out to grab her hand.
"Let go, Nicholas Coldwell!" Julia was furious. She forcefully shook off his hand, pushed him away, and started to walk off.
"Julia." Nicholas quickly grabbed her hand again. There were few people in the corridor; those who did pass by simply saw them as a couple having an argument and didn't intervene.
"Nicholas Coldwell, don't make me despise you from the bottom of my heart!" Julia's expression was icy as she tried once more to shake off his grasping hand. However, this time Nicholas was very forceful, and she couldn't break free. His grip was painful.
"Julia, let's go outside and talk, okay? I miss you. I really want to be alone with you again." Holding the soft hand he had held for three years, love began to overflow from Nicholas's heart, his longing growing more intense. He forcibly pulled Julia towards the exit.
No matter how strong Julia was, she was still a woman; her strength was no match for Nicholas's.
"Nicholas Coldwell, let me go! Or I'm going to call for help!" Julia really wanted to kick him hard.
"Sorry, this is my girlfriend, and we're just having a little dispute," Nicholas explained to an occasional passerby. When he heard Julia's warning, he suddenly pushed her against the wall. He pressed his robust body against hers, locking his burning gaze on her beautiful yet frustrated face.
"Let go of me, Nicholas Coldwell!" Julia, driven by rage, raised her foot and indeed kicked Nicholas hard. This heartless ingrate! He had wronged her first, and now he had the audacity to shamelessly pester her again!
Nicholas, kicked by her, endured the pain, his face darkening. He tightly trapped Julia's legs with his own, preventing her from kicking him again.
"You're mine, Julia!" Nicholas said ominously, his expression as fierce as his tone.
His boldness was indeed great, especially in a public place.
Passersby genuinely thought they were just a couple having an argument and looked away disapprovingly.
Just as Nicholas's lips were about to touch Julia's, two tall men dressed in black, wearing sunglasses like hitmen from the Mafia Society, suddenly appeared as if they had emerged from the ground. They stood behind Nicholas. With powerful hands, one on each side, they lifted Nicholas from behind, rescuing Julia in the nick of time. The expressionless men swiftly escorted Nicholas to the hospital entrance. Upon reaching it, they unceremoniously dropped him to the ground like trash. Nicholas's tall and handsome figure instantly became extremely wretched.
A prestigious silver Rolls-Royce arrived slowly.
Julia shot a fierce glare at Nicholas, who had been thrown to the hospital entrance by the two men in black. She was about to thank the men, but they departed without a word.
Suddenly, she heard the familiar sound of a car. She knew Glades had arrived.
Nicholas, utterly disgraced, scrambled up, his handsome face flushed crimson. Passersby gave him peculiar looks, which he found unbearable. He glared darkly at Julia, who stood coldly in the same spot, then turned and walked away sulkily. Just as he got into his car, the Rolls-Royce carrying Glades pulled into a parking space.
Without waiting for the bodyguards to open the car door, Glades got out himself.
Julia walked a few steps forward, stood at the hospital entrance, and put on a smile, waiting for Glades.
"Why are you standing here? Where is Adele?" Glades walked towards Julia, followed by two bodyguards.
Although it was noon and the flow of people in the hospital had dwindled, it didn't mean there was nobody around.
Those like Adele Horne, who hadn't finished their IV drips yet, and their relatives, couldn't help but widen their eyes when they saw Glades. Women were infatuated, and men were jealous.
"Adele is still receiving her IV drip. I came to get some medicine for her. I heard your car, so I waited here for you," Julia answered, her gaze fixed on Glades, as if she were seeing him for the first time.
