Adele Horne laughed, That was a silly question.

So, she found other topics to chat about with Orlando Evans. Following Orlando's directions, they drove up to a large building and stopped.

"I live on a floor in the teens; it's very high up, so let's take the elevator." After getting out of the car, Orlando Evans warmly linked her arm through Adele Horne's, and they headed towards the apartment building.

Glades Horne and Julia Bluen also parked their car in front of the same building.

Watching the two women disappear into the apartment building, the couple hurriedly exited their vehicle and went inside.

Orlando Evans took Adele Horne back to Othiel Evans's apartment. Othiel Evans didn't show himself, hiding in his room instead.

"Adele, look at this place. It's even better than my old home that got sealed up. You can rest easy now; I really am fine and living well." Orlando Evans guided Adele Horne to sit on the sofa, then went to the liquor cabinet. She spotted an opened bottle of red wine and, knowing it was tampered with, poured a glass for Adele Horne. She then opened another bottle for herself. She carried both glasses of wine back to the sofa, placed the drugged one in front of Adele Horne, sat down beside her, and said, "Adele, have some wine first."

Then she started drinking her own.

Adele Horne, completely unsuspecting, picked up the drugged wine and took a few sips before placing it back on the coffee table.

Seeing her drink it, Orlando Evans smiled with satisfaction and continued to chat idly with Adele Horne, all the while carefully monitoring her reactions.

Othiel Evans had used a strong dose of the drug, so Adele Horne began to react quickly after just a few sips.

"Isn't it winter? Why do I feel so hot?" Adele Horne said, confused, as she felt her entire body heating up.

"It's probably because of the wine, though red wine isn't usually that strong. Adele, are you sick? Your face is very red." Seeing the drug take effect, Orlando Evans put down her own glass, moved closer to Adele Horne, and feigned concern as she reached out to feel her forehead. Then, in a low voice, she gasped, "Adele, your forehead is burning up! You have a high fever. Oh dear, how did this happen? You really don't take care of yourself. Come on, rest in my room for a bit. I'll go buy you some medicine to bring the fever down."

With that, she helped the now slightly delirious Adele Horne towards the bedroom.

When Orlando Evans pushed the door open, Othiel Evans was already waiting inside. She gave him a significant look, and he quickly came over to take Adele Horne from her.

Orlando Evans stood to the side, relentlessly snapping pictures with her camera, a hideous grin plastered across her face.

KNOCK, KNOCK!

Just then, a knock came from the front door.

Both Orlando Evans and Othiel Evans were startled. Who could be knocking at this time?

The knocking continued, growing louder and more insistent. Othiel Evans said to Orlando Evans, "Go see who it is. If it's no one important, send them away. If they keep knocking like this, they'll alert the neighbors."

"To avoid any complications, I'll go check," Orlando Evans said, camera still in hand, as she left the room.

The knocking persisted.

"Who is it?" Orlando Evans called out as she approached the door. She first peeked through the peephole but saw no one, though the knocking persisted. Cautiously, she opened the door a crack. However, the moment she did, it was violently shoved open, the force sending her sprawling to the ground.

"Who is it?! So rude! Are you asking for trouble... Glades?!"

Just as Orlando Evans was fuming and cursing, she looked up to see Glades Horne and Julia Bluen striding past her into the apartment. The sight frightened her to the point of pale shock. Othiel Evans was in the other room, about to take advantage of Adele Horne...

"Brother Glades! Brother Glades!" Orlando Evans immediately shrieked, warning Othiel Evans in the other room that Glades Horne had somehow appeared. She was trying to tell Othiel to quickly overpower Adele Horne. Scrambling to her feet, Orlando lunged at Glades Horne from behind and threw her arms around him.

Her reaction instantly told Glades Horne and Julia Bluen that Adele Horne was in real danger. Glades Horne struggled to break free from Orlando's grip around his waist, while Julia Bluen frantically scanned the apartment for Adele Horne.

When Othiel Evans heard Orlando Evans's shouts, his heart plunged into panic.

This was the scene that greeted Julia Bluen.

"Adele!" Julia Bluen was instantly incensed. She grabbed the nearest vase and rushed at Othiel Evans, swinging it at his head. However, he dodged, and she missed.

When Othiel Evans saw it was Julia, his fear lessened slightly.

But Julia Bluen relentlessly tried to hit him with the vase.

Adele Horne had fallen back onto the bed, her body twisting uncomfortably as she constantly muttered, "So hot... so hot..."

Othiel Evans tried to snatch the vase from Julia Bluen's hands. There aren't many things in this room that could knock someone out. Besides this vase, there's nothing else! I have to get that vase!

"You scoundrel! Pervert! How dare you bully my Adele! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" At that moment, Julia Bluen was like a mother hen fiercely protecting her chick from an eagle, every fiber of her being bristling with rage. She gripped the vase tightly. Sensing Othiel Evans was stronger than her, she ducked her head and bit down hard on the back of his hand, then shot out her foot and kicked him fiercely.
