Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law
Chapter 476 Annoying Mother-in-Law (3)_1
CHAPTER 476: CHAPTER 476 ANNOYING MOTHER-IN-LAW (3)_1
It had to be said, he was an extremely attentive man. After learning of his beloved wife’s self-reproach, he subtly used various methods to distract her and lift her spirits.
While Adele Horne was enduring gossip and slander, her child’s beloved father, Noah Reyes, was in a Canadian city. In a villa there, he once again faced an assassination attempt.
This time, the person who wished to take his life was one of his aunts. Under the pretense of introducing him to a girlfriend, she brought a stunningly beautiful woman into his villa. However, this woman was a top-notch professional assassin intent on seducing him; instead, she ended up attempting to seduce his body double. When the female assassin was about to kill his double, Noah, from the shadows, threw the dagger he always carried—a weapon that had slain countless enemies—killing her and thus saving his nth body double from death.
Of course, he wouldn’t spare the aunt who had brought in the female assassin either.
He had far too many uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters—so many that he felt not a shred of familial affection for them, and likewise, they felt none for him. They all coveted his life, seeking to usurp the position of Young Sect Master of the Blazing Flame Sect.
His father was aware of his predicament but never helped him.
His father had once said that the Master of the Blazing Flame Sect must be able to withstand the test of life and death.
If he couldn’t even eliminate those who sought his life, then even if he ascended to the position of Sect Master of the Blazing Flame Sect, he would be a leader in name only. The Blazing Flame Sect was teeming with experts and countless talented individuals; it was an organization of the truly capable. Should the Sect Master prove useless, the elders and hall masters beneath him would seize power, reducing him to a mere figurehead—much like an incompetent emperor in ancient dynasties who became a puppet.
Surrounded by murderous intent, with no kin apart from his parents who truly loved, cared for, or concerned themselves with his wellbeing, How could I dare return to Syrena again, searching for that charming girl who occasionally appears in my dreams?
Habitually stroking the flame totem, Noah Reyes leaned back on the sofa, his expression indolent, betraying no hint of his ruthlessness. Yet, on the floor lay the bodies of two women: his aunt and the female assassin.
Deon Myers checked the two women’s bodies, confirmed they were dead, and then summoned men to take the female assassin’s corpse away. As for Noah Reyes’s aunt, Deon Myers needed to ask for instructions.
"Young Master, your aunt..."
"Send her back where she came from. Out of consideration for our aunt-nephew relationship, allow her a proper burial." Noah Reyes’s indolent expression vanished, replaced by a chilling coldness.
Deon Myers assented.
After Deon Myers had someone take his aunt’s body away, Noah Reyes stood up, looking bored. He tucked the flame totem under his clothes, against his skin. A sneer touched his lips. Even if those people managed to steal the flame totem, they could never become the true Sect Master. The family’s emblematic necklace is with my woman.
"T City in Syrena is a good place to settle down. Deon, do what needs to be done. Remember, I want true strength, not a dark reputation!"
With that, Noah Reyes vanished from Deon Myers’s sight.
He had many body doubles, each remarkably similar in expression, appearance, and voice. However, whenever an assassin died, the Noah Reyes who appeared was always the genuine one. Deon Myers had to commit his orders to memory and execute them with utmost dedication.

Outside Hansen Ruiz’s villa, a slight commotion contrasted sharply with the tranquility within.
On their first day of marriage, Hansen Ruiz and Rachel Bailey did little more than eat and sleep. If they weren’t sleeping, they were eating.
It was around four o’clock in the afternoon, and the young couple was still in bed, taking an afternoon nap.
Last night, Hansen Ruiz had been just as much a ’ravenous wolf’ as Glades Horne.
He had played the ’ravenous wolf’ all night long and had quite developed a taste for it, but Rachel Bailey was utterly exhausted.
Fortunately, it was their honeymoon, so they had no obligations, allowing the young couple to quietly enjoy their private world.
Their days were, in fact, even more carefree than those of Marcel Horne and Ruby Bluen.

Matthew Ruiz tried to stop his wife, Ellie Wallace. She was dragging a suitcase and getting out of the car, accompanied by Floyd Thomas. Disapproval was etched on Matthew’s old face.
"Ellie, let’s go home," he urged. "We have the marriage certificate, the wedding is over. Just relax and accept our son’s decision."
After Hansen Ruiz’s wedding, his family—the groom’s side—were supposed to head home. Hansen had already made it clear that he and Rachel Bailey would continue living in T City and would not be returning to the Ruiz family estate. Therefore, his relatives were merely guests at the wedding and were expected to depart today.
But who would have thought Mrs. Ruiz—Ellie—would still refuse to be placated? She insisted on staying and even declared her intention to move into Hansen Ruiz’s villa. Matthew Ruiz knew exactly what little scheme she was concocting: she wanted to live with them so she could find opportunities to torment her daughter-in-law when Hansen wasn’t around.
At times, Matthew Ruiz truly disliked his wife’s domineering and autocratic nature.
Their son’s affection for his daughter-in-law was so evident, and Hansen had even issued a warning. Yet, his wife just couldn’t swallow her indignation and insisted on tormenting Rachel. Isn’t this just asking for trouble from our son? Matthew thought.
I really don’t want our son to end up viewing the Ruiz family as his enemies, he worried.
"I’m Hansen’s mother! I want to live with my son. What’s wrong with that? I don’t want to go back; I insist on moving in!" Mrs. Ruiz retorted. She was the type who wouldn’t give up until faced with undeniable failure. Deep down, she was terrified that Hansen might actually destroy everything she held dear, yet she still put on a bold front, determined to interfere between Hansen and Rachel Bailey.
She was even acting partly out of spite, as if daring her son, testing whether he would still want her, his own mother.
She had conveniently forgotten yesterday’s events, forgotten how she herself had desperately hoped for Rachel Bailey to arrive at the church quickly.
"Ellie Wallace!"
Matthew Ruiz finally exploded, calling his wife by her full name, unable to contain his fury any longer.
They had been married for decades, and he had always indulged her, never preventing her from doing as she pleased. But now, he truly couldn’t bear it any longer. After decades of tolerance, it was time for him to finally erupt.
