CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: BAI YUEGUANG’S STAND-IN

Little Buding was thrilled beyond measure.

Actually, the task could end here, and Jiang Lai could leave this world and start the next task anytime if she wanted.

But she clearly wanted to play some more.

"Please help me call the police. This man stole my wallet and tried to take advantage of me."

The luxury goods variety here was wide and slightly cheaper, so Jiang Lai intended to buy a necklace for Mrs. Jiang as a gift, and she entered a roadside jewelry store.

There weren’t many customers in the store, apart from her, there were only a few people shopping around.

Soon, Jiang Lai fancied a diamond necklace in the glass cabinet, just about to ask the clerk to take it out for her to look at when Little Buding suddenly piped up.

The other bad news is, another man in this store is a robber, just released from prison, and has already taken a clerk hostage."

After hearing this, Jiang Lai turned expressionlessly to leave, only to hear Little Buding speak up after two steps.

"The two men standing at the door are accomplices, they have guns."

With a gun aimed at their heads, everyone obediently gathered and squatted down, a total of nine people, including a couple, a mother pushing a stroller, and a masked man, the rest three were clerks.

Behind the counter not far away lay a clerk already dead, facing Jiang Lai, her blue eyes still showing helplessness and fear.

Jiang Lai glanced silently, lowered her head, listening to the fearful and despairing cries around her, a cold gleam in her eyes.

The robber madly smashed the glass of the counter, greedily plundering jewelry and diamonds, the two robbers at the door watched the hostages, their dark gun barrels aimed at the crying child.

He pulled the trigger, and as the gun barrel touched the mother’s forehead, the silent man beside suddenly stepped forward.

"Please don’t hurt the child."

"Playing hero? Then breathe your last bit of air."

The man clenched his teeth, while in despair, the pale yellow figure beside him suddenly stood up, grabbing the robber’s gun barrel with incredible speed and forcefully lifted it upwards, firing a shot at the ceiling!

The sudden gunshot startled the nearby robber, who immediately aimed the gun at Jiang Lai, but Jiang Lai quickly shifted, controlling the robber’s hand next to her, making him aim his gun at his accomplice.

Two gunshots rang out one after the other, and the two shot individuals slowly fell.

One was the robber across who was shot in the heart, the other was the unlucky guy pulled by Jiang Lai to shield herself who ended up being shot to death by his accomplice.

Hiding behind the human shield, Jiang Lai safely picked up the gun from the robber, turned it towards the robbery suspect who had just turned around and hadn’t reacted yet, and pulled the trigger.

Everything happened too fast.

Many people didn’t even get a chance to look up, and the three robbers were already lying on the ground.

Two died instantly, one was shot in the arm and leg, lying on the ground unable to resist.

Soon the police arrived, after clarifying the situation, they quickly cleaned the scene, took everyone back for written statements, and then let them leave.

Regarding the death of the robbers, Jiang Lai explained that the gun accidentally went off, she happened to seize the gun and saved everyone.
