It should be galangal, whose flavor is mild and unsuitable as a seasoning, but it makes excellent pickles. Pickled galangal is crisp and quite refreshing.

Although it wasn’t ginger, leading to a moment of disappointment for Shuangshuang, the galangal could still be stir-fried and eaten during hunger, better than starving.

Bamboo worms are an expensive delicacy in the south. Shuangshuang asked the other two if they wanted to try eating fried bamboo worms, but evidently, Yu Yingjie, Qi Qing, and Yun Chuching had the same attitude towards insects, all expressing dislike. Hence, the overpriced bamboo worms got spared.

Passing through the bamboo forest, Shuangshuang casually chopped down a bamboo and crafted two bamboo cups, along with several long bamboo tubes, intending to use them as pots for boiling water or making bamboo tube-cooked fish.

Afterward, they found some wild vegetables, but unfortunately, no signs, though Shuangshuang quickly found a bunch of wild raspberries, also called brambles, and dug up a sign beneath them.

Everyone was starving, not having had breakfast yet, and upon encountering the delicious raspberries, they eagerly gathered around the two raspberry bushes, picking them wildly, then washed them in a mountain stream, and had a berry breakfast feast.

The four nearly stripped the bushes of ripe berries, only then filling their empty stomachs. Although raspberries are juicy and make one hungry quickly, their nutritional needs were largely replenished, sparing them from consuming the repulsive nutritional cans.

Once filled with raspberries, they continued trekking into the mountains. They came full circle, encountering the pepper tree found by Yu Yingjie and Qi Qing yesterday, and discovered a sign beneath it.

Following this, they came upon a mulberry tree—still no sign—but harvested a pile of rich purple-black mulberries.

They walked and searched, gathering lots of wild vegetables, mostly discovered by Shuangshuang and Yu Yingjie, both having researched beforehand—Shuangshuang had time, Yu Yingjie was currently not taking acting gigs, thus free.

Only Qi Qing and Yun Chuching had packed schedules normally, barely managing to cram some survival knowledge before joining the show. Unfortunately, without practice, they were not adept in the wild.

Luckily, these two girls were tough—they worked hard gathering wild fruits and vegetables, despite being slow due to soreness, they kept busy, which pained the live-stream audience’s hearts.
