Raising A Few Wives in a Beast Apocalypse
Chapter 377: Warrior Empress!
CHAPTER 377: CHAPTER 377: WARRIOR EMPRESS!
Seeing the intense look in Audrey’s eyes. Emily got ready to receive the fight of her life. She could tell that Audrey was about to throw her best at her.
"Haaa!" Audrey shouted as she raced forward.
Emily got ready to receive her. She thought that meeting her in the middle like Jade did before would be suicidal, so it was best to wait for Audrey to come to her then see what happens.
That was actually a good strategy... The learning from someone else’s mistakes part.
However, whether the information she learned would be helpful or not was unknown...
And Emily was well aware of this. So she was quite tense and ready to receive any sort of attack Audrey might throw her way.
Then...
Bang!
"!?" Emily was surprised by how the expected force was nowhere to be found in the attack she received.
She didn’t think about it too much as the reason was irrelevant for the time being.
What mattered was that she could take advantage of it and take out Audrey if it worked.
And so, the ready-to-shoot force she has inside her body exploded forth with the intent of ending Audrey before she could rectify her mistake.
By how her attack was almost out of her body but Audrey hadn’t done anything yet... Emily couldn’t help but smile slightly as she thought that she had managed to beat the one she thought was unbeatable.
However, something weird happened the moment her attack left her body.
Her whole body was instantly wracked with pain the moment her force came into contact with Audrey.
"Arghhhhhhhhhhh!" Emily screamed out loudly in pain.
Her consciousness began fading soon after.
She had one final thought before she lost consciousness and that way....
{Oh... So this is what happened to Jade... No wonder she lost...} Then Emily fell into Muku’s arms who was already standing beside her ready to receive her.
This time they were even less urgent in the way he did things.
"Impressive, you can control it a lot better now. There’s barely any damage to Emily’s body. And it’s just your second time... I’m quite jealous actually. You might be more talented in the technique than I am" Muku complemented Audrey again.
Audrey didn’t say anything however. She just sat down and closed her eyes. In the next second, she was already in a meditative trance.
Muku looked at her silently for a bit before turning around and walking away with a slight smile on his face.
He wasn’t offended by Audrey’s actions at all. After all, it was clear to him that she was in the zone. And she was doing everything in her power to maintain that state.
Which meant that talking wasn’t something she could do at the moment.
Hell, there was a chance that she didn’t even hear what Muku said.
...
"Again?" Chloe commented in surprise.
She looked at Audrey in the distance with nothing but awe in her eyes.
While she expected Audrey to win, she never expected it to ve through a method similar to the one she used last time.
And honestly, the way Audrey looked right then was quite badass. She looked like a warrior empress taking care of business like the boss she was.
"Yeah... Hope, if you please." Muku replied simply then called out to Hope.
Hope who knew what she was being called for, immediately healed Emily.
At this point, Jade had woken up. She just came to the right when Emily was about to lose.
This allowed her to pretty much see what happened to her from an observer’s point of view. And she was even more amazed by it than when she was the one experiencing it.
Maybe because she could clearly see that Audrey was now almost completely in control unlike before.
And that was amazing, because what she was doing was amazing. It should be quite hard just to use the move, let alone control it...
She suspected that Audrey’s body was suffering quite a bit from using the move. And yet because of the adrenaline Audrey was able to push on as if nothing was happening.
Anyway, just because she understood what Audrey was doing didn’t mean that she would tell the others. In fact, Hope just tried asking her about it and she remained quiet.
As Jade was stuck in her thoughts, the others did another rock-paper-scissors tournament.
And this time the winner... Or loser rather, was the timid Freya who couldn’t help but shake when she looked at the dormant Audrey.
She could tell that the current Audrey was different from the usual her. There was currently an overwhelming pressure coming out of her that she normally didn’t have.
It wasn’t a mana pressure or a pressure caused by any other energy. It was literally just pressure caused by Audrey’s state of mind.
It was weightless and harmless, yet Freya felt it crushing down on her even without being targeted by Audrey who didn’t know her next opponent yet as her eyes were still shut and she was completely focused on meditating.
It was only when Muku placed his hand on her shoulder that Freya managed to calm down a bit.
And so, after the five minutes were up, she walked toward Audrey.
The moment she reached ten metres away, Audrey’s eyes snapped open.
Freya expected this so she didn’t scream out in fear like she would have done if it were unexpected.
"Oh... It’s little Freya. I’m sorry but I won’t be able to teach you right now. The state I am in is a bit weird, so I can’t think of anything other than defeating my opponent in the slowest amount of time possible. So please bear with me. I promise to make it up to you after the battle... And I’m not saying I’ll win, just that I won’t be holding back..." Audrey spoke in a calm and somewhat absent voice.
Her crystal clear words sent a chill down Freya’s spine.
Although Audrey said that she wasn’t certain of her victory, the confidence in her voice was unmistakable. It was clear that even if Audrey didn’t win, whoever took her down wouldn’t be able to do it easily no matter what.
And that made her the deadliest opponent one could face. Someone completely detached from everything else apart from the battle.
Freya could only think of one word to use to describe the current state Audrey was in...
"Battle mode..." Freya spoke in a soft voice.
Raya immediately appeared between the two and did what she was supposed to do.
Then the battle began...
BOOOOOOM!
Freya who had been talking with the real Muku more often than the others was no slouch in the ring.
So she easily went from zero to a hundred and charged towards Audrey.
She felt that waiting for Audrey to come to her would be a mistake. So she went towards Audrey instead.
However, her plan wasn’t to throw everything she had at Audrey. After all, everyone had seen clearly that attacking Audrey with Force was seeking death. So even if they didn’t know why that was so, they didn’t dare try it.
For that reason, Freya decided to use her force as support while not using it all when attacking Audrey.
The momentum from that should actually create enough natural force to make a difference in the battle.
She wasn’t certain if it would work but it was the only option she had since their synthetic force was a no-go. And duking it out with Audrey with her much stronger body wouldn’t work either.
Anyway, it was a decent plan for such short notice. And the chance of success wasn’t bad... Only one problem...
Audrey disappeared right in front of Freya’s eyes.
That’s right, she disappeared. Not "exploded" away with her Force like how Freya exploded forward or the others did before her. Audrey just disappeared silently.
This caused Freya to pause as she tried to make sense of what was going on.
However, as a veteran, she expected Audrey to appear behind her... So she turned around quickly in a defensive position...
However, she saw nothing then everything went black...
"...."
Everyone who was looking from the side including Muku were speechless.
No, they were shocked... No, they were beyond shocked...
Wtf did they just see?! How did Freya who was clearly stronger than Emily get one-shotted by Audrey?!
And what the hell did Audrey do?! Were they still using the same technique?!
Did Muku teach her something extra that he didn’t teach them?!
But then again, Muku looked even more shocked than they were when they looked at him.
It was almost like he was seeing a ghost. So yeah, there was no way he knew what was going on with Audrey.
"Big brother... What was that?" Hope asked Muku with her eyes still focused on the ring...
"I don’t know... But, there’s no need for you all to decide on who’s going next. I think it would be best if you went at one if you want to stand a chance..." Muku spoke with a solemn look on his face as he looked at Audrey in the distance.
"What?!" The girls all screamed in surprise.
