Chapter 619 How Could We Possibly Not Welcome You
CHAPTER 619: CHAPTER 619 HOW COULD WE POSSIBLY NOT WELCOME YOU
After receiving a sedative injection last night, Amelia Linton slept until just now, completely unaware of what happened during that period.
"I’m in Flame City now. I called you last night, but no one answered, so I called your husband to find out you were in the hospital." Michael Linton told a white lie. He didn’t want these little things to make the already tense relationship between Amelia and Fabian Holmes any worse.
Upon hearing this, Amelia instinctively touched her pockets, which were empty, and she suddenly remembered her phone was still on the sofa in the living room.
"When did you arrive in Flame City?"
Amelia didn’t doubt Michael’s words at all and completely believed him. Because she trusted him, she didn’t mention anything about her hospitalization and directly avoided discussing what happened last night.
Whether intentionally or not, Michael cooperated with Amelia and didn’t ask about her stay in the hospital. "I’ve been here for two days, but military affairs have kept me busy, so I couldn’t contact you. I have some free time tonight, and I plan to visit you at home."
"You and your husband won’t be unwelcome towards me, right?" Having said this, he didn’t believe his sister could refuse.
"How could we possibly not welcome you? Come over tonight, my husband and I will be waiting for you at home." Amelia was more than happy to welcome her brother, so how could she possibly not be welcoming?
For certain reasons, her family’s home has not been visited by relatives for many years. Her own son hasn’t even been in contact with them, let alone come home. He doesn’t really regard that place as his home.
Michael raised an eyebrow. His elder sister didn’t know why he was going there. If she knew what he was actually up to, it would be a dream if she didn’t scold him for it, let alone happily welcome him.
"Good!"
After responding with a "good," Michael continued, "Put your husband on the phone. I need to say a few words to him."
In order for the evening to go smoothly, he felt it necessary to communicate with his brother-in-law in advance.
"Alright!"
Though she wasn’t quite willing in her heart, Amelia still handed the phone over to Fabian, "Michael wants to speak with you."
Fabian glanced at her and then pressed the phone to the ear closest to the car door. He had a hunch about what Michael wanted to say to him.
"Hello!"
"Don’t speak, just listen."
Michael only let Fabian say "hello" before instructing him, and then he got straight to the point, "Tonight, I will bring up the divorce issue with my sister, so be mentally prepared. Also, I haven’t told her much about last night’s incident. When she asks you later, be cautious."
"That’s all for now. I have things to do, so I’ll hang up."
After saying all this in one breath, Michael hung up the phone, never giving Fabian another chance to speak.
Beep!
The beeping sound in his ear indicated that Michael had ended the call. Fabian removed the phone from his ear and casually placed it in the storage compartment of the car door.
"What did Michael say to you?"
Because Fabian deliberately avoided her and due to Michael’s intentional warning, Amelia hadn’t heard what the two of them had just discussed. Seeing that they had finished their call, she immediately leaned over to inquire.
